Susan is a delight. Always takes great care of everyone. Food was fabulous. Halibut sandwich was tender, moist and flavourful. My only critique would be to add some spinach to the house salad. We'll be back again soon! Thanks YTBP!
Great place for a casual meal!
Over a period of 10 or more years we used to go regularly to YBC but over time the food quality and ambience had deteriorated, so we quit going. However, with family in town earlier this week, we thought we would try it again. Sadly, the food quality is even worse than we remembered and the prices are considerably higher. Not one of the main courses was good, in fact, barely passable. For example a rice bowl at $22 was far inferior to one we had last night at Cactus Club for under $20. The fish in the fish and chip plate was almost all crusty batter with minimal dry fish inside (not even close to GoFish). It was the first time, we can remember one of our party, a teenage boy, leaving food on his plate- he loves burgers but thought that the backyard burger was not worth eating. Although the server was very good, the quality of the food is most important to us, so needless to say we will not return.
Nice place for a weekend hangout with friends and even family. Perfect for beer on a Sunny Summer Day.
Not likely returning very often because of changes to pizza menu. Our kids don't like current pizza options.
Great food and ambiance. Was pretty busy for a Sunday but I think it was because of the $12 pizza specials. Service was a little slow but not sure if it was an artifact of the busyness of a Sunday.
Dinner with family before the Queen concert was so much fun. And then the free shuttle to the arena was very handy
Always an easy choice at YBC before heading to a concer or a game.
Get there before 6 and take advantage of happy hour deals. Few places you can get a couple pizzas, appy and 4 glasses of wine for under $100.
The lamb sandwich was amazing as well as the halibut burger. Great service. My folks are a bit hard of hearing so we found a somewhat quiet spot. Will definitely be back!
Great venue and excellent value. Awesome to be able to book reservation online from my phone. All in all a fantastic experience.
Visiting Vancouver, great food, service and atmosphere
no healthy food choices, no flexibility, was dead and slow service, toudest speaked outside, they did not want to adjust! terrible..
We received a great service from the staff and the food was just what we needed for a relaxed Sunday evening. Will definitely be going back soon.
Went here for my birthday and had a great time. Service was only okay, waited a long time for our drinks and our drinks sat empty for a while before being asked if we'd like another. Other than that it was very good. Food was really good and the dessert was great. Their birthday celebration was great too! Very unexpected. Would definitely recommend
A welcome refuge on a rainy afternoon. Good beer, unique food offerings, sports on the television, friendly service. Table or bar seating. Will return to hopefully enjoy the patio on warmer, drier day than this one!
Slow service. Too noisy. Won’t be back!
Hubby had meatloaf and I had the short ribs. Highly recommended! Our waitress was the delightful Susan. What a sweetie! We will be back soon!
Watched the Superbowl here from one of their cosy booths, good balance of atmosphere and privacy. We even won a YBC shirt :)
As a vegan, I chose the Super Food Salad. It was tasty enough, but I’ve never been so hungry when leaving a restaurant. For an expensive salad ($19) it needs more substance including some protein (beans of some kind, like chickpeas, would be great).
My dining companions were happy with their choices, but my partner was also hungry after enjoying the very HOT Jacarta Bowl. The St. Petersburg Bowl looked plenty satisfying with its noodles.
Good. Stop asking questions
I have been to the restaurant many times over the years and have always found the food and beer good and excellent service. The server we had the other night was very good.
I haven't been to this place for several years and I have been disappointed by two things. First, the place is very noisy and busy, very hard to get a table without reservation. I used to come here with my friends without planning in advance, and, even if it has always been a casual and informal place, it was possible to chat without having to scream because of the loud music. Second, and most important, my favourite item is not on the menu any more: the slow cooked beef is gone, and nothing is there in its place.
Apart that, the place is fun, good service and exceptional choice of beers. But I'm not sure I will be back.
We went there for a Sunday Pizza but it turns out the price is now $12 and not 9, as mentioned. Apart from that it was good but we had to wait quite long to get it. Our waitress was really nice though. Music is a bit loud for a Sunday night.
Great staff! They were flexible with their new Happy Hour rules, as they had just removed it from the dining room the day before, without us knowing. Rather than having to move our large table into the bar (to get the nicely-priced deals), they made an exception for us and gave us an extended HH right where we were.
Everyone was happy with our pizzas, beer and wines.
We already have a plan to meet there again in December for our pre-holiday get-together; the location is great, just a block from Canada Line train, so no parking woes!
We enjoyed our Dinner stay before going to a downtown concert.. Our Server was excellent and helped out if we needed anything..
Good food and service and deals.
Generally good food. Fairly loud music. Service was ok.
Excellent place to meet for a meal prior to the BC Lions game. Thank you for the trolley ride to the game. The big and little kids love it!!
Sehr schönes Patio mitten in Yaletown! Jederzeit gerne wieder.
Great service and awesome patio. Food and beer are good too. Great spot to chill downtown with friends.
We’re traveling all day so we thought this would be a low key first dinner. Excellent food and beers. Would definitely eat there again.
A good place for a Sunday pizza & beer outing. As a visitor living in Yaletown for a month, I was in the habit of getting my 32oz Growlers filled at the bar with various Core/Seasonal brews for $11 in the beginning. That was UNTIL I found out that this is almost DOUBLE the price that most SMALLER, local Craft Breweries charge (avg. $6.5-7 for 32oz). Unreasonable? Yes. Even if it IS Yaletown. I MAY except it IF the beer was mind blowing. It's not. It is average. FAR better brews in Gastown or Mount Pleasant for almost half the price (and most offer pretty fierce food/pizza now too!)
Great Sunday brunch menu with lots of great patio seating.
We were visiting Vancouver from Ohio and felt very welcome. Our server was terrific. It’s a definite must visiting Vancouver !
Wanted a quick meal before going to concert. Was served very quickly and offered free trolley tickets from the restaurant to Rogers arena.
Went on a Sunday night so great $10 pizza deals. Serviced was mixed. Had to ask twice for water and when it arrived we got one glass between four of us. Overall good food, fun place but vague service
A fun brewpub atmosphere with good food, goood beer at great value.
Food was really good and we had fun.
I have been to this restaurant previously and was really impressed when they brought out the cake and fired the birthday cannon. I took my nephew for his 21st birthday and was totally disappointed.
The brought out the cake. then the plates and forks. Then they remembered the cannon and fired it from a great distance and did not even come to our table. We were not able to take a picture of it.
Can’t beat Pizza and Beer Sunday. Best Sunday deal in Yaletown with $5 pints and $10 pizzas. Definitely worth a visit.
Great service. Good food. Music was a bit loud
