Yanagi Sushi & Grill Ratings and Reviews
One of the better Teppanyaki Grills in the East Bay. The food is very good and the service was great. It's a great place to come for a birthday celebration or just do something that is fun and different. You get your meal and entertainment all at the same time.
I was a little disappointed with the quality of the sushi, the Toro was sliced way too thick and was extremely oily and overpriced. Took my niece for her birthday and was hoping to wow her. Would be willing to come back to try the Teppanyaki where people seem to really enjoy. Ambiance was fun, food presentation was nice but expected a lot more for what we paid.
Always reliable, and this time I needed a corner with a little quiet - that is often not possible because it's ALWAYS busy. But we were on the tail end of lunch hour and they put is in a noce corner and didn't seat anyone close. Perfect.
Service is always good and the food is impeccable.
We've been here a few times, and this time seemed lackluster. The chef preparing our food at the Teppanyaki grill was very quick and it wasn't as much of a show(something we came for). It was quite a disappointment this time, my date didn't even get her steamed rice until she was done with her entree. Not very happy this time, love the restaurant just this time wasn't the best. Also, a seating mix-up meant we didn't start eating until 30 mins after the time we should've been
Booking online at opentable was quick and easy. When we arrived at the restaurant, they had us on the list and seated us right away. The staff came to the table quickly and took care of the orders right away. The staff constantly checked on us and made sure dirty plates were removed quickly and checked on our liking of the food.
This was are my third visit with my son and grandsons.
This experience was so much fun. It was Father's Day so it was busy. The restaurant did not over book and everything went smooth. We were able to make a last minute reservation. The chef was very professional and very entertaining. The food was very good this time. I think because of the chef.
Would have loved to have given them a better review but the service wasn't great and the food was ok. They have a wonderful space really. The teppanyaki tables looked so fun to do a family dinner or a group. But they just don't have the restaurant experience in serving customers - check on them if they want more water/tea, just check how things are going, listen to what your customer wants to order as they missed a sushi order or couldn't listen to what we were asking and we were there for lunch to visit - when we finished they didn't offer dessert you just felt like they wanted to have you leave. The food was ok - it was good Japanese food but I have had better: teriyaki chicken was dry, Japanese dressing wasn't like the yummy creamy one you get some place else, but the tempura was the best part. That mix is the test as you really shouldn't go wrong with that.
