It was our first time at Yeti in Glen Ellen and we visited during Sonoma Restaurant Week so we got to taste a lot of different things. Our server was excellent - she explained the different dishes and how best to eat them. I'd definitely go back and order the chicken momo for an app and lamb for the main dish.
We had our first visit to Yeti during Restaurant Week so we could try their special menu
I had made a reservation at least a week earlier but when we arrived, we were told there were no tables. The offered us a seat at a table in a room that was separate from the main dining room where no one else was sitting. My husband said NO and were told we could wait 15 minutes for another table. If we had another option we probably would have left and not returned. We took a drive to local store for a few items and came back about 20 minutes later. We were seated and we did have a wonderful meal.
Our favorite local restaurant for comfort and flavor. It is definitely worth the drive. I've never had anything I wouldn't order again and again. We bump into friends almost every time we go. I have even taken Indian friends.
Every time we are in Sonoma County, we plan on a meal at Yeti!
If you are staying in the area and want something different from your typical "California" fare, Yeti is good. Is it the best Indian food I have ever had? Not close. But it was warm and hit the spot.
The servers at Yeti in Glen Ellen are always smiling and friendly and make good suggestions about what's best on the menu. Plates are small and saucy for sharing - its good to get orders of Naan (garlic and buttered are our favorites) and/or rice for mopping up all the goodness.
We have been to Yeti three times and it seems that each time gets better and better. It was cold out and unfortunately the walls don’t have the greatest insulation. They have some floor heaters spread around and they help. But what really helps is the food which is hot and typically tasty and spicy. After the wine and samosas we were pleasantly warmed up and the rest of the dinner was great - Chicken Tikka Marsala and Tandori Salmon were off the charts. Yeti has a very reasonably priced wine menu and the check for the two of us including the wine was less than $90. Luckily Yeti was not affected by the recent fires and it is a great place to have some really good food in Glen Ellen.
The food was tasty, seasoned appropriately, and served at the right temperature. At times there were two wait staff vying for our attention; it seemed like the two weren't communicating well with one another about our requests. Because of other reviews, we chose to sit inside to avoid the yellow jackets. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to avoid a couple of pesky flies. Since the unscreened door to the patio area was left wide open, it's not surprising that the flies were there. All in all it was a nice place to spend celebrating our anniversary.
Wonderful meal, wonderful service. Good was tasty, good heat, and proper portions. Wait staff was very good with recommendations. I would definitely go back!
Food was fantastic. People were friendly. They were busy, so service was slow. There were also a lot of flies in the restaurant because the doors were open.
At first I thought the prices were a bit high for Indian and then the wonderful food came out in huge portions. We started off with the chicken momo, it came out looking like a Shanghai dumpling, there were some juices inside so it could be the Nepalese version. They were very flavorful and worth the drive all by itself. Then we each had a tandoori kabob dish, an order of rice and a piece of nan. We could've easily just shared one kabob dish. Since all of our dishes were "dry", the server brought us out a small bowl of a cream sauce that tasted sort of like korma to try. YUM!!!
I wish we could have taken doggie bags, but it was a hot day and we had come to Glen Ellen to shop.
For all the rave reviews and recommendations it was less than I had expected. The tiki masala meat was tough and dry and the spice was underwhelming.
Love this local restaurant! Wonderful food with an attentive staff. Very nice outdoor dining near a creek.
The problem was that the food was made for "white people" i.e. nice dishes and ingredients but really bland.
Amazing setting and the food was phenomenal!!
Food you won't get anywhere else. Exotic flavors. There are few outdoor dining spots in Glen Ellen, this is one of them. The servers are helpful and friendly. Get the garlic Naan.
Absolutely LOVED the ambiance. We typically eat at the Santa Rosa location because it's very close to our home. What a nice surprise that the food in Glen Ellen was equally as good- but the atmosphere and the setting on the outdoor patio was AMAZING! I'd highly recommend. We'll be back!
This restaurant has amazing food. Highly recommend.
Really outstanding Indin food in the middle of Glen Ellen. Great service overlooking the canyon and woods and you can bring your own wine for a modest corkage charge!
We first visited Yeti about 18 months ago. Happily the food is still just as good and the service matches it well. What is new is that because it is summer we were able to sit outside on the patio for dinner and that was very enjoyable. The Samosas were cooked perfectly and the three sauces to go with them were great. The garlic naan was oozingly good. The Chicken Tikka Masala and Vegetable Curry were both outstanding, as was the Kashmiri Pallau, a really tasty rice dish. When in Glen Ellen or nearby, Yeti is a great restaurant to visit.
Excellent food. Service slow this time but seemed to be an exception. Usually excellent
As always the food was excellent and very authentic. The only ongoing issue is their lack of control with the yellow jackets. The amount of yellow jackets was very distracting and annoying, there were more of them than in our party.
Loved the outdoor seating. Vines wrap around the porch which overlooks a small creek and sculpture garden. The food was very good. Smaller portions than many establishments, which is a welcome change for richer dishes. The vindaloo was mild, despite a request to make it spicy, but still good flavors.
My husband and I were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and our resturant of choice is Yeti's for sure, Great food, service and comfortable!
It was a nice venue when dining on the patio. I didn't think the food was anything special. I have dined at Indian restaurants in other cities and think the food was tastier and portions were larger.
For the last four years we've returned to Sonoma every spring to participate in a vintage car race. We always look forward to eating a an incredibly delicious meal at Yeti! We have tried various items from the extensive menu and have never been disappointed. Friendly servers and chefs!! Highly recommend this restaurant.
Yeti has a wonderful outdoor patio that is near a creek. The food is excellent as well as the friendly service. This is the first place my daughter wants to go when she is visiting from Portland, Oregon and she is a foodie.
Restaurant offered a free appetizer with every reservation before June 2. Was told that offer had expired (we dined on 5/29) and had to pay for an appetizer we could have done without ordering. Food was not at all spicy.
I love this restaurant! The outdoor seating provides a glorious setting, and the service is perfect - no one hovers, but someone is always available to help. The food is scrumptious! Everyone shared tastes (even though we each got our own dish.) I can't think of a better place to go for a group get-together, just for fun or for a special occasion. This was not my first time at Yeti, but it was my first time going with a group, and it was delightful.
Mediocre food. Very blend. Ask for extra spicy for the lamb dishes but both came very very mild. All the dish tasted very similar.
Great food.. beautiful back patio over looking the creek... awesome setting... highly recommend
This is a gem of a place with fabulous Indian-Nepali food. The family recipe for lamb was outstanding (right?), the naan wonderfully prepared, chicken tandoori luscious. My only reservation was that the raita was kind of thin. They have a second location in Santa Rosa, and we will try that as well when we are there.
Excellent food and service! This restaurant is by the creek and sculptures scattered around, great setting.
We're local and been here many times. Have seen John Lassiter here as he's a local as well. Great place for anytime and occasion. All my friends and kids love it to! Exellent and good value for money spent !
Once again we were not disappointed. The location is beautiful and the food is great.
resturant is great, we have never been disappointed
Amazing Indian food, amazing staff. Since it was our first time we ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and Saag Paneer with plain naan. Loved it!
What a gem. We would always say we would try it someday. Sure to become one of our regular dinner spots!
Very pleasant and accommodating service. Great food, nicely spiced. Will go again.
The food and service are predictably good. We have been here several times and it's our go-to for Indian/Nepalese food. The garlic cilantro naan is excellent. The curries are delicious, but could be a little hotter (I'm sure you could ask to raise the heat).
