What a wonderful surprise! We are locals and are loyal customers of George’s for breakfast. We were looking for a new dinner option and were impressed with FB’s menu selections. Our meal was fantastic! I had the tuna tacos and Atlantic Cod. Both were phenomenal. My husband had the summer salad and crab cakes and remarked that both were delicious. We saved room for desert and I had the peanut butter bomb and my husband had the banana whiskey cake. Both were awesome! We will definitely add this to our go to restaurants in Cape May.

Had a very good meal although it is on the high price side. Our server Brandon was excellent and very attentive to our needs and requests. Very pleased that they finally accept credit cards and are no longer cash only, especially when a dinner for four with appetizers will be approximately $200 - $250 with tax and a generous tip.

Did a mix of fantastic appetizers—each better than the previous. Great service on every count. So friendly. Met Pete the chef and reconnected with Brandon. Requested and got window seat for the fireworks. Can't wait to go again.

Our meal was just meh. We think the preparation has changed since prior years - for example, the WTF and Greek salads were very different and not as good as they have been. Portion sizes were all over the place with the cod dish insufficient to satisfy you and the pork chop too much food. The spicy feta was awful and seemed as though it had been in the fridge for a few days. So..... although we have been YB fans for a number of years, we would recommend you go elsewhere.

It was a party of 4. We arrived 615pm. Had 8pm concert tix.

The Summer salad was drowned in dressing. One salad was forgotten. Had to hunt down a waiter for that.

Pork belly over cooked. Steak frites ok. Chicken breast a bit over cooked. Wasabi sauce on cod too assertive.

And we waited so long for dessert it had to be taken to go.

Not the quality we’ve experienced in the past.

Second time and excellent on both occasions. The tuna taco and mac n cheese apps are super. Table was ready on time and it was a special bday. Brandon the owner took care of us and made the evening so enjoyable. All of our dishes were outstanding , the steak was like butter to cut and the duck just as good....this is a Gem of restaurant and we have visited all in Cape May. Keep up the cuisine and service . Look forward to our next visit

One of the best places in Cape May. I consider myself a tough critic and YB didn’t disappoint. The food was outstanding. We tried several items from both apps and entrees and all were delicious.

YB has a bit of an eclectic menu. We thoroughly enjoyed it! I enjoyed the cod and my husband enjoyed duck. The waitress was lovely. The atmosphere was relatively quiet. It was easy to have a conversation. It's a BYOB restaurant as are many of the Cape May restaurants. I highly recommend eating here!

YB doesn’t disappoint. The food is creative, fresh and delicious. I love the fact they can run out of a popular dish because it means the food is prepared daily and not stockpiled in a freezer. The atmosphere is intimate, clean and stylish. Plenty of beach front parking is available with dinner reservations as the beach crowd has usually thinned out by then. Perfect place for date night.

From start to finish we had an amazing experience at Y.B. No wait at all for our reservation & the atmosphere was pleasantly quiet & calming! Brandon, our waiter, & seemingly jack of all trades, was knowledgeable & attentive! Even though we were a small party of two, I could easily see having a larger group enjoy themselves here as well!

We dined on pork belly & tuna tacos as appetizers...then enjoyed a hanger steak special with duck fat fried French fries (yum!) & a perfectly cooked piece of salmon over pesto noodles! Unfortunately, neither of us saved room for dessert, but we will be back very soon & save room, the dessert menu looked great too!

This was our second visit to yb. The first time we thought the food was exceptional. This time-- not so much. Maybe we had leftovers from Restaurant Week? And we thought it was pricy for what we got. Our server (the yb) was pleasant and courteous. Since we had let him know, it was our anniversaries, we thought he might have made the meal a little more special--with a glass of champagne or a candle on dessert .

Hi Linda, thank you for your feedback! We do appreciate all of our guests input and use it to improve our future service. However, looking back at your order it does not appear that your table even ordered any items of the Restaurant Week menu, so we cannot attribute the inconsistency to “leftovers”. Furthermore, I do want to inform you that The Yb is a BYOB establishment and unfortunately we do not, nor are we allowed to carry/sell champagne or any other alcohol.

