YEW seafood + bar - Four Seasons Hotel - Vancouver
Our menu changes with the seasons and honours the bounty of the Pacific Northwest region surrounding Vancouver, on land and sea.
Whether you grab a drink at the bar, sit at the cozy lounge or opt for a spot near the fireplace, you’ll be treated to YEW’s cocktails, created by our own long-time bartenders.
We haven't been to Yew in about a year but the restaurant continues to provide excellent service and food with an ambience to match. Our server Jay was very attentive while not being obtrusive.
The four people in our party were all very satisfied with the meals and we were only sad this might be the last time we are able to get together at this location, due to the closing of the restaurant at the end of this year.
Always highly recommended.
Katie at reception is always so responsive and welcoming.
The waitress is very friendly and knowledgeable.
She explained to us how the dishes was prepared and cooked
Beautiful restaurant. Out of this world service. Sub par food.
Our service with Cristina was excellent, pleasant and just enough attention to our needs. Thank you Cristina for adding a special touch to our 41st wedding anniversary dinner.
This may or may not have been the best meal I have ever had, but I have certainly had none better. Each course was imaginative and complex. The service was outstanding, the atmosphere smart but not fussy. We were offered iced tap water when we sat down which typified the focus on great food without pretention. The bill for two without alcohol was $180 and worth every cent. The scallop appetizer, sable fish entree and ice cream of the month ( you will have to go to find out what it is and you will not be disappointed) were all out of this world. The chocolate hazelnut dessert with liquid caramel flambé was on its own, worth our journey from San Diego to Vancouver, even if we had had to swim. The table service was informed, friendly and perfectly managed; we never had to seek out help - food, water and friendly insights always arrived at just the right moment. In short, to call this restaurant great is to call Michaelangelo moderately talented. Thank you, Yew team for an unforgettable July 5th dinner.
It was our 50th anniversary. Our meals were very good but our waiter was outstanding. I wish I had taken his name. He really made our experience memorable. Wonderful personality - excellent suggestions. Good conversation without being intrusive.
Halibut was over cooked and lacked moisture from scant sauce
Pick 5 seafood box was good but sauces could have been made dishes better...particularly lobster.
Server knowledge was lacking
YEW is an attractive restaurant, though tables are a bit closer together than ideal and it's a bit noisier than we prefer. We were seated promptly and greeted immediately by an efficient waiter who answered questions and took our order. Food seemed to take a long time to arrive, and waiter lost interest once it was served. Both the fish and lamb were beautifully cooked to order, not overdone, and well seasoned. My quibble is with the lamb, which is listed on the menu as "rack of lamb;" the two chops were thick but calling them a rack seems a stretch, and the lone slender sprig of broccolini looked like a paltry garnish on the large plate, which made the price tag feel out of line, especially when compared with the creatively prepared and nicely presented starch and veggies with the fish.
Sunday brunch very good but abut expensive.
Thanks for everything! Amazing place, exceptional food! I did one reservation for 6 people and and put us in a super quiet environment, better than I imagined! thanks!
YEW never disappoints. Food and service is impeccable!
This restaurant came highly recommended and we were not disappointed. It was a wonderful experience in every aspect.
This was the most disappointing lunch I can remember having had in a restaurant of this level. I believe since it was Sunday, a good selection of seafood dishes is not available, because the Fischmarket Is closed. The so called „Brunch“ is nothing els then a selection of egg-dishes. Unfortunately I decided for fried shrimp-omelette. The omelet was more then well cooked and enormous dry and no taste. As side dish small potatoes were served. The potatoes were black like charcoal and not eatable at all. Luckily I know the restaurant from weekday luncheons or dinners, which were always excellent and tasty. But for Sunday Brunch we went twice: the first and the last time.
We tried YEW with our kids because we were staying in the Four Seasons and it looked nice. Overall the meal was very good. The food and drinks were tasty, but the most memorable item was Hidden Garden dessert, a collection of edible moss, branches and flowers (actually sponge cake, chocolate, etc.) served under a dome full of smoke, which the kids loved. The room is striking, and the high ceilings give it a nice open feel even though there isn't much natural light. Towards the end of our dinner, when our son wasn't feeling well (which had nothing to do with the meal) and had to go upstairs with my wife, the manager immediately came over to check that everything was ok, and had a fresh entree sent up to the room for my wife since hers had gone cold in the meantime--that was classic Four Seasons service.
It’s not my visit to YEW! It’s always good to go there no matter the service or the food! It never disappointed me or my friends!
2nd time in as many weeks. Can’t say enough about the services!
Just a lovely brunch place for the weekend:)
The brunch was great! Definitely recommend the chicken waffle; eggs benedict was average.
Amazing halibut and scallops!! The way seafood should taste. Service was outstanding! We’ll definitely be back!
Food is very tasty, fresh. I ordered croque madam and it’s so yummy. Service is always great as well. Must go place
Service was excellent. The food was average. I would have scored higher if it was not so expensive. The steak was below keg standard for 2x the price. The pasta was too oily, but the seafood was perfectly cooked and very good quality. The oysters excellent. Overall it was nice, but for the price the food should be improved.
Mothers day brunch was lovley
Service was one of the best! Sad to know this will be their last Mother’s Day Brunch. Tradition ended this year. Lots of great memories! Food was even better than last year!
As far as mothers day brunch buffets go, this is one of the best. I have been to the Pan Pacific mothers day brunch several times and though there is more selection, the quality is not as good. Desserts were a surprise due the artistic design and taste of every single dish. Overall, it was excellent.
Enjoyed our dinner at Yew the other night.. what made the evening was our server CHRISTINE who was professional, polite, knowledgeable and FUN! We were just out for a girls night and had a great meal, great wine and amazing service . THANK YOU
Thank you for the champagne to start! We had a lovely time. Our gorgeous German waitress Jenny treated us like gold. I had perfect scallops and the maestro ordered fish tacos. Both dishes were elevated and satisfying. What a wonderful experience.
Over crowding waiters, worked on assumptions instead of asking. They brought bread over 3 times despite us saying every time we didn’t want it.
Classy with knowledgeable wait staff. Top notch food and wine list! Will be sorely missed come December.
Excellent and non pretentious service and food. I was impressed!
Great place and food! Service was great also!
Excellent food and service!
Awesome food as always. Great waiter. Love this place.
Food was amazing , the halibut and seared prawn dishes were perfection. The crab salad appetizer was loaded with Dungeness crab meat and a perfect clean dressing. Our server was outstanding and he really knows the menu and how to sell the menu without being a "salesman" . had a wonderful experience and highly recommend it!
It was a fabulous dinner experience once again. We took our son to this restaurant to celebrate his graduation & it was an awesome meal. This is our second time but this time we went with friends! Keep up the great work Yew 👍🏻 Thanks!
Was okay evening, waitress wanted to over fill wine glasses. We asked to stop and we took over. I think never trained. Felt like a standard hotel restaurant.
Server spilled hot water all over a guests meal and clothing. Apologised but didn't take anything off the bill or offer to comp her ruined meal. Likely won't be back - service has done downhill at Yew.
We have been to Yew many times previously and the service has slowly gone downhill. Ribeye steaks were ordered medium both came medium rare at best - very bloody and barely warm. Server was very poor. He would stand at another table in full view of our table chatting with guests while we wait for drinks or bread or to order. I went to the bar twice to ask the bartender to have someone else bring our drinks to the table.
Won’t go back and wouldn’t recommend.
