Chicken Katsu Don
Homemade Shiso Sorbet
Food is incredible. Phenomenal. The skill and artistry of the chicken masters is without equal in NYC. Very authentic Japanese experience. A little pricey for (admittedly high end) street food, especially with sochu thrown in...but pretty worth it.
Highly recommend but just don't tell them it's a birthday thing. It's embarrassing and I don't think the chef likes it. When the birthday candle came out, the chef said Seriously?
It made him and the other chefs stop working just to clap and sing. But the chicken is good and worth going back for more. The icecream was packed tight and texture was not creamy so I'll get something else next time.
The service was very good, but the food was pretty bad. For that price, you have a lots of wonderful restaurants to choose. Very disappointed for the food.
The food and service were 5/5! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a top tier Japanese restaurant in Manhattan
Love LOVED our dining experience. Good was fantastic, server was amazing, sake selection was on point, bathrooms were spotless, vibes were likely. We would absolutely visit again.
It's expensive but a very accurate experience compared to high end yakitori in Japan.
amazing quality from start to finish...I mean, how do you get every bite of meat to be so perfect?!? This place is very special.
The food was delicious. I took the course meal for $100, it is worth it. I will come back again
Awesome, delicious, genuine Yakitori, with unusual seasonal specials! Feels like being in Tokyo! Exceptional experience.
The air conditioning in their upstairs dining doesn't work.
We had great time for dinner.
The service and yakitori and appetizer were top notch.
This yakitori is authentic. Their services are quite friendly and helpful with good recommendations.
Had around 7-8 chicken skewers out of the 10 skewers served in the Chef’s choice. Wasn’t here to pay $100 for that much chicken.
Staff, food, everything was Amazing !!! Chef Tatsunori cooking our Yakitori to perfection and even suggested ways to enjoy them. The shiso sorbet was super refreshing. Would no doubt return.
Great authentic Japanese food . The service and food were exceptional. Highly recommend.
The environment and service is good. The food is very nice. The cocktails are delicious.
I've been to Tori Shin several times before. The food is outstanding, and the service impeccable. This time, I was seated on the 2nd floor for the first time, and there were 2 large groups that were energetic. It was loud, and the servers kindly offered to move us downstairs after the appetizer or 1st course when a table opened up there. Regardless, we had a wonderful experience--the food and service are divine!
Being a yakitori nerd, I was disappointed to learn when we arrived that they did not have some of my preferred cuts from the menu. The menu itself is a bit difficult to navigate and the rules on what can or cannot be combined need to be easier to understand. All of this made us a bit wary, but then the food came and it was awesome! Every skewer was perfectly executed and packed with flavor. I will shut up now.
As usual, food is great, healthy, and special. But unfortunately the restaurant did not have 1/3 of what we initially ordered and the staff serving our table appeared so new that she had to check every single order and every single question from us (and made mistakes). Nonetheless we all had a great time. Really value for money.
One of the best yakitori I've ever had. All the skewers were grilled perfectly, and the dessert was also very good.
Great experience for a first timer!
Great food and hospitality!!
Overall is good. the waiter was very charming and helpful.
We order Omakase, but they changed the rice dish which I was looking forward to. Oh, I wish I could have mini Oyako-don. instead of Soboro-don and Ochazuke.
Plus a new group of people was very loud and not present.
Really loved the food here. Excellent location, top quality staff, mouth-watering food. I will say the location is much smaller than its photos make it feel online, so the ambience was a bit less "cozy" than I was hoping for.. but that's also not uncommon with solid spots in Manhattan. Interestingly, we ended up paying less than expected by going A La Carte, so for those looking for a nice outing without breaking their bank, I think this is a solid spot!
Delightfully tasty. Outstanding selection of skewers.
This is our second time, and while first time was outstanding second time was not that great.
I tried broiled sea urchin, and it was underwhelming. Pork belly was springy. Stick with the chicken.
We were sitting on the second floor, and the food was getting to us already just warm, not hot.
Always a pleasure to dine here
We enjoyed the dinner in a very calm space even though it was outdoors. Torishin's yakitori was as popular as it was, and I was impressed by the juicy roasting of very fresh chicken and the aroma of charcoal. This is the only place where you can eat authentic Japanese yakitori in NY. Also, I will definitely come back soon.
Great food and awesome service, the staff was very respectful and kind.
I've heard a lot of hype about this restaurant and had my doubts. After all, how good can yakitori really be? Apparently, it can be amazing! From chicken knee cartilage to the liver -- all of the greatest hits we sampled were delicious and sophisticated. Subtle notes of smoke, interesting marinades, and novel textures combine to create a special dining experience from the seemingly ordinary. We sat outside but this restaurant is best experienced indoors and we will certainly be back.
Had a fantastic experience. Food was amazing, host was helpful, and the environment was great.
Keiko and team were great!
The counter was full today, so I ate an Omakase course at the main dining table.
The appetizer confit was juicy, and the steamed oyster cherry leaves were smoked, so I enjoyed the scent. The yakitori was also delicious. I will visit you again.

One of the most special eating experiences- ever !
Indoor dining is BACK!!!
Yakitori Tori Shin is fantastic; attentive service, great sake selection and helpful wait staff. Omekase was terrific all around. Highly recommend.
Everything is on point, food, service, atmosphere… What a gem and surprise.
Excellent food and service, would go again.
