About
Our menu changes with the seasons and honours the bounty of the Pacific Northwest region surrounding Vancouver, on land and sea.
Whether you grab a drink at the bar, sit at the cozy lounge or opt for a spot near the fireplace, you’ll be treated to YEW’s cocktails, created by our own long-time bartenders.
Our server Jason was very attentive and provided great service for our dietary needs as well
As usual, the staff were attentive and lovely. Food was delicious. Sad that the restaurant and hotel are closing.
Yew will be missed! Here’s hoping that the restaurant in the new Ritz Carleton will be as good!
Anniversary
We’re sure going to miss this place. The service and quality of food and drink is still stellar even though they’re closing in a few days. Total pros. If any of the staff from here apply to your establishment- hire them!
Everything was great!! Always have had great meals at Yew- Four Seasons Hotel!! It is unfortunate that the Four Seasons is closing its doors after 45 years? (It's always about the Landlord being so greedy, chasing away good tenants). Hope the 4 Seasons will open another spot in Vancouver. Thank you for Great Meals!!
We started off in the lounge for happy hour before 6pm. The deep fried chicken wings were tasteless and dry. We had it sent back. They put more salt and pepper on the next batch and fresh from the fryer. Much better. The calamari was good and the flat bread was good. We moved to dinner area. Decor and high ceilings are very nice. The lobster chaser salad was excellent. The prawns were good. The sable fish was excellent. For dessert we had the yew rocher which was lit with alcohol to melt the chocolate ball. Presentation was excellent. We also had the Black Forest deconstructed cake. That was good too. Design is different for the desserts. Service was excellent. It’s a shame this hotel and restaurant will be closed on Jan 20th forever.
Welcoming friend from out of town
We ordered oysters and the jerk spiced cauliflower to start. Our mains were the mixed seafood and the salad from the gluten free menu. All the dishes were delicious. I really appreciate how well the scallops and fish were cooked.
We also ordered the hidden garden and the hazelnut rocher for dessert. Both were fabulous.
The service was fantastic - we were treated very well.
We will miss this restaurant.
We loved our server Audrey. So engaging, knowledgable and professional..
As always, we loved Yew. We will be sad to see it go!
Another enjoyable New Year's eve at Yew's for my wife and I. Excellent server in Sean and much better food this year. As usual, the DJ did a great job with the music and keeping everyone on their heels until well past midnight. Sorry that the hotel will be leaving its current location and hope it resurfaces soon elsewhere in Vancouver.
We arrived to the holiday menu, which did not suit us, the server assisted & found us a limited menu that suited, food & service was good
They should have asked how cooked you wanted the meat, wasn’t value for money. Booking in advance did not receive a good table.
i've always loved YEW, sad to hear it's closing soon. :(
Service and food was amazing!! It’s too bad it’s closing down :(
Great food, ambience, and top-notch service. Highly recommend.
Yew has been a favourite for many years. Always excellent service, food quality is also excellent. Sorry to see it go.
Excelentes alimentos. Fue bufete de cena para navidad había variedad de mariscos, carnes y ensaladas.
En los postres no hubo nada que llamara mi atención, pero lo demás fue de lo mejor.
What a great space, delicious food, great presentation and the service was perfect. We think the servers should not wear coloured runners. Just plain black would be more professional.
Christmas Dinner with family. Waitress interaction was appropriate and welcome. She definitely took steps to ensure we were satisfied and happy with each of our courses and the overall meal. We hope the four seasons and yew restaurant find a new home in Vancouver. We have enjoyed your facilities for many years.
Having spent last Xmas at the restaurant we were so looking forward to this year which was so very disappointing. Firstly there was confusion at the desk regarding where we were to be seated this ultimately resulted in us (3) being rushed to a table that was not the original I only know this as the staff stated the table was still in use which lead to us being hustled to a corner across from the bar not exactly festive being away from the main restaurant! Regarding the food, the choices for celiacs was very poor in fact i was advised the mash potatoes were gluten free which incidentally they were cold and many of the other vegetables. Extremely let down particularly when one pays $450 !
Service was terrible. The food was great especially the desserts. The 3 Managers on duty could not care one iota. Ended up clearing our own table of dishes. So very sad to see the decline.
Delicious food - Traditional holiday fare with an elevated twist! Impeccable service. A gorgeous setting. We had a delightful time! A beautiful place to have a Christmas morning brunch. (Book early for the holidays - It’s an indulgence, but one that’s worth every penny!)
Our server was brilliant, attentive but not overpowering. Food was awesome and well presented. The beer was nice and cold
Very boring, disappointing seafood platter
Our server was amazing and food was great!
Very good ambience but a bit too noisy for private dinner. Foods are good, serving is small, prepare to order two mains.
I book for my daughter's birthday celebration as she just came home from Australia, but the restaurant made no effort to help us with this special occasion.
Excellent service from our waiter who has worked there almost 30 years. Very sad to see such a wonderful restaurant closing soon. Really hope YEW will reopen so that more people can enjoy the excellent service you provide. Congratulations to all your kitchen and service staff for your strive for excellence. We will miss you all. Thank you!
Everything's good, Except for the table behind was extremely loud. seems like they were so drunk.
Birthday ,
We have monthly celebration with friends at diff restaurants
Always a favorite, super fresh seafood amazing desserts!
We love it here, but on Saturday December 14th when we visited the lounge, our server was extremely rude to our table and it was very embarrassing as we had a friend who had never been before. The server was very attentive to tables beside us, but never checked on us repeatedly during our visit. Very disappointed :(
Our server, Ian, was top notch and was additive to our sadly last time for this Christmas tradition of holiday brunch. Food was good to very good but attentive service was the star.
Food was fantastic but our service was next level. Our server created a warming, friendly and extremely enjoyable atmosphere. Enjoyed every second of our visit.
We always enjoy going there. It’s very sad they will be closing their doors in January.
Since the restaurant will be closing permanently in a matter of weeks, this doesn't really matter, but: (1) our server was very good; (2) the food was very tasty, and the presentation was amazing; (3) the hostesses were poor (they at first tried to seat us without offering to take our coats, and when we specifically asked that they do so, they tried to put one on top of the other, which - since they were wet on the outside from the rain - would have meant that the INside of one of them would have gotten soaked, if we hadn't insisted that they use two separate hangers). (4) the wine by the glass list was ridiculously short, and they were out of several of those wines (because of the pending closure, they aren't ordering new stock).
The food came really fast I ordered the seafood pasta must have eaten some bad mussels because I was violent I’ll for the next two days
Beautiful space but even with a reservation, we were given a table right next to the kitchen under some bright lights. For a romantic date night, it wasn't the best table. However, our server was very nice and efficient.
Been here several times! Always delicious. The fact you can get travel zoo's and get a deal is even better! They're closing in January so get before it's gone!