Party of 4 for restaurant week! Katie was our server, she was perfect, we added two extra apps (totally didn’t need them but dining out is special!) She recommenced the pork belly and the crab cake apps and they were PERFECT. We also ordered the duck fat fries because our eyes are bigger than our stomachs. The only thing that wasn’t perfect was the MUSIC! Please add something else to the playlist so we don’t have to listen to the same singer and the same song (Pack Up The Louie by Caro Emerald) 3-4 times over the course of the meal - this alone made it feel a bit like we were in Purgatory. Other than the music everything was perfect, again 😍 we will be back!

Our dinner tonight at YB was incredibly delicious. Accolades to Peter , the chef. The new summer salad appetizer with mixed greens, strawberries, apple slices, walnuts, goat cheese, and a blueberry dressing was wonderful. They should keep it on the menu all the time. My husband also enjoyed the tuna tacos. We ordered a duck entree and the filet minon and shared. They were both so tasty and cooked perfectly. Katie, the waitress, is super attentive and friendly ; a real sweetheart. We always have a wonderful time dining here. We highly recommend dining at YB in Cape May.

This is a very conditional review. Our appetizer and 2 small plates were served at the same time making for a crowded table and messy plates. The salad was way over dressed, although the dressing was delicious. We were not given fresh utensils and had to ask for our water glasses to be filled. All surprising since there was only one other table filled. It was towards the end of the evening but I know they can do better. The food definitely deserves better service.

I would definitely recommend YB! I went based off of a recommendation from Hawk Haven (a nearby vineyard) and would go back again. They are BYOB, and the service was excellent. I also really liked the ambiance of the restaurant. Food-wise, I'd highly recommend the pork belly appetizer, the Greek salad (that's a good one to share), and the tuna. The portions are pretty large, so come hungry!

The crab cake "appetizer" was disappointing. The app was four crab balls with little crab meat. The Salmon entree had a strange flavor that could have been from the Pesto that did not compliment the fish.
The pork chop entree was excellent.

Abbreviated menu before peak season, but enough to pick from. Shared large greek salad (smaller portion would have been enough, so we took the rest home) and yummy dessert; both of us enjoyed the tuna.

We had dinner at YB on 5/12/19. The food was outstanding. The salmon was seared with a light crust and had melt in your mouth flavor. The green beans were very fresh, cooked with butter and small pieces of sweet onions. The service was attentive, but not in the least hovering. Bringing an old bottle of wine, our cork crumbled. Brandon did a wonderful job salvaging it. If I were still in Cape May, I'd go back today.

I have am celiac and was delighted to read so many good reviews about YB in regards to the GF food choices on their menu. Many things can be GF very easily and this chef undoubtly knows how to cook to make food taste delicious. It was great to have so many options, not just one thing that was gluten free or having a GF menu which can be terrible some places. Our server Brandon was very knowledgable and attentive to us even with a very large party next to us to attend to. We would definitely return and told our family who lives close by to go give it a try for themselves.

Our most recent dinner at YB was a treat. The updated decor gave it a brighter appearance, although they unfortunately still have those very uncomfortable metal chairs. The new menu had some nice additions as well as some old favorites. We initially were disappointed to see the swordfish seviche tacos were no longer on the appetizer menu, but the tuna taco appetizers were equally delicious and a nice change. The Greek salad was as delicious as we remembered it. I had the Crab Cake duo as my entree and have to say they were the best crab cakes I've ever had. Two 4 ounce cakes of delectable crab meat with a delicious crunchy coating and a scrumptious version of a tartar sauce. My husband's pork chop was perfectly done; moist and flavorful. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will be back again soon!

Edward, we’re very sorry you feel that way. I am sure the server meant it in a way that was trying to convey that your request was “not a problem”..and not meaning anything negative by it. We thank you for your kind understanding in the miscommunication.

We had the tuna taco appetizer. Yum. So light and tasty. For dinner, my hubby had the tuna with sobe noodles. Again, the flavors were so light and refreshing. I had the salmon. It had a crispy skin and seasoned perfectly. I loved that the sides included spinach and asparagus. Not typical. Every thing was very good. Our server was warm and pleasant. The dining room was smaller than I expected but it made it cozy and quaint. The outside tables had a couch on one side of the table. A metal chair on the other side which I did not prefer as it was cold. Considering it was very cold outside, I did not prefer the cold chair. Overall, i loved it and would definitely go again!
