Yekta Kabobi Restaurant
I have been to this restaurant several times. The food is consistently good, as also service. This time, however, I was charged $4.00 for coffee that I did not order. I was also charged $3.00 for tea which I had. I think this was a mistake, which I found out later after coming home. I will bring this up to the restaurant next time I visit.
The food here never fails. Pretty everything is good. The special rice is worthy of the up charge.
Wonderful food - one of my favorite restaurants! And staff always friendly and helpful. We were celebrating our birthdays - and brought a cake which the staff assisted after our meal. It made our visit very special.
We have been here before but it was first time for our friends. Everything was perfect except the appetizer was not what we had expected. I think we had something else in mind. We also ordered stuffed grape leaves but did not receive them.
However, every thing else was so good that getting our appetizer wrong did not matter.
This restaurant is on our list to be a regular. We love it!
Will go back again &again. Love the food & my guests are always happy upon leaving especially when we stop at the market!
We are returning customers to this restaurant in our neighborhood. Top quality authentic iranian food. Everything on the menu is good. The grocery store attached to the restaurant has excellent products, particularly the feta and the walnuts.
Good quiet restaurant. Limited selection of middle eastern food. Variety of rice is excellent.
Fantastic food at a reasonable price. Fluffy rice, tender and delicious meat, creative desserts.
I dearly love this restaurant, never disappointed with the delicious foods & outstanding service.
Always my go to restaurant!
A restaurant where the foods have a taste, well seasoned!
Great for small, large parties. Just AWESOME anytime!
The three of us went to Yekta for dinner on the strength of a past visit. First big plus: the dining room is quiet. Second, the menu has several unusual items which made it tough to choose (although, warning, there's a heavy emphasis on beef dishes). Third, the hummous and the Zeytoon Parvardeh (green olives and walnuts marinated with pomegranate molasses, herbs and garlic) are spectacular. All the flavors for both starters and main meals are intense and wonderful, but I could only eat so much before my taste buds were worn out. The desserts, which we had no time or room for, looked unusually interesting. Right next door, under the same name and management, there's a truly special Iranian market filled to the gills with imported specialties...tantalizing!
It was my birthday dinner and everything we ordered was delish!
Exceptional food! The best Persian restaurant in the DC Metro area
The service and food were outstanding! We will be revisiting this restaurant very soon with friends and family.
My friend and I went for dinner during the week. She enjoyed the lamb chops tremendously. I enjoyed the chicken kebabs. We shared the eggplant and tomatoes appetizer. That was very tasty. The salad with tomatoes, onions, etc. was a basic salad. We would return.
The food was very good Persian cuisine with vegetarian & meat options. Service was good & room quiet enough for 5 people at a round table to have a conversation.
Yekta kabobi has been around a long time! Management has changed but some of the old servers are still there and makes it more enjoyable to return! Always have the same thing and their fresh bread is unbeatable
My wife and I love this place. It is truly authentic Persian food.
Great food. Large portions. We had reservations for 4 but 5 people came; they accommodated us at a larger table and let us stay (in a rain storm) for almost an hour after we were done eating. Had wanted to try this place for years and regret having put it off. Will definitely return and recommend.
As usual amazing staff, great food and service, excellent cuisine,
Made a reservation for six people but ended up having ten show up. The staff were very kind and accommodating and were able to seat all of us together. The food was very good as well as the service!
Great service--patient with a large group and food was really good and reasonable.
We LOVED Yekta. The food and service we impeccable. We will definitely be back!
Had a wonderful meal as usual, each of our party ordered something different. All entrees from the Fesenjen to kabobs, salads & sauteed vegetables were flavorful & cooked to perfection.
Food was very good. It took an unusual amount of time to get our main dishes. After waiting about 10 of fifteen minutes after we had finished our appetizer the waiter cAme back to us and said it would be another 5 minutes which turned into at least another 10. There obviously was a problem with the kitchen.
Always great food, great service, and you can hear your friends talk!
Yekta Kabobi is always delicious and a special dining experience.
This restaurant is a gem, and typically very crowded so make sure to reserve.the service was attentive and the food is excellent, especially the stews.
On this busy Saturday evening we were at a magic show at the DC Mayflower and on our way to attending a beautiful concert at the local Scott Fitzgerald theater and this was a nice interlude. The stained glass transoms complemented the quality napkins and silverware -food was gourmet good -we ordered the koubideh beef and chicken kabobs- which came with onions, grilled tomato and saffron rice-and did not leave any room for dessert. The ambiance inside was old world traditional- all painted ceilings with colored chandeliers and alcoves lined with turquoise vases. The large space filled up rather quickly after 7pm -it is likely a local favorite. The market right next door detracts a little from an otherwise very fine restaurant- and we were happy to dine here.
My favorite restaurant in the area! Consistently delicious and has great service.
Food is always good and ambience is great! Especially enjoy chicken kabobs with salad and rice.
I love the food and atmosphere at Yekta. I went with some first-timers and they enjoyed it too. I'd love to go back and try some of their dishes that are more "off the beaten path".
Service is always pitch-perfect here ... prompt, professional, personable. The food is excellent, and great value. The decor is lovely, and as if that is not enough, the next door market is a MUST NOT MISS ... wonderful spices, produce, dried fruits and nuts, middle-eastern pastries and meats, not to mention a phenomenal selection of breads. One of my favorite places to grab a friend and a meal.
I had visited two days earlier and I had the TAHDIG & KHORESHT (crispy rice with a stew choice). I chose FESENJAN, which was a sweet and sour stew made with pomegranate molasses, ground walnuts, and chicken breast. For my main, I had MAHICHEH, the lamb shank braised in turmeric and tomato, with the specialty dill and fava bean rice. The braised lamb was so good!
I had a business dinner on Tuesday and suggested to return to this restaurant. We had a feast! We had both eggplant appetizers, KASHKE BADEMJAN and MIRZA GHASEMI, the shirazi salad and all the kabobs. The lamb was my favourite, but all of them were delicious! We ordered 1 kabob dish and had it served family style. There was so much food! For dessert, we had the ice cream and the frozen noodle sorbet. They were both light and refreshing. Great value for the price and the staff were very good to us.
Great food and time. Would go back anytime. I highly recommend it
It was about 80 degrees outside the day we went, but the AC was not consistently on- it would turn on and off; so it was a bit warm inside. Also, the service was a little slow. Other than that the entrees were really delicious !
Yekta Kabobi is truly special. The atmosphere is authentic. The service is friendly and attentive. The food? That's the best part. We had a trio of dips with bread that were delicious. I had the lamb shank which is my favorite. For dessert, we had an ice with lemon and fruit sauces. All around special!
Every time we want to eat Persian food, it is here that we go. My husband likes the Chicken soltani. I try the dishes like Bademjan or Fesenjan.
The wait staff are polite and courteous. The bathroom is clean. Ambience is okay.
Yekta never disappoints. Consistently serves the best Persian cuisine in the area.
Really nice service and the food was delicious.
A very nice restaurants with delish kabobs and authentic deserts. I truly enjoyed my meal. The service was courteous, helpful and timely. All in all, a neighborhood gem.
