YEFSI Ratings and Reviews
Have been going to Yefsi for many years. I would recommend sitting in the garden due to the high noise level. Please try the zucchini chips and ask for pita bread. The chicken dish with lemon potatoes is very good. Their food is very good and vegans will have choices. The service was very poor and this usually is not the case. Maybe it was an off night. Thank
Wow is it noisy! If you like a lot of noise--Yefsi is for you!
Even eating outside it was difficult to have a conversation--there was an extremely loud party near us (a big group at long tables) who screamed the whole time.
The noise level inside is even worse.
Our waiter was lovely and service was excellent.
The food was just ok--honestly, nothing special.
I was hoping for better, but it was not to be.
Came here for my birthday. Live just down the block and have been waiting for an occasion to try the restaurant. It was perfect. The staff was super helpful, great recommendations, accommodating of my friend who's train got stuck and was late, all in all, just thumbs up!
Friendly service, decent food that could be seasoned a little more. Avgolemono soup very good; both flavorful and not stingy on the chicken and orzo within. Enjoyed a seafood salad with octopus, squid, shrimp but it could have been better seasoned and shrimp was a bit overcooked. My companion had lamb with rice pilaf, and again the food was under-seasoned yet otherwise nicely cooked.
Once again Yefsi did not disappoint. Food was fresh and tasty, service was excellent and as always staff were polite and friendly. One word to some people who find this restaurant a bit loud and noisy....it's a popular and busy restaurant and it's in manhattan what do they expect. And to the owners of Yefsi keep up the good work but maybe after 5 years maybe the place needs a little 'freshening' up!!
I just moved into the neighborhood and decided to check out restaurants on York Avenue. The service was excellent and the food was prepared very well. I love Greek food and this restaurant has traditional as well as other interesting selections. I think it's a great choice!
As always, my favorite place: third time this month. Ordered the chicken with lemon potatoes . Spinach Pie and Fried Cheese for appetizers. Great combination with a bottle of Sancere. Highly recommend YEFSI once again! You won't go wrong here. A neighborhood gem!
This is my absolute favorite restaurant and I live in the neighborhood. Every dish is great. We had the chicken with lemon potatoes ( one of my favorites) and the Salmon ( always great) but you can't go wrong with any of the dishes. I have had them all. The appetizers (octopus especially) are generous and really perfect to start. Try the yogurt dessert with sauce!
We ate outside and it was a lovely night. The very back semi outdoor room is nice. Sometimes when busy the middle can get a bit noisy but seems nobody minds too much. Cheers to Chef Christos!
Fantastic restaurant; we booked a table for outdoors since weather was nice and we had a service dog with us.
Waiter was attentive as we got seated quickly before it got crowded. Great recommendation on apps; we got the grilled baby octopus, fried zucchini chips and the croquets. All apps were amazing as they timed each dish apart so we weren't overload with all the dishes. We ordered the 33oz steak to share and it was the perfect amount for the 2 of us, along with the Greek fries on the side. Overall, restaurant was great, this was on a Sunday evening and we got out reservation with rather ease; but come early or else it would get booked fast. Our dinner time was 6:30p. I can't comment on how noisy it is inside as experienced by previous guests.
