Greek dining is as social an experience as it is culinary. Mezedes are the centerpiece of Christos’ menu, influenced by his travels throughout the Greek Isles to gain inspiration.
YEFSI features the traditional and contemporary Greek specialties, such as grilled whole fish, prime chops, meats and an eclectic selection of contemporary appetizers.
YEFSI Estiatorio, lead by Executive Chef/Owner, Christos Christou is a stand-alone restaurant. It is not affiliated with any other locations within Manhattan.
We were visitors from out of town and needed a place for a quick family catchup. YEFSI popped up. We didn't know what to expect but it was everything and more for the evening. Great food (tons of shareable plates) and the dessert hit the spot.
Server was greek and super nice and attentive. Loved the food.
Yefsi is a great place for an evening meal or special occasion. The food is delicious (especially the “yefsi chips”) and the service is great.
enjoy the food very much. sat in the rear garden area which was very nice.
we had an excellent waiter (don't know his name)
The food is always good, a little pricey, but we enjoy every bite. The staff is warm and welcoming.
Very good food. Nice wait staff. A bit cramped and definitely loud. Something to absorb the sound a bit would make it even better.
Excellent menu of nice dishes that we found easy to choose for ourselves, as well as the kids.
Overall great experience
Love the food and the people! Wonderful neighborhood feel.
excellent service and very, very good Greek food. a bit pricey (particularly the wine list and a $17 martini!), so don't go as often as I would like, but when looking to treat ourselves, always a great experience.
This was my first visit to Yefsi. No matter where you sit, the noise level is somewhat loud. Service and food is excellent!
We like this restaurant and the apps were great, but the entrees were disappointing this time. Overcooked fish and soggy green beans...not up to par. We will go back again because usually the food is much better but something was off this night and it took too long to get our check.
Great service and while the food was good (average) it is way overpriced. There are better Greek spots in the city for this price range.
We had the haloumi cheese and yefsi chips to start and grilled salmon. Both were delicious. The service is quick and responsive. The restaurant was full and the noise levels a bit too high. I would certainly recommend restaurant but suggest sitting toward the back where it is quieter.
Delicious food but noisy
Very nice, cozyy restaurant with good food and caring manager and its best feuture is that there is NO TV anywhere in the restaurant which is so annoying at other places. Restaurants are for eating and talking and NOT watching insipid TV shows.
Good food. A bit noisy. Great service. Server should replace dirty utensils in between meals instead of just putting them back on the table.
Waitresses were a bit pushy. Bus boys were clearing unfinished meals while I was chewing. And I wish they didn’t ask me if I wanted more alcohol 10 times after I said , no!
As usual, excellent service from the time you walk through the door to the time you exit.
Yefsi always delicious with great service amongst demur decor.
Definitely a go to place for a great meal with that special someone
Love the place, owners and staff are always welcoming, feels very familiar, love the food!
My favorite restaurant in the 'hood. always good food and good service
Place was jumping—good vibe but very noisy. We were 4 for dinner with one diner claiming best ever lamb dish he’s ever had but another disappointed in his food (different lamb dishes). The waiter was absolutely fabulous but thought prices were high, especially on mixed drinks. We
Yanni was great.....coming out from behind the bar to be the Maitre d" for the evening!!!!
Hi! Yefsi is my favorite restaurant and I could eat there every night if it was affordable! The other night was not up to the usual amazing quality - I JD asked for extra feta on the Maroulis salad and that was forgotten-the fasolakia and salmon was lukewarm and the salmon was mushy-whereas it is typically cooked perfectly well on the outside. The service was slower than usual too.
Food is consistently good, wine are good. Service is good enough.
No complaints. A little noisy, perhaps, but not bad.
It's a fine dining experience.
Exceptional as always!
Intriguing menu, tantalizingly tasty food and affably efficient service in an I an attractive, cozy-ish setting. What more could you want? No matter it's impressively busy on an Monday night in August, when so many restaurants are dead!
The food is always absolutely delicious, the number one reason why we come back. Unfortunately, it’s rather overpriced, and the wines extremely so, and service is mediocre.
We had another fabulous dinner at Yefsi on Friday night. (I was hosting guests from out of town who have previously dined with me at Yefsi and who asked to return during this visit.) Food is consistently delicious—fresh, well prepared—and well presented. Nice wine list. Service was attentive, kind, and patient (as has been our experience with service at Yefsi in the past). We were seated in the rear area with glass ceiling. It was fine, but noise levels felt amplified in this space, perhaps because of the glass. (There was also a small birthday party back there.) I would request a table in the main dining space near the bar in the future for slightly less noise. A lovely evening, overall. We will return.
Too much food! Order half of what you think you need— the portions are enormous. That’s a hard task as all the starters are amazing! Two of us shared 4 apps and were over stuffed. Easily could have had 3 but deciding what not to order would be hard.
Go with a large group and try everything.
Nice neighborhood place but no need to travel as far as we did. Food is authentic but our server was non-existent. Owner is very nice and appreciative.
Love it here ! Authentic greek food / wine / spirits. Try Assyritiko white wine from Santorini or Mastiha Liquer on the rock after dinner !
Great meal! Came here last week and liked it so much I went back this week.
We were seated at a table for 2 in their backyard patio, which is enclosed, air conditioned and very comfortable. The server was very attentive throughout the meal. Recommendations were spot on. The cocktails were tasty and refreshing, especially the Opa Rose and Myko-jito. We had the zucchini and eggplant chips and the red beets for appetizers. Dinner was Lavraki white fish for us both. For dessert we shared baklava - yum! We would return again!
Ate on a Wednesday night - Restaurant was super busy and tables very tight. Service a bit slow. But waiter very nice and let us move tables when a quieter area of the room had a table available. Good food.
It was much too noisy - table behind us were older BUT so loud, we couldn’t talk and left before dessert.
Excellent food, Decent wine choices, Decent value. Make you feel like a neighborhood regular!
Highly recommended neighborhood Greek restaurant. The food is amazing, Greek focused value wine list is great, and the service is friendly.
