Yank Sing - Rincon Center
Yummy and fun. Why only women pushing carts however?
Steamed pork dumplings and soup dumplings always great here
Great food as usual and service is excellent
Our go-to for large family gatherings where we want to make sure out-of-town guests enjoy very good food and a nice experience. Always great food and service. It is on the pricier side for dim sum, but to me, there is so much hand-work involved in making each delicious item, that I'm ok more for special occasions.
Excellent on all counts -- shrimp dumplings, Shanghai soup dumplings, sticky rice in banana leaf,
Peking duck and rice noodles with shrimp.
Nice, elegant restaurant with outstanding Dim Sum. Nice place to bring your friends who are visiting San Francisco.
Reliably great dim sum. Validated parking made it free. Nice side benefit. We were seated in the overflow seating in the atrium, and it seemed like we got less attention than we would have had inside.
Great! Service fantastic and food always the best!
It's the absolute best dim sum I've had, but it's pricey!
The service was horrible. Our server went on a 30 minute break and never came back. Finally after 45 minutes we started asking other servers for help. The food carts were very slow. The same cart came coming all the time. I have been coming to Yank Sing for 20+ years. I hope this day was a one off. 2 hours and 45 minutes for lunch is crazy.
Excellent dim sum. Outstanding service. Always a treat.
Really, I can only say yum. I left considerably fatter.
My husband and I heard that this was the best restaurant to experience dim sum while we are visiting from out of town. It was delicious!
The Rincon center location isn't ideal, but I'm fine with it. Being able to wait inside with the nice large atrium and waterfall is pleasant. Most of my dining experiences have been outside in the atrium, which I think I now prefer because it's noisier inside the restaurant. Service is friendly and fast. And thank you so much for the 3 hour parking validation. I never have to worry about finding parking and San Francisco's exorbitant costs for parking.
Glad there was a price list at the table. However, when we first sat down the carts of food came so quickly that we did not have time to read the prices. Ended up with a lunch bill of $94 for two people! That is the only drawback to the restaurant. Love the decor, the food and the speed of seating for our reservations.
Food as good as I remember from trips as far back as 20 years (Stevenson location). While the ambiance isn’t 5 stars it is totally what one might find in a large Dim Sum restaurant in Asia. Truly a treat with responsive staff. Don’t miss this spot if you are a dim sum fan!
This is a legendary SF institution but the food quality has slipped over the years. If you haven’t done dim sum, it can be fun. If you have had good dim sum in Hong Kong or dumplings at Din Tai Fung, you will find this disappointing. The shiu mai we’re almost impossible to peel apart and the xiao long bao were chewy. Add in the cheap decor, and you get a vibe that my bf described on this visit as a ‘Chinese Golden Corral’.
Delicious dim sum and attentive service.
Never disappoints! Always visitors' first choice for food.
It was Super warm inside the restaurant, the service and food was poor
Yank Sing is the place to go for traditional dim sum in downtown San Francisco.
The dishes are always prepared to perfection, served hot, and the service is attentive.
Even with reservations you have to wait, but it's worth it.
Dim sum was done perfectly ~ the wrapping of the dim sum was not mushy and the fillings were seasoned with perfection.
Beautiful place, great service, food was incredible! Will be back!
According to an article on the best Dim Sum places to try in San Fransisco, my party was excited to go while on vacation. Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience. We were not informed that this was only a lunch place, and the restaurant closed at 3:00. Yank Sing should never take a 2:45 reservation, because when we arrived, the fried options were not available as the kitchen was closing, we were rushed to make decisions on the steamed dumplings, the staff started clearing tables and over turning chairs to vacuum, and we were told multiple times to pick what we wanted next quickly so the kitchen could clean up. For a $300 meal this was just totally unacceptable. Old food, poor service and a rushed meal should never be this expensive. Very disappointing.
Upscale dim sum with lots of vegetarian options. Parking underneath the Spear St. location. There are lots of dim sum places in SF but this is our go-to spot because the food is always fresh, flavorful and not greasy.
Always delicious! We love everything, especially the soup dumplings!
Very efficient service most of the dishes are brought to you by cart, otherwise you can order but everything is pretty quick. I had dim sum and stir fried beans both very good. They offer 3 hours parking.
Excellent food as always! We noticed that some items have gotten smaller and prices have gone up.
Very good food. Some simpler items weren’t made in true Canto style—but the restaurant seems to mix styles. Would go again but would be interested in trying something new
please sell those black bean chilly sauce again!!!
Great food and service. Place is very clean and staff are professional and polite.
Friends visiting from New Zealand - Treat.
Dim sum is fresh, attractive, delicious, not greasy and there’s a good variety to select from. Atmosphere is nice, but hasn’t changed much for many years and could use a refresh. Budget about $50 per person if they are not heavy eaters
It could have been because we had a late reservation but this was not a great "1st Dim Sum" experience. We felt rushed, we asked for an explanation how the Dim Sum process worked and that explanation wasn't given, and the food wasn't great. It was okay but less than expected. I take ownership for having a late reservation. Lesson learned for any restaurant. However, I still think it could have been better. The whole experience including not smelling the pinesol cleaning solution while I was still eating and they were cleaning. We do know it was a clean restaurant. Grateful!
Best Dim Sum in San Francisco.
Service was great price was fair and the food was delicious.
As usual: fast service and great food. Love all the dumplings we tried. Highlight again as usual: the Pekjng duck.
The person who filled our water glasses was outstanding. We drank a lot of water. As soon as our water became low, he was there to fill it. Tea was also filled promptly.
When we asked for certain dishes, each staff member we asked radioed it in for us and we received it promptly.
The food was really good and the service was great.
