The design of the restaurant is a modern interpretation of the old Chinese teahouse. At the same time, the lighting and seating embodies the atmosphere of a vibrant ‘chatter shop’, similar to the traditional Hong Kong dim sum restaurants.
The restaurant offers Cantonese dishes with a modern influence, with an extensive range of steamed, baked, grilled and fried dim sum such as Yauatcha’s signature dishes of Scallop shui mai and Venison puffs.
The Taste of Yauatcha menu is designed for two people to share and is offered from Monday to Thursday between 2pm and 6pm for £28.88.
Tasting menu including a cocktail £38 per person

Felt a bit overrated for a Michelin star restaurant. We went for the tasting menu, which was fine, but not outstanding.
Food at Yauatcha is always incredible and we loved it this time too.... BUT the service was below par for such a good restaurant. We had to wait to be asked for drinks and during the meal had to wave our hands several times to try and order more drinks. The food was delicious but three of us ordered one menu and one ordered the vegetarian. The three people with the same food all got their food very quickly but the vegetarian food came ages after..... basically leaving one person sitting for over 25 minutes with no food while everyone else was eating. We flagged this to two members of staff and received a 'it's coming' response with no attempt to remedy the situation further. At the end of the meal the staff had remembered that we were there for a special birthday and delivered a very lovely dessert board with candle and 'happy birthday' message which was lovely. I hope this was a one off with regards service as the location, food and cocktails are sublime.
Food was very good as always, however all the plates and glassware were on the sticky side. Not sure what’s gone wrong in the dishwasher?
The Food and the service were outstanding. The staff is very attentive and caring.
Absolutely stellar meal coupled with perfect service. Everything about our evening, from the cocktails at the bar before sitting down, to the meal and service at the table, to the farewell at the door on the way out was flawless. Highly recommend.
Service was lacking a bit for the price! Very busy night though!
Overall not the best experience. Service was poor and we were charged when asked for extra pancakes as there was duck left!
Waiters took a long time to bring food. The tables are far too close to each other and we were between two very noisy people which spoilt the atmosphere.
Service charge 13% is ridiculous and no one should pay it.
Wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend it.
A great Restaurant, this time we habe been twice there and really exceptional, food, service, ambience..all superb
Restaurant is too dark. Dessert and food is very good
We had lunch in February 2019. The food was excellent and the best dim sum items we have come across. The service was good but perhaps a bit slow. However the servers were all very polite and helpful. We had mostly dim sum items along with the veggie dish of beans and eggplant. No dish was disappointing and we felt the price was quite reasonable.
Expensive but the food and overall experience is out of this world ! I would go back at the drop of a hat
As a Chinese, I was very positively surprised by the twist they put on traditional Cantonese Dim Sum
Average experience - everything just felt really rough around the edges - service was basic - the music choice really odd - enjoyed the food but no real incentive to go back again.
Food was lovely, really enjoyed it but the set menu lacked a vegetarian option. The waitress had to check , and luckily they could oblige.
We had the set menu and it was very good value for money. The rest of the menu looked really exciting and I would definitely return to try some of the other dishes!
The food was amazing as always, especially the dessert. The waiter was kinda rude though and we had to ask for things at least twice. But overall, it was a good experience.
Highly overrated. The food we had (Chines New Year menu) was not very good - the dessert was probably the worst dish.
Overall overrated and overpriced.
Food was amazing, service was excellent. On the expensive side but worth every penny.
Everything was great! Strongly recommended
I must admit I don’t like to write a bad review but am a fraid to say it just wasn’t worth the money , me and my partner had the special Chinese New Year menu , the starters was lovely but they did forget one to which they relised and brought it about 10mins after we finished the others. I hadn’t finished it yet and one of our waitresses already started cleanering my partners plate and laying down mains which I don’t know about everyone else but to me its is a bit rude to start clearing the table if someone is still eating, the mains were not great, I think it lacked in a lot flavour and the dessert was okay. It was quite loud but I exspected that as it was Chinese New Year. The restaurant looked lovely tho and the rest of the service ( the bar , and being seated ) was brilliant. But am afraid for the £160 bill including an service charge which was around £18 I was a bit Disappointed as I wanted a really special night for my partner and I.
The venison puffs and duck salad are amazing.
Great restaurant, food perfect, service good but not great.
Fabulous food with great service. A great way to celebrate the Chinese New Year.
Impeccable service. It was pouring outside on Chinese New Year and the hostess took pity on us and allowed us in 45 minutes early. The service went from good to great with nothing being too much trouble......right down to children's chop-sticks. I'm happy to say that this place seems to have matured from "hot" London restaurant into - gradually - an older statesman of the restaurant scene. A bit of an institution. Great food and......we even got our celeb-hit as we were sat next to Christian Bale. Our kids couldn't quite believe how much Batman likes Dim Sum.
Great dinner, I do not miss the opportunity every time I come to London
Weird discrepancy between quite refined food and the vibe of happy hour at the Travelodge. I used to like this place it was fun, but stylish. Now it’s just naf. The food still quite nice but hard to enjoy given the atmosphere.
Excellent dim sum, great embrace and wonderful services
Overall very good
Professional and well run.
The good exceeded my expectations, and the dim sum were of very high quality. Too often dim sum are leaden and dull. These are not.
It was a nice place - but I think I have better dim sum else where.
Group of friends on a weekend away. The food was excellent - interesting, delicious and well presented. The welcome staff were lovely but the staff in the restaurant itself were off hand and I didn’t feel very helpful or interested. They were however to give them credit good at checking for allergies as a member of the group had an allergy. The tables are low to sit at but the restaurant is beautiful and well thought out.
Overall thoroughly recommend the food!
The food is good as usual, service is also okay. Just the decor is getting old, and the space is quite crowded. People are all talking loud, it gets a bit annoying after a while. The music is also quite loud, I think that is why people are talking loud, cuz they have to.
But overall food is good as usual.
Our waiter Roshan is the best!
I have dined here many times and on this occasion the service felt slow. The bill was incorrect twice but the staff were friendly. More gluten-free options are required, as all Yauatcha could offer my guest was Vegetable Fried Rice.
Roshan was very sweet & helpful. He attended to all our needs & anticipated them as well.
Very good service!
A bit pricey x food was average x more for younger age
The food is not so great. We had the menu for the new chinese year, the rice was very sticky and sweet and we couldn’t eat it, the fried rolls weren’t very nice and overall not so great food. The only thing we like was the desert. The price doesn’t reflect quality at all. In top of this they asked us to release the table before 2hrs because there were others waiting. Overall extremely disappointed. It supposed to be a great experience
It was lovely, our only issue was that the table and chairs were so low, we were all cleaning!
pricey, small portions - would not recommend it
we were allocated the downstair floor
Hadn't been here for at least 12 years but really enjoyed the experience
One of my fav restaurants in London and it’s a cool joint without the snobbiness you get in other places full of posers and wannabes, which includes the staff.
The squid, dim sum and the desserts are always on point.
I can’t fault this place but the ONLY thing is the MINOR fly problems on the basement floor which really needs to be sorted!!!
We came for a Chinese New Year lunch .
Food was exquisite , delicious .
Service exceptional. 10/10
