Greek dining is as social an experience as it is culinary. Mezedes/Tapas are the centerpiece of Chef Christos’ menu, influenced by his travels throughout the Greek Isles.
YEFSI features the traditional and contemporary Greek specialties, such as grilled whole fish, seafood, prime chops, meats and an eclectic selection of contemporary appetizers.
YEFSI Estiatorio in Eastchester, New York - lead by Executive Chef/Owner Christos Christou - is our newest addition to our original location in New York City.
The Eastchester restaurant is closed, yet it accepted a reservation on open table .
I was asked to review my experience at Yefsi. I can't. Despite a confirmed Open Table reservation, the restaurant was closed. No explanation.
Made a Rez on OpenTable. Place was closed. Can't recommend the experience on a Friday night.
Restaurant was closed and nobody had called to tell us. Very disappointed as it was our daughter's birthday dinner.
Went to Yesfi for a birthday dinner. The food was phenomenal and the service was perfect. Very nice people which made this birthday dinner one to remember.
A very delicious and enjoyable restaurant. Staff was very nice.
Great food and service
Food and wine were good and service had improved when we dined on a Saturday night at Yefsi. This time, the waiter remembered to serve our salad first and then, after we had finished serving the salad, served our appetizer. Last time, both the warm appetizer and the salad were served at the same time at the very small table for two. Bottles of red wines start at $38, fairly steep, but our Merlot was good. We especially enjoyed the Greek salad, reminding us of the salads we had loved while visiting Greece. Feta sto fourno was tasty but better last time, when the tomato was chopped instead of two small slices below the eggplant puree. We liked the Lavraki (Branzino) and the pasta me elies. The wait staff promptly refilled our water glasses and cleaned the table between courses.
Wanted to try something new, and used Valentine Day as a perfect opportunity. YEFI, didn't disappoint. I love Greek food and the food was outstanding, my daughter was trying it for the first time and she loved everything she tried. My wife, experimented with a new dish she has never had and also, found her meal to be very very good. The drinks were made perfect and the wine that was suggested hit the mark perfectly. I would also like to state that the service and especially our waitress was on point and did a terrific job. If your in the Westchester area and want good authentic Greek food, this is one place you should consider.
first time visiting yefsi on valentine's day. it was a lovely dinner and great bottle of wine, although the waiter did recommend a pricey one. food is delicious and fresh. service was wonderful. simply decor, nothing too trendy or hip. will definitely return.
the good: appetizers, which are for the most part the Greek standbys - well done; greek dishes on the menu are also fairly reliable it seems
the less good: the mains - my son and I had the ribeye. Even for a ribeye, incredibly fatty, a very thin cut and just not well done
the pretty marginal: the service. busboys who stack plates on the table as they clear, putting all the silverware together. this is something you'd expect at a diner, not at a restaurant that comes out to be $50+ a person. waiters who disappear for 20 mins but who you can see standing around in the back talking.
i guess there was a reason this place was 2/3 empty on a Friday . . . :( it would be so easy for them to do better.
Since we had visited Greece and loved the freshly prepared fish and vegetables, we were intrigued to visit YEFSI. We liked very much our red wine and Greek food. The eggplant appetizer was delicious. We enjoyed the traditional Greek salad, with very good feta and luscious tomatoes, even in winter. Although we had requested specifically to be served first the appetizer and then the salad, both were served at once. We ate the hot appetizer first. As entrees, we chose branzino, which was excellent, served with a choice of one of several side dish choices. We also liked the pasta dish, egg noodles with flavorful tomato sauce and olives. The restaurant was very noisy and very busy, causing us to decide not to wait for dessert and coffee. We will go back.
An excellent variety of Greek inspired dishes with an authentic menu and pleasant dining room.
Love the New York Yefsi so I am glad to have this delicious restaurant up here in Eastchester.
