YEW seafood + bar - Four Seasons Hotel - Vancouver
Our menu changes with the seasons and honours the bounty of the Pacific Northwest region surrounding Vancouver, on land and sea.
Whether you grab a drink at the bar, sit at the cozy lounge or opt for a spot near the fireplace, you’ll be treated to YEW’s cocktails, created by our own long-time bartenders.
Great service from Joel. Food was amazing.
We have been several times to YEW and been happy but this time, the food was less than good. My “medium rare” tenderloin was at best medium well done.
Excellent food, great value and outstanding service
Absolutely terrible service. Food was mediocre for the price. Steak was overcooked and while it was remade, the sides sat under a heat lamp.
Fantastic as always. The food is delicious and looks fantastic.
Great restaurant with amazing food and service. Too bad, it's supposedly closing?
A delightful dinner. Warm and friendly service-very flexible in accommodating our dietary needs and wishes. Food was absolutely delicious.
Great service from everyone (host, server, busboy)! The highlight were the beautifully crafted desserts and the lovely touch of complimentary doughnuts at the very beginning. I’m quite sad this place will be gone by January 2020!
Clam Chowder soup was disappointing.
Booked for a business lunch and we had a quiet table in the back. Ordered the Ling cod which is in daily menu and was absolutely delicious! Service was excellent.
I love this place. Food is always good and service, exceptional. Very pricey, however so be prepared to spend a few bucks. The filet mignon was good, not excellent and it should've been for $45. Overall a very good experience. Excellent cocktails and late night service and menu.
We shared the seared scallops and the seafood pot. Both were delicious and fresh. I have many sensitivities when food has fillers or pre-made sauces and I felt great after our meal. My husband is also type 1 diabetic and he had a very low sugar reaction to the food. The food at the Yew was clean and amazing. Service was also too notch. We definitely recommend and are very sad they will be shutting down.
Excellent wines including by the glass
Great service and ambience
My wife and I have been attending Thanksgiving at Yew for 8 years straight now. It has become our Thanksgiving tradition and we would like to keep it that way. It is against my nature to write reviews. However, Open Table asked and we had a service issue off the bat that I feel should be addressed. Our Thanksgiving reservations are always made months in advance to make sure we get a table. At the request of Open Table, I confirmed that reservation the day before. When we arrived, the hostess couldn't find our reservation. She questioned us with some attitude, so I politely showed her on my phone to help clarify the confirmed reservation. She continued to question whether we really made one, then took her time figuring out a way to seat us. We were then escorted to a large, shared table to be sat directly between 2 large groups. We walked past several tables of 2 on our way, so I asked if we could be sat at one of those, and the woman seating us really didn't want to. I think she noticed the immediate disappointment in our faces because then she ran away leaving us standing there. We walked back to the front and her and the hostess were working something out then sat us at a more reasonable table for 2. No apologies were made for losing our reservation, or for trying to squeeze us between 2 large families at the same table, even though we had made reservations almost 3 months in advance to secure a table.
The menu has remained similar with small changes year after year. The heart of the meal is the same though. Yew's Thanksgiving preparation doesn't stray too far from tradition that it feels like a science experiment, but it's modern enough that it's a refreshing experience. Simply, great! The attention to detail for such an event is impressive. Dessert, usually the weak point, was the best it's ever been. Service is always friendly and attentive. The price has crept up slowly over the years. But this year was the first year it was a substantially smaller serving.
Food was excellent. The scallop ceviches and other chilled seafood selections were amazing. Service was fast and friendly, always there when you wanted but never intrusive. Cocktails were well made. Overall a fantastic dining experience. Will definitely be going back while we still can. It is a shame that they will be closing their doors in 2020.
I love that I can bring my children and am not treated any differently. Our food was delicious and the service was exceptional!
We love our 10 year tradition of celebrating our anniversary at Yew! We love the food, our booth and the incredible service!
Food was great
One of our favourite restaurant that we go to
Service could have been better
Never had this server before she must be new one can tell
We were also sat way in the back of the restaurant which is a first did not like that at all it’s as if we were being punished even though we were regulars
Very good and enjoyable dinner. With excellent quality food and wine with very good service.
Service was excellent but prices are high and portions are quite small. The tomatoes in my salad were fermenting, not great. Server was good but didn’t notice that I pushed most of them to the side of my plate but ate everything else. As I was part of a group out for a special luncheon I didn’t want to embarrass the hostess and say anything...
Overall, we were expecting better quality. Yew seems to value quantity (how many they can serve) versus quality. Staff seemed rushed, food lacked attention and care, and we felt like a number.
Food was average. Plate with steak was nearly empty. 6oz piece of meat and a single piece of broccolinni.
Bread was very good. Service was also very good.
Great quality good service and nice vibe
Jason’s awesome. Took great care of us
Overall the atmosphere was delightful, but the food let our experience down. It was over priced, no flavour. I wouldn’t recommend going to anyone.
Everything was good. Well worth it.
Just another brilliant experience. My wife and I went there for the nth time for lunch again. Great server who greeted us and remembered us from previous visits, excellent bartender and superb two ladies on the reception who had kindly organized the booth (there are only four!) that I had requested at the time of booking. All round superb, as usual.
Food as always was delicious. Never disappoints. Our server was amazing, super attentive but not overly. It was not noisy so we could actually have a conversation. Would definitely return.
Very good. Expensive.
Great service...kitchen made one error in our meal and the entire staff made it their mission to make up for that error. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a fantastic evening
Incredible pea soup. The ahi tacos were superb. Lovely dining room, really enjoyed the decor and artwork. Service was very attentive.
Excellent food and service. Gluten free options
It was the perfect end of summer dining experience. Loved the Travelzoo menu. And no extra charges for menu items, like some restaurants have with specials.
Very classy place. Had a Travelzoo coupon. They didn’t scrimp. Excellent meal/wine. Even a free treat at end!
Travelzoo tasting menu
This is an absolute go-to amazing restaurant. Staff are friendly, energized, excited by food and the ambience and food themselves are exceptional. Yew is consistently excellent fresh food coupled with an elegant setting. Amongst the very best seafood in Vancouver especially the Fisherman's Box - fabulous
While visiting from Arizona, we had and enjoyable dinner with excellent service from Matt.
Phenomenal food and fantastic service! Thanks Lance and Yew for such an awesome evening
Excellent food in a beautiful setting. Wonderful hostesses who recognized immediately that we were celebrating three significant promotions. Would recommend as a venue for celebrating milestone events.
Carbonara was one of the best ever Desserts phenomenal. Service outstanding!!
