Metro Red Line to Hollywood & Highland. Walk west down Hollywood Blvd turn right on Orange and cross at the light on Franklin. Once you cross at the light go left and turn right at sycamore going up the hill. It is a very steep hill so walking in dress shoes or in the dark are not recommended. The Night staff especially the manager was very rude, waiter customer service was very poor so still was planning on giving the guy a tip face to face before my party left but the manager decided to come over with the receipt asking why your party didn’t tip but you guys spent $300 on food basically trying to muscle a tip but not knowing I was actually waiting to give him $100 bucks from us personally this manager was being a asswhole the entire they held on to my bday cake till my party left the restaurant smh ask several times to bring it nobody attempted to even care... I will not be attending this rude environment again thanks Yamashiro’s for spoiling my bday with the rude service We were giving more respect from valet honestly

The view is still spectacular, but the interior is dated and definitely past its prime. Over priced for average food, and warm cocktails.

Had been wanting to go to this restaurant for many years. Finally decided for our wedding anniversary and it was the best decision we ever made.

Everything turned out perfect!

We went for the views, and we got them. The food was good. We chose to go at golden hour (just before sunset) for the best possible views, and we weren't disappointed.

My girlfriend and I came here for Valentine's Day dinner and loved it so much, we decided to come back with my folks. We didn't realize they didn't serve any of their normal menu and instead had a brunch only menu. This was quite disappointing as we came up from Newport Beach and Long Beach specifically for the regular menu. Not only that, but if it was to be brunch only, some actual Asian breakfast options would have been appreciated as most of us are part Asian (Korean and Japanese). As a brunch it was OK, but I wouldn't come back for it. The service was fantastic though, and as always the ambiance is top notch.

The experience my girlfriend and I had here was great and welcoming. I decided to bring my girlfriend to dinner here as a surprise and the service was amazing. Everyone at the restaurant, from the hostess to the waiter did a phenomenal job with their service. Nothing but 5 stars for this restaurant. And a special shoutout to Narde for the awesome customer service! Will definitely be coming back for more special occasions!!

Loved this restaurant. Server was very nice and helpful, food was some of the best Japanese/sushi that I’ve had, and the ambiance/decor was amazing. We sat in the garden and I loved how it was set up. Lighting gave it the perfect glow. Views from the mountaintop were hard to beat too.

Its sad to see this once iconic restaurant fall into the average category. The restaurant was closed for renovations but they did not improve upon any of the outdated items that were there before. Rather, they removed the carpet and replaced it with cheap fake hard wood that makes it super loud and has no personality at all. the place looks plain. The pavement is in disrepair by the stairs and the whole place just feels like it has seen better days. To bad this could be such a gem

Its a fun place, expect to throw down some serious money for dinner though. Even on Sunday they want a credit card to hold my reservation, since it is a weekend. I received a text, responded and still go numerous calls to get my credit card for a weekend reservation. Figure on spending about $100/person for dinner. Everything was fresh, view was great, funny thing that even though I spent close to $500 for dinner, tip and parking they cannot give me 100 points for openable.

One of the most amazing views of LA at night and should not be missed by visitors or anyone looking for a romantic dinner. The gardens are great for an evening stroll to enjoy the view. I would go just for the view, but I don't want to short change the food. I personally had the steak with a side of shrimp cooked on basalt (signature dish), it did not disappoint. The flavor, seasoning and tenderness of the beef was fantastic and it was a unique cooking experience. My guest had a variety of sushi rolls, and was kind enough to share the fried rice deconstructed California roll. It was a unique and very enjoyable twist on a typical roll. I would highly recommend both. The food was a unique and tasty twist on traditional Japanese cuisine and the view was spectacular.

We had five adults cramped into a table designed for four seats. My chair was between two uneven tables pushed together. I had booked the reservation five weeks in advance, but was still pushed in the back room. I asked twice for a refill on my drink before going to the bar myself for a refill. When the food came out, there was no room on the table for everything (five adults at a table fit for four). I had been here before and was really hoping to share a positive experience at this amazing place. A big disappointment.
