Yeti Indian Cuisine Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We have been to Yeti three times and it seems that each time gets better and better. It was cold out and unfortunately the walls don’t have the greatest insulation. They have some floor heaters spread around and they help. But what really helps is the food which is hot and typically tasty and spicy. After the wine and samosas we were pleasantly warmed up and the rest of the dinner was great - Chicken Tikka Marsala and Tandori Salmon were off the charts. Yeti has a very reasonably priced wine menu and the check for the two of us including the wine was less than $90. Luckily Yeti was not affected by the recent fires and it is a great place to have some really good food in Glen Ellen.
The food was tasty, seasoned appropriately, and served at the right temperature. At times there were two wait staff vying for our attention; it seemed like the two weren't communicating well with one another about our requests. Because of other reviews, we chose to sit inside to avoid the yellow jackets. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to avoid a couple of pesky flies. Since the unscreened door to the patio area was left wide open, it's not surprising that the flies were there. All in all it was a nice place to spend celebrating our anniversary.
At first I thought the prices were a bit high for Indian and then the wonderful food came out in huge portions. We started off with the chicken momo, it came out looking like a Shanghai dumpling, there were some juices inside so it could be the Nepalese version. They were very flavorful and worth the drive all by itself. Then we each had a tandoori kabob dish, an order of rice and a piece of nan. We could've easily just shared one kabob dish. Since all of our dishes were "dry", the server brought us out a small bowl of a cream sauce that tasted sort of like korma to try. YUM!!!
I wish we could have taken doggie bags, but it was a hot day and we had come to Glen Ellen to shop.
Absolutely LOVED the ambiance. We typically eat at the Santa Rosa location because it's very close to our home. What a nice surprise that the food in Glen Ellen was equally as good- but the atmosphere and the setting on the outdoor patio was AMAZING! I'd highly recommend. We'll be back!
We first visited Yeti about 18 months ago. Happily the food is still just as good and the service matches it well. What is new is that because it is summer we were able to sit outside on the patio for dinner and that was very enjoyable. The Samosas were cooked perfectly and the three sauces to go with them were great. The garlic naan was oozingly good. The Chicken Tikka Masala and Vegetable Curry were both outstanding, as was the Kashmiri Pallau, a really tasty rice dish. When in Glen Ellen or nearby, Yeti is a great restaurant to visit.
Loved the outdoor seating. Vines wrap around the porch which overlooks a small creek and sculpture garden. The food was very good. Smaller portions than many establishments, which is a welcome change for richer dishes. The vindaloo was mild, despite a request to make it spicy, but still good flavors.
For the last four years we've returned to Sonoma every spring to participate in a vintage car race. We always look forward to eating a an incredibly delicious meal at Yeti! We have tried various items from the extensive menu and have never been disappointed. Friendly servers and chefs!! Highly recommend this restaurant.
I love this restaurant! The outdoor seating provides a glorious setting, and the service is perfect - no one hovers, but someone is always available to help. The food is scrumptious! Everyone shared tastes (even though we each got our own dish.) I can't think of a better place to go for a group get-together, just for fun or for a special occasion. This was not my first time at Yeti, but it was my first time going with a group, and it was delightful.
This is a gem of a place with fabulous Indian-Nepali food. The family recipe for lamb was outstanding (right?), the naan wonderfully prepared, chicken tandoori luscious. My only reservation was that the raita was kind of thin. They have a second location in Santa Rosa, and we will try that as well when we are there.
The food and service are predictably good. We have been here several times and it's our go-to for Indian/Nepalese food. The garlic cilantro naan is excellent. The curries are delicious, but could be a little hotter (I'm sure you could ask to raise the heat).
I absolutely love this restaurant. They never disappoint. The food is excellent, in my opinion the best Indian food in this area. The service is always on point and they go out of their way to work with anyone's food preferences.
We went for "restaurant week" and the quantity and quality of food they served on the special menu was outstanding.
We were looking forward to eating here as we had heard good things about it. The food was excellent, but the service and ambiance needs serious work.
When we arrived for a 7pm reservation on Valentine's Day, we were unclear where we supposed to check in. There was a bar table inside the front door, but no one around or anywhere to sit, so we walked down into one of the dining rooms and stood there. Once no one helped us, we walked outside to the patio dining. When a server was done taking an order, we told her we had a reservation, and she sat us in a corner by the formerly bar. There menus, glasses, and other stuff piled up all over the bar so it was unusable.
It took awhile for the server to come over and take our order, then another 15 min for the appetizer to come out. It was delicious. No one came by do check on us till the dinner arrived, which was delicious! Again, minimal check-in on us after. We had to flag down for water refills. When done, we waited there quite awhile, then finally flagged down our waitress for our check.
This small place would be awesome if they considered cleaning up the place a bit and what the diners see when they dine. Also, a small sign at the door that says please wait here to be seated would help. Lastly, the service needs an overhaul. The food is so delicious, and we would easily eat here more often as we live in the area. We felt ignored and unimportant to this restaurateur, which is disappointing.
