Excellent food and incredible service. Staff was very knowledgeable especially when asking about sake. Would def recommend if you are looking for a night out to treat yourself.
It was a novelty for me and some of the adults the 9 yr old loved it again for his 3 rd time
We felt we were rushed to eat and leave.
Food was a bit pricey but very good quality so worth it. Overall a very nice experience and we will be back.
First experience in July was great but yesterday’s service (or lack of) was really horrible
Great food, fun atmosphere.
It was over priced.
Meat quality was high but a little expensive. Service was excellent. Usually vary busy and need reservation ahead.
service was really slow and the food was extremely overpriced. $48 for 3 pieces of sushi and $78 for a bowl of rice with two slices of wagyu + a scoop of uni. The place seemed short staffed and the wait took forever even though there’s not much preparation for raw meat on a plate. Spent over $500 and they didn’t even put the dry ice in the treasure box. The dragon kalbi was so fatty we had to spit out half of it. The garlic rice was drowning in a puddle of oil. So disappointed :(
Some of the Best Japanese / Korean BBQ I have ever eaten. I have traveled the world and I will keep coming back
Egg soup sucks, has a thick layer of oil on top. Portion of meat is small and taste okay
Great food and service!
The one hostess did nothing greet me, and greeted 3 other parties who had come after me; it did not feel good to be ignored, but maybe she was having a bad day. Thankfully a second hostess was very helpful and seated me after.
Servers did not allow us to order more food of a party of 5 people - we ate under 2 hours and was rushed out with Bill on table not asked for and told we had to vacate the table. disappointing as this was not said at beginning of our meal there was a time allotted to each table. Would not recommend for a good dining experience
It was another amazing dinner. We enjoyed their Wagyu and other summer specials. My Japanese friend who dine with me thought their wagyu is as good or even better as in Japan.
All staff were very attentive. We will go back definitely.
Meat is expensive but quality. Restroom top tier. Indoor feels better.
Wanted to try something new !!!
The restaurant week food amount is way too small. Even My sister and mom who usually don’t eat much feel only 50% full after the meal.
Great food but portion is too little for the price
Not worth the price, even under the restaurant week price.
Service is impeccable. The Wagyu meat does not have the same quality I experienced in Japan. It was not blowing-mind kind of delicious. I went to this restaurant specifically for Wagyu, therefore I was a bit disappointed. It serves kimchi, stone rice etc in its set menu. For me those things are not interesting for a good quality Japanese restaurant. It can offer some more traditional Japanese fare.
(i’m a Japanese customer who have visited this restaurant for many times within the past 4-5 years) This Futago used to be a good Japanese BBQ restaurant until they drastically increased pricing and decreased food quality over the past year - after covid. Understand the dificulties they are facing but this drastic change on pricing as well as food quality is not totally acceptable, which apparently is the reason why they have much less customers these days. Very disappointed how they've changed recently.
Overpriced for the small portion and the waiters weren’t very welcoming when we ordered the restaurant week menu
Good food, there was an hour time limit which is apparently common in NYC. Was just a little price, but the quality was great.
Used to be one of my favorite J-bbq spot. However their service has deteriorated so much:( Also their wagyu restaurant week menu is not reasonable, order all the items through regular order will be even less expensive than the restaurant week menu:(
I think it’s overly priced, for the restaurant week. The waiter’s attitude was not as good as previous. Won’t recommend the $125 menu unless you want to waste money.
They only gave us 60 mins for the table we reserved and rushed us thru every single course and kept saying the next party is coming LOLOLOL WTF
very little meat in high price. the service is extreamely slow
The minute we came in, we were greeted with a warm welcome. The service staff was attentive and food was delicious and rhe quality was amazing. The wagyu beef does melt in your mouth...
Too much wait to get the meals. Small portions. Lack of explanation about the menu.
Everything was amazing. I loved it and i’m definitely coming back.
Food and service were fantastic! The 1 1/2 hour time limit was stressful and didn't allow us to properly enjoy the meal or the A5 wagu beef. Think that when you spend over $500 on a meal this deadline is arbitrary and unfair.
The staff are extremely professional and the food is incredible!
We were seated 30m late without apology. There was a customer vaping in the bathroom, which was relatively dirty. The food itself was good, but not enough to compensate for the rest of the experience.
Very good meat! Great service. Love Hormon.
We had very nice dishes, but the service was chaotic. The table next to us was highly attended and their dishes were cooked the moment they arrived. Our wagyu sat on the table for 20 minutes before it was cooked. It was very irritating to see the table next to us be attended instantly with all dishes while we waited. The mushrooms we had were burnt as they were left so long. The waiter didn't think to check and we had to call him over to point it out. "I'll be back to flip the zucchini in 2 minutes" turned into two pieces of burnt zucchini. We ended up cooking the rest ourselves. Similarly, there were two dishes of meat we cooked ourselves. At one point, we pointed out that the waiter was ignoring us and someone else subbed in. This was great. Until it wasn't. Even this attention didn't last.
So, overall great flavors, but not great service.
Best real Wagyu A5 in the NY area. I’ve been here 5x now and they never disappoint.
Service and food was great. Very spacious and nice ambiance
Everything about this restaurant was excellent. Not only was the food outstanding but the service was great as well as the atmosphere.
This place used to be my favorite bbq in the city but the price went to high during covid
very good environment, excellent waygu beef