Been to Yefsi Eastchester many times and as always great Greek food and wine, excellent attentive service, this Yefsi restaurant always hits the spot. Having been to the Yefsi in Manhattan several times over the years and being there only last week I find the manhattan establishment to be a bit of a hit and miss when it comes to the food and service. Maybe they should take a few tips from their colleagues in Eastchester about caring and putting the customer first. Yefsi Eastchester keep up the great work and can't wait to taste the new dishes from the upcoming menu.
Everything everyone had at the table was delicious . We had the calimari and zucchini and eggplant chips for appetizers. I had the porkchop that was delicious the other two people had a shrimp dish with orzo and chicken souvlaki both very tasty
octopus app was amazing - best octopus i've ever eaten!! greek fries never disappoint either!
Unexceptional. Annoyingly patronizing service. Fairly boring and non-traditional standard Greek dishes. Service was slow even the place was hopping with too much staff.
Birthday dinner with friends on a Thursday night. Attentive wait staff and delicious food. While entries of meatballs and fish were tasty, you could easily fill the table with appetizers to share. Would definitely return
Great first experience - we were even offered a drink or desert from the owner but we were too full- and they insisted we remind them next time of taking them o their offer !
Always a pleasure. Never disappointed. Staff is very friendly, courteous and efficient Fish and lamb dishes very good. eggplant chips with yogurt dip is a great appetizer for a group.
Very good Mediterranean cuisine. Takes the Greek a step further than just seafood. Octopus is perfectly done. The dips are tasty and varied. Lamb shank is tender and well cumined. Kabobs a tad dry.
My mom and I loved the authentic delicious food and excellent service. A delightful dinner.
Great neighborhood place; excellent food, reasonable prices, great wine list . Service and ambiance are wonderful!
Authentic Greek cuisine, well prepared and presented. Very friendly and attentive service.
Terrible service. Took two hours to get our food. Food was absolutely horrible. There were 10 giant uncooked pieces of garlic in my food.
Loved it. Our Anniversary and we could not have enjoyed it more
Overall a great find. Really great service and very easy food.
This was a gem. Food and service both very good. We'll be back soon!
Love love love the food.
I had the moussaka was wonderful, tasted very authentic. There is a lovely gal named Kayla on the wait staff who could not have been any better. She made the experience an amazing one.
I would certainly go back!
This is my 2nd time dining at YEFSI and I had another great experience. This time I came to celebrate my parents 38th Anniversary. We ordered the eggplant chips and octopus both are a must. We also ordered the Salmon, Veal and Linguine and the Moussaka. Everything was delicious. I cant wait to go back and try more things off of the menu. The staff is amazing and provide great service.
The food was very tasty. They have a very wide variety of starters. The Halloumi cheese starter was exceptionally good. We have had it in many places but this was probably the best we have had. The shrimp Saganaki was really fabulous. So we're the Giant Lima beans. The lamb and vegetable stew (main course) was a special. It was really soft and tasted very good. The salmon was very good too. They have a reasonably good wine list.
The service was truly outstanding, very personalized and attentive to our needs.
The manager was very nice and caring too.
This was the best Greek food (and experience) that we have had in Westchester and NYC.
We would recommend it to anyone who wants to have a great dinner experience.
The best AUTHENTIC Greek restaurant in Westchester. The food was tasty, the service was unsurpassed. Very similar to Ditmar Blvd Restaurant Row in Queens without traveling. Highly recommend this restaurant. What a Gem.
Don't fret about parking, they have a valet to take your car from the front door. This large Mediterranean restaurant serves authentic Greek fare. The salads are fresh and large, the fish fresh and simply prepared comes with a side dish. The string beans in tomato sauce or delicious french fries. Friendly service.
The service and food was very good. We will definitely go back.. often.
Best Greek food I've ever had. A bit pricey but it's a special restaurant. I highly recommend the Yefsi Chips, the lamb chops and the appetizer with the assortment of various dips. The absolutely best tzatziki. Can't wait to go back.
The food was excellent! The service was a little slow, but the place was jam packed! So, it was reasonable. We will definitely go back!:)
My husband and I found the service very attentive, food well seasoned and hearty. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience.
Enjoyed another wonderful meal (and took home another to enjoy)!
