About Yardbird Southern Table & Bar
Bringing the best fried chicken and freshest farm ingredients from Florida and Georgia to the table since 2011, Yardbird has since garnered the praises of the James Beard Foundation as a semi-finalist for “Best New Restaurant South” and as one of Bon Appétit’s “50 Best New Restaurants” in 2012. Yardbird sticks to the values of tradition, family, and community with a menu of “soul-nurturing” dishes intended for sharing. A warm, comforting environment lets guests feel relaxed and at home while dining at Yardbird. Southern touches add to the nostalgia, like antique candlestick holders, wildflowers on all the tables, and handmade light fixtures outfitted with Edison bulbs in Mason jars.

Yardbird Southern Table & Bar Ratings and Reviews
The herb roasted chicken (best I’ve ever had), mac and cheese and fried chicken and waffles were delicious and the desserts were fantastic. The burgers were not good. The service went between great and terrible throughout the meal and oddly our server’s husband and child were seated at the table behind us and the child was standing on his chair screaming throughout a large portion of our meal. Finally towards the end of the meal they left. Overall certain food was very good and the decor is very country cute.
Our visit was phenomenal. The food was delicious. Our server Ishmael was beyond fantastic. I cannot remember the last time I experienced service as attentive, warm & knowedgable as what we received from him. This wasn't our first time at Yardbird but this visit has definitely left a lasting impression on me. I will continue to return and definitely recommend to others.
So the first time that I went to Miami back in March, we were looking up local places and found that Yardbird had some of the best fried chicken in the USA -- so you know that we had to try it. And it was like an out-of-body experience! So flashforward to this Monday, we're in Miami for my birthday -- and Yardbird has to be at the top of the list, right?
Well...not so much this time.
Last time, we ordered the chicken and waffles, and based on some of the Yelp review complaining about the amount of cheese in the waffle, we chose to split a Lewellen's Fine Fried Chicken and a side of Crispy Brussels instead. This time, the chicken was just...okay. I had both thighs and she ate the wing and the drumstick, and there was nothing special about the taste. It was just fried chicken. And the Crispy Brussels were, well, crispy to the point of being blackened and most of the taste was removed. There was a hint of spiced honey on them, but they just felt like I had a plate of hard fried brussel sprouts (which is probably completely accurate).
The service was good and my Watermelon Sling was quite refreshing, but I was definitely disappointed from my previous experience there. Maybe it was because I came on a Monday night, but if I wanted meh chicken and an almost-burned side dish...I could have done it for better than a $40 price tag.
The chicken & waffles are amazing! No complaints at all. The Brussels Sprouts were excellent also. The Mac and Cheese was decent. Wife had the shrimp and grits. She enjoyed the shrimp and the grits, but didn’t enjoy the sauce. Will try something else next time. Great experience overall.
Customer service was extremely great. From the greeter to the server, they were all very friendly. But that's where my satisfaction ended. For all the hype, the food was not great at all. The grits were lumpy and not flavorful. The chicken also lacked flavor. The timing between the appetizer and the main entrees was very long. The food was overpriced. My least enjoyable meal throughout my whole stay in Miami.
The food was crazy good! The brisket and biscuits were amazing. The corn bead was delicious. The chicken and waffles are a must. Everything we ordered was fantastic! Go with people who like to share so you can try more things and go when you are hungry as it’s definitely comfort food.
Our server was also very friendly and helpful.
Definitely recommended. We’ve already booked our return reservation.
We had a wonderful time on a dinner out for our Miami honeymoon trip. Our server was attentive, very friendly, and made great suggestions. His serving assistant was great too. We had the biscuits and fried green tomato blt app, so good! Then fried chicken and short ribs for dinner with crispy brussel sprouts, with more biscuits for our mains. We were impossibly full but it was so worth it! Fresh fruit iced trash and bourbon drinks were great too. Loud place but fun!
Staff was great and fun! Arrived 30 mins earlier than reservation and were sat down right away. Waiter and staff were very pleasant and knowledgeful, food and drinks were great. Absolute wonderful time we had with friends and family! Would definitely recommend
We messed up our opentable reservation- didn't see it said Sunday instead of Saturday. And we got there really early because the only opentable slot was 9:30 but thought we could drink at the bar and maybe a table would open up. The hostesses were amazing and were able to get us a table outside for 5 very quickly- might have just hit it right!
Everything was fantastic but watch out- lots of food so consider sharing and if you are still hungry order more.
I went back on Sunday and picked up a to go order to eat on the plane on the way home.
If you enjoy Southern fried chicken and authentic Southern side dishes to go with it, this is the place to go. Service is outstanding with a number of the staff responding to every request, not just your primary server. The only problem...the selections on the menu are all so inviting that it is easy to over order.
When I hear "One of the Top Restaurants In the state I expect dinner to be expensive. The fried chicken was fantastic, but came alla carte so I needed to buy a side. I ordered the Mac and cheese (a $10 side) that wasn't anything spectacular. The drinks were good, but way too small for the $14 price. Overall, it was good, just not worth the price.
