    This is the first time we have used his restaurant and we were inspired by the number of cars regularly seen in the car park, along with parties being catered for in the garden. We visited on a Thursday evening as we didn't expect it to be too busy. The menu is small but that's ok if the food is good. We asked the waiter for spicy popadoms but he didn't appear to be listening to us and was more interested on customers just arriving. Needless to say we got plain popadoms so not a good start. There is nothing to say how 'hot' a dish will be and although my husband asked for his goat curry to be madras hot, my dish was even hotter than his. I had Dhaniya Murg and it was hotter than everyone else meal so I had to swap and ended up with the Kadai Murg which was ok but nothing special. My daughter had Lime Chilli Tikka and although the presentation of the plate was beautiful, the chicken itself was covered in bright green paste which I believe was coriander leaves mushed with something - although it was pink on the inside as it hadn't been cooked properly. We sent this back and it was discounted from our bill, but not a pleasant dish even if it had been cooked properly. We will not be going back to the Indian Courtyard at the Yew Tree as there are plenty of other local 'different' Indian restaurants where the food is much, much nicer. What a disappointment.

    Horrible musty smell as soon as I walked in. Looking forward to some Punjabi cuisine, far from it, my lamb was boiled and mixed in a tomato sauce, the only think nice about the place was my gin and tonic!!

    For the second time our group went. 24 the first time, 13 this. On each occasion it took hours to be served. shame as the food is very, very good. this time our order was lost for a long time and we had to re-order ... no compensation was offered. highly embarrassing for me, the organiser on each occasion.

    First experience of visiting The Indian Courtyard. Food & service was very good, I would definitely go again. Highly recommend this restaurant if you fancy a relaxed meal with not disruptions. Very attentive staff. always asking if we would like anything else & checking to see if we were being looked after. Nice touch :)
