About Yardbird Southern Table & Bar
Bringing the best fried chicken and freshest farm ingredients from Florida and Georgia to the table since 2011, Yardbird has since garnered the praises of the James Beard Foundation as a semi-finalist for “Best New Restaurant South” and as one of Bon Appétit’s “50 Best New Restaurants” in 2012. Yardbird sticks to the values of tradition, family, and community with a menu of “soul-nurturing” dishes intended for sharing. A warm, comforting environment lets guests feel relaxed and at home while dining at Yardbird. Southern touches add to the nostalgia, like antique candlestick holders, wildflowers on all the tables, and handmade light fixtures outfitted with Edison bulbs in Mason jars.

Yardbird Southern Table & Bar Ratings and Reviews
We made reservations for our anniversary. The food was great and so was the service. I was however a little bit disappointed that nobody acknowledged that it was our anniversary while we were there. Not even a 'happy anniversary' from the staff. Why ask if there is a special occasion you were celebrating?
Yardbird Southern Table & Bar was good, but I expected more from the fried chicken. I participated in the Miami Spice menu (appetizer, meal, dessert). Service was fast and attentive, presentation of food was clean, fried green tomato was delicious, fried chicken is not your typical hearty fried chicken - expected more of that southern feel but dessert was satisfying.
The deviled eggs were some of the best restaurant deviled eggs I’ve had. For some reasons restaurants don’t add enough relish and onion to their filling. The cauliflower mash was fantastic, but the Brussel sprouts had way too much syrup. Overall a good meal, the atmosphere is lively and it can be hard to hear.
Food was great but very pricey. Service was excellent and they had a great cocktail selection.
Pork Belly "BLT" - it was prob the thing I liked the most from here but its an app so it's not a sandwich, it's 3 small round portions... prob two bites each one.
Mac and cheese - it was mac and cheese, not bad but nothing amazing
Chicken and waffles - shareable size unless you are two giant men. So at $36 it's not too bad if you share. Pretty delicious, both the chicken and the waffles Were some of the best I've had.
This place gets packed so call ahead for reservations. I called Saturday morning for a 2pm reservation and was seated right away when I got there, looked like people were waiting a while after we sat down.
I went to Yardbird as part of the Miami Spice, 3 course dinner 39$ menu. The menu was extremely limited and not very healthy. The server misinformed us on the meals, including telling us that a burger entree did not come with potato (fries), even though the menu said it did. The first course, which was deviled eggs or fried green tomatoes was okay. There were two of us, so we shared these. The fried green tomato plate was fatty and greasy, I have had it before as Yardbird, it was better on other visits.
The fried chicken entree, which should have been delicious, again based on other visits, was not crispy, and was actually rubbery. No quality control. Our other choice, a burger plate was extremely greasy, nut it was served with a cup of lukewarm fries.
Dessets were just as they were posted on the menu, but the fried oreo icecream was completely uninspired. The nutella beignets were delicious and freshly prepared!
The big insult was being charged 4$ for a cup of tea, even though the Miami Spice menu stated that coffee or tea were included. The server, who was very polite, but with attitude insisted he had to charge for tea. The manager, who I tried to engage, was busy talking with another customer and did not come to our table.
Kept hearing about this restaurant, but I found it really meh. Fine fried chicken, deviled eggs, but not special or different than you can find anywhere that serves southern food. My cocktail, the blackberry bourbon lemonade, was nice. Restaurant is very noisy. Our server was good.
The decor of the restaurant was enjoyable. Even though they serve southern comfort food the staff treated the guests like any other 5 star restaurant. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. The food was delicious! I highly recommend the fried chicken which is what they are known for but I did find the collard greens to be a bit on the saltier side. The fried green BLTs are a must! Highly recommend.
Fantastic visit to this restaurant. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary. The cake we ordered with bacon in it was to die for. Still dreaming of the amazing taste. Yes. BACON Absolutely incredible. Atmosphere was perfect. Service was on at all times. The team looked like they were having a good time And that is most Important. Please open one of these in Toronto Canada. ;)
I started my meal with the devil eggs for an appetizer. I did not like the devil eggs at all. I order the swine burger, which was great! The burger while not very big in size is full of flavor and satisfying. The burger came with a side of fries. My friend ordered the chicken “N” watermelon “N waffles, which were great as well. The chicken was seasoned just right and not too dry. The sauce on the side compliments the chicken very well and adds a little kick. The watermelon were juicy and had a hit of spice to them which was something different. Lastly the waffles were soft and tasty without being too sweet. It was my first time eating at Yardbird but it won’t be my last. The service was good.
I made the reservation early and needed to change from 6 to 8 people and it was fantastic that they did last minute! The restaurant was so hot that it was uncomfortable to eat. The A/C was 81. I understand that the is Fl but I have been to this place many times before and it was not this bad. Service was mediocre...our drinks were spilt constantly. The fried chicken was amazing as was the Mac n cheese. The crab cakes were very fishy and unpalatable for 2 diners. Bad day maybe, as my previous times have all been exceptional.
We love YardBird! We always recommend this place to our friends visiting or new to the area. We had a co-worker get together for Brunch yesterday and it was delicious! The fried green BLT appetizer is to die for! My husband got the Chicken and Waffles (a must!!) and I had the chicken biscuits. Everything was amazing.
I ate at the Yardbird in Las Vegas recently and was so excited to try it again in Miami. I was not let down! The fried chicken is THE best fried chicken I have ever had and of course the Fried Green tomatoes are a MUST HAVE. The drink selection is excellent. I like that it's a casual atmosphere which is good for a date or just friends getting together for some local home cookin'. The seating can be a bit tight for 2 as the tables are quite close together but we had a good time seeing what other's around us were ordering and it was fun to talk to other diners about their food too. Excellent food and service!
Rafael was FANTASTIC, and took VERY good care of us!!!
Attention to detail to the MAX! My Avocado Toast could have had the fat removed from the prosciutto though. That's my only challenge with the experience. Otherwise, everything waste including ambiance was WONDERFUL for my husband and I's wedding anniversary weekend. :)
I ate here because of the many rave reviews. As a foodie, it is my opinion that the restaurant is a bit over rated for Southern cuisine. We had the BLT green tomatoes and they were scrumptious. However, everything else was a big disappointment. The fried chicken was tender, but did not have deep flavors. Its crisp was decent-scored a 5 out of 10. The shrimp and grits was lackluster-scored a 5 out of 10. The mac and cheese was dry and simply awful. It was cooked pasta with sparse baked cheese-scored a 1 out of 10. The iced tea was so weak and definitely not on par for Southern sweet tea. The ingredients to distinguish a savory waffle were missing--scored a 3 out of 10. If you are looking to satisfy your taste for Southern (good ole soul food), I recommend that you skip this place. Otherwise, it's decent enough to satisfy your hunger and the service is good.
This was one of the best, if not the best, Chicken & Waffles I've ever had. The chicken was so juicy, even the white meat. It was perfect. And Seeing that it was a cheddar waffle, I was hesitant bc I don't usually like savory waffles, but this was still sweet with just a hint of cheddar. So good! The price is also daunting at $36, but it was enough for 2 people. I absolutely recommend it. So worth it. Would come back in a heartbeat. Fried Green Tomato BLT also delish!
Service was very good but I had to knock a star bc my booth seat was super wet. Soaked through 2 towels and a cloth napkin. Couldn't sit on it, had to sit off to the side. Not necessarily their fault but I wish they had offered another table or something.
