some BBQ are over cooked. The waiter talks with low voice, hard to hear. Since the day is my Wife’s birthday, I keep it quite...
The food is not worthy.
After a long time, I had Omakase in door dining. Not only yakitori but also appetizers and oyakodon were very delicious. What impressed me was the thorough measures against corona in door dining. Partitions were firmly applied between the chefs and customers, windows were opened to take in clean air, and an air purifier was attached to the AC, so I was able to eat in door dining with great peace of mind. I will come again.
It was great, we would have liked there to be more flexibility on the menu though (you cant order special skewers a la carte which is weird... at Toriko they let you do that so we were surprised).
It was excellent!! A+ highly recommend!!
Food was outstanding
They also do a great job with COVID protocols
Overall experience is good. The chicken meatball and urchins is awesome. But the chicken liver is not as good as expected. And it will be great, if you can cut the burned and sharpen top of the bamboo stick before serve it. Thank you.
Yakitori Torishin is by far the best yakitori restaurant in New York. Great service and great food; can’t be beat.
Worth every penny. Service was great. Food was out of this world. Can’t wait to go back.
We ordered Omakase and appetizer.
What we felt honestly was that it was very elaborated, nice, and delicious. We paid $200 for two people and it was a great meal. Corona is an outdoor business, warm food is warm, cold food I enjoyed it while it was cold. I felt very hard. Highly recommended for those who want to enjoy a valuable meal. See you next week Thank you to all the staff of Torishin.
Was expecting a nice dinner and after all it’s good to support local business. I noticed the price for chef’s omakase increased 10dollars, which wasn’t a big deal for us. But I’m amazed to see that we paid 200 dollars in total and the food quality is poor. I asked myself why do I want to pay 200 dollars to have chicken wings and chicken breasts and tomato?? Not to mentioned that everything tastes like peanut sauce. Some skewers are also covered in very heavy sauce. Honestly I’m really disappointed. If you are looking to have a nice fancy dinner may as well to go somewhere else.
I’ve been to torishin 4 times now, and outdoor dining, while different, still made me want to go again. The seasonal dishes, along with the staples, never disappoint. By far my favorite restaurant in the city.
Amazing Omakase dinner at outdoor seating in summer!
In summer, cold Beer and hot Yakitori go well together.
Overall this is a outdoor dining so you cannot expect more. But the value of the omakase set is not quite there and the service is very slow. Yakitori is a bit cold once it arrives at your desk.
Expensive for what it is
Torishin's Yakitori is best in NYC.
Come back soon.
In my opinion,
the taste and service are not good.
For any occasion, Torishin is always a great choice.
My go to NYC spot, I have never been disappointed.
Chef Bikram is great.
A true taste of Japan in midtown. Authentic yakitori with impeccable service.
Theres a few things in the menu (the best things) that you CANT order them if you don't do a prefix package.
And the prefix package, all the table has to order it.... if not, they don't let you.
That was wired. But other that that. Everything they did let us order was amazing.
Very disappointed that meat was not available . We were limited to mostly chicken
While a little pricey, the food was impeccable and the experience was enjoyable. The menu was a little complicated (tasting menu vs. a la carte), but it honestly did make a difference which option we chose everything we tasted was fabulous.
Always a pleasure having top notch yakitori here. One of my favorite places in NYC.
Always a treat to eat at Tori Shin. The one negative was that the server forgot to pack us our rice portion. The meal was too filling to finish. But overall a pleasant dining experience.
Amazing traditional Japanese dinner with great staff
Memorable experience. I still remember first skewer I got a chicken thigh with Tate and hands up... So juicy and smoky flavor. Will definitely go back!
It was delicious to eat warm Oden in cold winter.
Truly a wonderful dining experience. The servers were incredibly helpful with suggestions, details on varying Yakitori options, etc. We will be back... THANKS
My wife and I have come to Torishin for the last 2 years for my birthday and this week we came for the 3rd year, and have to say I’m a bit disappointed. The food was excellent, but my wife had called ahead and showed up early to request a happy birthday song, and cake, but it never showed up....
Absolutely loved our experience, we had the set meal on a Thursday evening (Along with a lovely bottle of cold saki) and it was fantastic in every sense. I will book this again soon, a rare treat in Manhattan to find this authentic Japanese treasure in midtown. ⛩ I was referred by a friend who is a gourmand and will do the same to friends and family who “get it” ♥️
Too many staff that led being overly crowded and hectic. No one assigned waitstaff that you could connect with for consistent service.
Oden Omakase include yakitori is best foods at winter
Fantastic meal for people who seek out a great art-style of cooking
Charcoal flavor skewers and service and cost performance are excellent!
I ordered the omakase thought it would be good value first try at the restaurant. However, the value is not there. Appetitizers were nicely lay out but no gourmet feel. All yakitori were chef selection but limited choices. I ended up getting all different part of chicken. The food is good but absolutely low value for what you get. There are many more restaurants offer better value omakase or tasting menu. The service is very attentive and food is cooked very well. But, that it.
Wonderfully gracious and friendly service. Brought back memories of living in Japan. Fantastic food
It was a lovely experience. Really warm service. I definitely will go back to Torishin!
Food was not as good considering the price. Everything was quite salty.
