we have been going to Yank Sing for over 20 years. I cannot say enough to express the most delightful staff and the incredible tasty dishes that come out of the kitchen. We thank the family for all the joy it has brought our family on so many occasions even our doggies have enjoyed dim sum on the patio.
A few of the unforgettable is the sea bass, it melts in your mouth and it is so flavorful you'll want more. All of the shellfish, shrimp, crab, I can go on they are tasty and meaty. The string beans with dried shrimp, best ever. The walnut shrimp is so rich but such a treat. And the dumplings pop with flavor and you bite into them. the duck superb and the pork sandwiches and puffy clouds right on point.
I could go on, but if you have never been to Yank Sing, you need to go before you die. It is an experience beyond any other Dim Sum in the US!
Special annual lunch with former colleagues before seeing ODC’s The Velveteen Rabbit. Food keeps getting better and service was great,
Wonderful food served in a unique setting.
It’s my go-to dim sum when I am in San Francisco
food is good still a little pricey $130.00 for 2.
I would come again for a treat but not a go to place
I have eaten at the Yank Sink in the Rincon Center before. The Yank Sing on Stevenson was not as good. The food carts were limited and the noodle on the Shui Mai was dried out. The egg rolls, custard tarts were excellent. The service was by our waiter was slow to nonexistent. It took a long time to get a Diet Coke. We asked for forks and we had to ask someone else to get them. I felt we did not get value for our money as the service was so bad and the variety was limited.
Best dim sum in the city, but it doesn't come cheap.
Yummy dim sum, as well as great crispy Chinese vegetables!
Out of tarts :(
Use to be great. Service has really gone downhill. Food is good but use to be much better. Definitely could use a new manager to bring it up to where it use to be. I am a 25 plus year customer.
The food is pretty standard and you can get the quality at so many other restaurants. And the prices are about 2x anywhere else. I don’t get why it’s still the most popular place unfortunately.
I understand that it was Thanksgiving Day on the day of our visit and our reserved table was ready for us when we arrived, however, they ran out of much of the food items so we didn’t get to try the things we were looking forward to.
Thanksgiving
We were dining inside but was close to the outside dining. It was really cold and maybe it would help to have one of those patio heaters outside
This is easily one if the best dim sums in SF. I love the old school carts and the food is top notch.
We've been going to Yank Sing Stevenson for many years. The food is always spectacular, and the staff is always welcoming. We hope to return in many years to come. The only complaint we've ever had is that when it's cold outside, it's cold inside, because they leave the door to the patio open. Eating with our coats on is a minor inconvenience for such a good meal.
We took our son here, a tradition when we visit him in San Francisco.
Sadly the service and food was below par. During the last 30 to 45 minutes, we could not even get a server to come serve dim sum to us. It was pretty disappointing.
Great as always
Excellent food and service! Expensive, but tasty.
Convenient and delicious dim sum off of Market
Some of our favorites
Soup dumplings
Shrimp with chive dumplings
Fried pork buns
Shu mai
Chinese broccoli
Jasmine tea
I didn't pay or see the bill, but it was delicious!!
Best Dim Sum I have ever had! A little pricey, however the best ingredients are used. Worth every penny. :)
Best dim sum with the best service. Met up for a late Friday lunch. This place is great for a laid back afternoon while catching up with an old friend!
Not as many carts as usual.
The dumplings did not meet my expectations. The shrimp dumpling and shu mai were dry.
Excellent food and variety of selections. Tables are a little tight together and servers are constantly asking if you want more dishes which can be disrupting at times
The food was very good. They gave us a table that was in a quieter place in the restaurant as we requested. Definitely enjoy the experience.
Outstanding food, a must try. Be ready to engage immediately without explanation though. They come around with carts and you select what you want. Can special order and our success rate was 50% but no complaints as we left full!
Was so disappointed. Our food was lukewarm. Almost every single dish. No excuse for dim sum from trolleys!
Very nice restaurant. Great service. Delicious food.
If you like dim sum - Yang Sing is a must! Be prepared for a full court press of carts swinging your way as soon as you sit down. We asked for a few minutes and beverages before we dug in with gusto. The dim sum is fantastic and hot! Everything was delicious. We especially enjoyed the “best dumplings on the menu” according to the server - which were pork in a broth ...in a dumpling! Needless to say - the dumplings definitely lived up to expectations. Can’t wait to go back!
Lunch was terrific. Energetic dining experience. Lively at 1:30 PM with late lunch crowd. Our main Dim Sum cart operator was Fang. She was awesome. Will return when next in SF.
Excellent dim sum. Place gets crowded quickly so reservations are highly recommended.
great dim sum. Fresh varied excellent. Love coming here.
Staff were attentive.
Restaurant was not overcrowded and staff were not chasing us to pay the the bill. We were friends getting together and enjoyed that we had the extra time to chit chat.
I love coming to Yank Sing on Stevenson Street. The dishes are always good especially the walnut shrimp, the pork buns, the snap peas and my favorite: the sesame balls and mango pudding. Not to be missed! The restaurant has an upscale feel especially for Chinese dim sum. Unfortunately, the day my family came the service was quite slow probably due to it being lunch time. Otherwise, I totally recommend coming here, but be sure to make reservations.
Generations of our family make a special point to eat at Yank Sing when visiting San Francisco. For decades it has maintained its same delicious quality!
The food was good, but that was the most expensive dim sum I have ever eaten. We were all shocked when the bill arrived!
While the Rincon Annex location on Spear Street is more popular, I prefer this Stevenson location. More of a hidden gem. Quieter and less frenetic that Spear Street. Excellent service. Variety of tasty dim sum. Gets very busy and crowded, so reservations are strongly recommended. Then afterwards, take a stroll along Market Street towards the Embarcadero, or visit nearby Salesforce Park to walk off brunch.
Great dim sum! Highly recommend. Be sure to have the signature Shanghai dumplings!
