The food was great, but the service, location and utensils/tables were very basic. Looking forward to a reopening!
Heard amazing things and it was decent but did not live up to expectations.
Menu didn't have as many options as the one we viewed online. Food was great, and the ordering off the phone made it streamlined.
Great food as always. The 3 for service and ambiance are due to SF COVID restrictions and limitations— the restaurant was doing what it could. Overall still very happy: though we miss the carts walking by!
Food is always great though very limited selection during Covid. Service was excellent, better than before Covid. We enjoyed our meal. Looking forward to the return of the traditional Dim Sum meal at Yank Sing.
I thought the food was outstanding because on how it tastes and the service was very nice. Not too loud but not too quiet.
A cafeteria vibe with still expensive prices! Didn’t love the ambience.
Unfortunately the food was terrible, the price expensive and the place lacking in atmosphere/ambience (sterile work building with no plants/flowers, etc ). I understand it's Covid but at least the food should be terrific especially with a limited menu. It was our first, and last time there.
Rather underwhelming.. very disappointing .. no chicken feet and duck. Food was not fresh.
Still in the pandemic so ... wasn’t the Yang Sing experience I was used to. Plastic tables, no tables cloths, limited menu, had to use a phone to order.
Also the owners on Rincon completely ruined the space. Gone is the famous rain tower and historical murals.
Yank sing is making the most of the Covid situation. It’s certainly not the typical dim sum experience, because there are no food carts. And it seems as if the menu is a bit more limited. Food is good. Happy new year be dining indoors again. Waiting for things to get back to much more of a normal routine
Food was greasy. This place used to be great but has gone down hill.
ambiance so much nicer inside...looking forward to when they open that part up again.
the food is still delicious...but it would be nice to drink tea out of something other than a styrofoam cup
Dim sum is not the same without the rolling carts. We do not plan to go back until full service resumes. Why? Lack of variety and ambience. Food was good as always but the menu was limited. They are fortunate to have the Rincon Center to spread the patrons out - inside and outside, so I would not hesitate to go if you are worried about covid-19.
COVID-19 has made Yank Sing a never-forgotten mythical experience. So getting to go there on Sunday and sit in the atrium was almost perfect. No carts and much chiller vibe, but the phone ordering process was super easy and they went the extra mile as we had a gift card to use to cover part of the bill.
The food was amazing, as always. The menu is still slightly curtailed, but they had a great range of vegetarian options so that the two folks in that camp felt incredibly well treated.
THANK YOU YANK SING FOR SURVIVING. Missed you SO much.
Excellent meal, well organized space, ordering process, health precautions.
Not the same experience as pre-Covid, no more food carts coming by your table. You have to order and pay online, then they deliver the food. Not as much choice on the menu during Covid. I won't be going back until they reintroduce the carts and more variety.
Mom daughters time together
Very COVID safe. Delicious!!!
Limited menu selection. Everything to be ordered by using an App. Payment via Credit or debit cards. No cash. Fast service.
Yank Sing has great food, but with COVID restrictions, all of the charm of dim sum has been removed. This isn't the restaurant's fault, but I would say customers are better off just getting takeaway than dining in until things resume to normal post-pandemic.
Food excellent as usual but did not understand why everything served in “to go” containers, not green. Is this because of Covid? Also not sure how to split an order such as potstickers
Absolutely amazing Dim Sum.
Why cant we eat inside the restaurant? What an odd experience, we left because we were a party of two eating at a giant plastic table in an empty building/void. No thanks.
A lot of the pre-Covid menu is back for indoor dining. Certainly a greater selection than the Covid menu. No carts, but quick service anyway. So nice to see some familiar faces on the waitstaff. Still quite expensive, but I love every dish Yank Sing prepares. I can’t wait for the old days to come back, seated in the real dining room with stuffed carts!
Food was good as usual, but the limited menu, paper plates and plastic forks, and higher prices were negatives. Although non-paying walk-offs are a possibility, I wasn’t crazy about paying our bill before we even started eating. Eating inside in the atrium was certainly welcome on a cooler day.
Food was cold. Not much of a variety.
Did a great job with Covid safety precautions
Our favorite dim sum restaurant in the city. Food is amazing. But eating outside in the cold shade is challenging! Can’t wait til they open up inside again. We’ll be back!
Always amazing food. A treat and a pleasure everytime!
It was fun eating in the courtyard and having dim sum brought to our table. Very casual however with paper plates and paper cups.
Me and my wife's family have dining here for years. The food is incredible!
The pandemic is so challenging for restaurants Yang Sing is doing a good job of providing pleasant outdoor seating.
Whole we missed the the full experience of the usual Yank Sing visit, they made this visit just as memorable and as always, the food was AMAZING! Thank you Yank Sing!
Had lovely time. Wish there were more items on the menu (but understand we are in Covid Times).
Hands down Yank Sing is the best place for dim sum. The green beans are one of my favorite dishes. Tables have ample distance between each other, making for a safe and comfortable environment. They've created a nice environment in the courtyard with many tables separated from public spaces with a screen. The service was excellent and staff expressed appreciation for the business. We'll be back.
We have always loved Yank Sing and our not-so-great experience was probably due to COVID-19 restrictions. There was no bar service (no bloody Mary’s), no duck, the food was not quite warm enough and we were charged for a dish that we had sent back. Because everything is done online I didn’t get my receipt until I got back home when I noticed the extra charge. This will not, however, keep us from revisiting Yank Sing once they can reopen indoors.
The food was served hot and the service was even quicker than pre-COVID. Staff was flexible in moving my party to a preferred location outside. We brought a first-time guest to Yank Sing and he became an instant fan.
I had taken a friend there for dim sum lunch to celebrate her birthday; since it was outdoor dining we ate in the courtyard. She said she really liked the food and so did I. I had been there some years ago and, of course, ate inside the restaurant. Hopefully, in the near future, I’ll be able to enjoy lunch with friends inside the restaurant again.
Best dim sum in San Francisco, but too cold to eat outdoors. Menu is limited.
Dim Sum in the age of Covid is not the same experience. That said, Yank Sing did a great job with a slightly limited menu and outdoor seating. There were still plenty of vegetarian options on the menu. The service was stellar, the food as good as usual, and the experience was acceptable. While we would prefer to be inside and have the carts buzzing around us and the low roar of the many, many guests, that's just not possible. Yank Sing is doing their absolute best to stay afloat including validating parking! We did our part this weekend to contribute. Please visit Yank Sing.
