Staff was very pushy and wouldn't leave us alone. We had dishes interrupting us every 30 seconds which was a lot of pressure on the people at the end of our table. The worst part was the waitress who reached onto someone's plate and spooned hot sauce onto a dumpling without being asked to do so, and that dumpling went to waste because the person didn't want hot sauce in the first place. The food was pretty good but REALLY not worth the cost. Not the best place in SF for dim sum.

Good quality dim sum all be it quite expensive. The selection is somewhat Limited but once again very good quality. Service is attentive. For value this is not a good choice especially if you order the "special items" they have like seabass and such.

Food was amazing! I wish we had saved room for more soup dumplings. We arrived early for our reservation, while the restaurant appeared full, tables were turning and they were able to seat us almost immediately. Food arrived via a steady flow of carts. Everything was very good, but the soup dumplings were amazing. The ginger shavings in vinegar a magic touch of flavor. Everything we tried was very very good. We tried shrimp dumplings - yummy, perfect, thin wrappings. A shared shrimp, a spicy chicken dish and port pot stickers. We were only sorry we couldn’t eat more. The green tea was excellent, we were too busy eating to take pictures.

So reliable. Not inexpensive but the great service and more intimate environment (vs. so many other dim sum joints) is worth it.

Thought a few dishes tasted of the refrigerator- lacking freshness. The duck was over cooked and dry. But the pot stickers are still best of class.

They clearly seem to be trying hard to please.

The food was delicious, not cheap, but the assortment was a bit limited—not the best for dim sum.

I had the pleasure to dine here twice in the last week. The second reservation was for a time within about 30 minutes of closing. While some items may have been missing from the carts coming around, by and large we received most menu items, and service was as friendly as ever, if somewhat more hurried than normal. Big props for servers and management being as attentive as always to the remaining diners.
Yank Sing lunches are always a treat, regardless of the time, and our server Karrie is one of the most efficient and friendliest servers around.

We had 4 dim sum dishes and they all were scrumptious. The pork dumpling with broth in it was wonderful, although it's hard getting the entire thing in my mouth in one bite. The carts kept rolling by but we went slowly, choosing carefully. The fried prawns were delicious. After the chicken curry rolls, we saved room for the custard tarts. I don't know if I've ever enjoyed such a tender, flaky crust.
Expensive, yes, but so worth it. The food has been great at Yank Sing for 40 years.

They have five types of vegetarian dumplings plus a lot of other vegetable dishes, so this is a great choice for someone who is vegetarian or vegan (or doesn't like seafood).

Great food, one of my long time favorite. But, the service this time was pretty slow, the carts took very long one to the other, but manageable. The problem was with the waiters offering drinks and check. Besides this is an incredible food experience with high quality.

The best dim sum I've had. The servers are great at suggesting how to eat the soup dumplings and the duck is the best quality that I've had at a Chinese restaurant in the U.S. I also loved that I could go there on a random weekday for dim sum.

Food was great, menu was not explained, and hard to understand the waitresses on the carts offering the dishes as they rolled by. Would like better descriptions of food on menus, and maybe signs near food on cart to cut the language barrier. Overall it was a new experience and the food was delicious! Will defiantly alter the way I order for next time knowing. What some stuff is now.

This is A Very delicious dim sum restaurant that was recommended to me by a friend. The food was of good quality and really quite tasty. It is very easy to try to sample everything that comes by on the carts, so beware if you go in here hungry. The tab accumulated rather quickly! Overall we were satisfied with every aspect of this place and knew what to expect. A definite yes if you are really into dim sum.

Horrible service. We waited 1/2 hours until a dim sum cart went by or anyone even acknowledged us.

The food was ok, but way overpriced. City View in Chinatown is a much better option.

PS - where are my dining points? What excuse have you trumped up to cheat me out of them?

The Peking Duck by the slice was excellent...the dim sum in general was not the best I've ever had but it was good...there was a good variety of dishes but some of the ones I am used to did not come by while we were there...not sure if we just weren't there long enough but some of the same carts came around multiple times. The soup dumplings, the bao (roast pork buns), and the fried shrimp were good...the shao mai was not that flavorful. Service was pretty good.

We have been dining at Yank Sing for decades at all their locations. This lunch, with out-of-town guests, was a disaster. The food selection was slow, lacking in variety, and the food was sub-par (doughy dumplings, over-fried, heavy eggrolls, etc. The only redeeming feature was the wonderful service we received from Karry and from the Maitre d' who saw to it that plain boiled chicken and rice was prepared for two children. We are rethinking Yank Sing.
