Ye Olde College Inn
exactly what our group of 12 was looking for…quality food, fair prices, fun atmosphere .
good house champagne, the shrimp in the shrimp and grits was a bit rubbery to me but all good in general
Excellent as always. Very consistent, delicious and fresh food. I’ve yet to be disappointed. The redfish special currently on the menu was amazing. Covered with crab meat and shrimp; over eggplant and pasta with a light creamy sauce....mmm!
The food is fantastic as well as the service. Jimmy knows the menu and will not steer you wrong. He is a fantastic waiter. great bar. wonderful appetizers like oysters blue. Many great dishes, but we love crawfish Delacroix with a pan fired piece of puppy drum, fantastic sauce. It is the best. Sticky toffee dessert is also great. we have been many times. this is a place locals love, and visitors do not know what they are missing, if the want a classic New Orleans meal. Good parking. well worth the trip
College Inn is a dependable restaurant. There's a mix of families, couples, locals and visitors. The food is excellent, not flashy or too trendy. It is one of the louder restaurants I've been to lately which is problematic.
Great experience we will be definitely return.
Love this place. Always fresh and delish. I tend to eat the Fit Fish which has green beans and tomatoes right out of their garden. The place is charming and service top notch. You know it’s good since I am a local and could go anywhere in town.
Food was great, although it did take a little bit of time for the entrees to come to the table. Great atmosphere, parking right outside the restaurant. Friendly wait staff, clean.
One of my wife and I’s favorite places! We made it tradition to go every time we’re home in New Orleans
Tim,our server was very nice, polite and Professional.
He went the extra mile, to tell my husband ,
of one of your beers on Tap.
We LOVE your Restaurant!
Braised brisket was dry and tough. Chicken breast was undercooked. Bread pudding very good.
as always, jimmy made a great experience even better!
This place holds a special place in my heart as my great grandfather started it in 1933. The owners who took over in 2005 have kept the neighborhood feel and elevated the food. My family loves to dine at the College Inn. We will be back!
Food was excellent. The wait was just a little long but they were extremely crowded which also is a sign of the excellent food and value they provide.
Wonderful...as always! Food was hot and delicious and plentiful. It was a busy Friday night but Waitress was very attentive.
Food, service and ambiance is always good here.
Always love to eat at Ye Olde College Inn! Best food, best value, best of everything and i get to see my friends there. My favorite dish is the Crawfish Delacroix and it never disappoints me. Best servers! Great all around experience whether a local or a tourist!
They served food too fast, we had all our appetizers & entree at same time!! Very rushed
Always great seafood and onion rings fun place and great bar. Like to go about once a month. Real neighborhood restaurant
This place feels like home, great New Orleans atmosphere. Love the service, staff, & of course the food!!!
Food was yummy. Jimmy was an excellent waiter. It was a very nice evening out
Great food. Very fresh. Local ingredients
Sat right away even with a large party! Staff was excellent and food came out extremely fast! Everyone enjoyed dinner and cocktails.
We love the food and wait staff at Ye Olde College Inn. We had reservations for 2 tables (8 / table) and when we arrived, our table was ready and waiting for us. Food was excellent, as always. Tim, our waiter, was very attentive to our table and got food / drinks out promptly.
Favorite local restaurant with the best dishes and great chef.
We needed a place that would take a reservation after 9pm, and Ye Olde College Inn did! Food was decent and service outstanding. On a Saturday night, however, the noise level was high. We are a family of five, so not a problem for us, but would not recommend for an intimate or romantic outing. Overall good experience!
Love everything about it! Our go-to place for visitors and local friends!
Ye Olde College Inn is like a college friend you have not seen for a long time; Once you get there, it is great
to remember how nice life can be. Our waiter Jimmy is the best; he has been there a long time and always remembers us; his suggestions are always out of the park; the owner John B can be found most evenings enjoying his dinner at the bar and greeting old friends who drop by for dinner. Home grown vegetables and herbs add so much to each dish and the award winning bread pudding finishes the meal in great fashion.
Great memorabilia and great fun every time I go.
We took friends who haven’t been to Ye Old College Inn. We had a great time. Jimmy, our server, is absolutely without a question, the BEST!!!!
Pat & Tony met Jimmy. Jimmy met their expectations.
Food is delicious: lamb shank is generous; I love the crawfish Mac n cheese, so had the Ceaser Salad with shrimp—excellent.
Desert was their bread pudding—-yummy.
Thanks to this great staff. Love your place.
Btw: there is a fresh garden where veggies come from.
Considering the large crowd, our 6 pm table was ready at 6:20, so Open Table was certainly the way to rsvp. Others waited much longer
The place was great really enjoyed that oyster poboy
Thursday, Jul 18 th we had Monica or Melissa, I believe.
She wAs so calm and wAs EXCELLENT!
1st booth on right at 6 pm.
. My daughter, Jessica Joyce booked for 5 of us.
The booth was too crowded for 5 people , especially 3 men and I was hanging off booth and left handed.
The chicken dish was delicious!
The BBQ brisket was not BBQ.
Misrepresented that dish!
I am from Texas and that WAS NOT BBQ.
My son said it was a pot roast and took it to a friend.
The lemon orzo pasta was why I ordered chicken.
My husband loved the hamburger steak and ordered it again in Tuesday 23rd at 4 pm.
My daughter had the filet and ordered it again on Tues .
I never order chicken when I go out.
Friend had Oyster poorboy and loved it!
We liked it sooo much ,
we were going to come back on Monday for lunch, but not open.
I had your great gumbo on Tues.
it was A perfect roux,
Not too salty and an exactly correct thickness, for my taste!
I ordered the Red fish special with noodles on Tuesday.
I loved that it was served in a broth ,
not a heavy butter or cream sauce.
Very creative Asian flare! Excellent!
My husband and kids had not been in years .
They were all born and raised in NOLA
and it is DEFINITELY one of our new FAVORITES!
LAST BUT NOT LEAST , JOHNNY IS
NEW “ALL TIME”FAVORITE Waiter
OF ALL THE PLACES WE DINE!
WE will return very soon!
Thanks for the fabulous meals!
Have been to Ye Olde College Inn many times. I forgot that I am always disappointed by the food. The appetizers are ridiculously overpriced: 6 onion rings for $6. Barbecue shrimp: $12 for 6 small shrimp on top of 2 pieces of bread with some sauce on top.
The main: fish with corn masque chou. meh!
At least the dessert was good. Very loud even at a corner table.
Great experience! Great food and Great Drinks! We had friends in from out of town and they loved it. A must for anyone who likes good food
My family and I have dined at Ye Olde College Inn for years and have always found the quality of the food and service to be excellent. As an added bonus the restaurant is family friendly and offers options for young children, not to mention an excellent martini for fatigued parents.
Food as usual was excellent. The waitress was new. We ordered a bottle of wine and she brought us each a glass. Other than that we had a Great Meal.
We will definitely be back again.
the daily special, fish on a rissoto/shrimp kept me awake the night. Thw rissorto was so thick that it didn't digest for hours. Our party's other main courses were very good and enjoyable. Desserts were OK but not any better than that
Always a great meal. Ask for Jimmy. He is the best waiter!
Service was great.
Fish of the Day (Sheephead) was delicious.
Nice wine list
New Orleans Classic.
Fun restaurant for entertaining out of town guests.
