Yabba Island Grill Ratings and Reviews
I was terribly disappointed after hearing good things about this restaurant. We waited more than one hour for our dinner and the waitress was very nice and told us there were problems in he kitchen. Our mussel appetizer was salty and extremely creamy that you couldn’t taste the fish and we got the vegetable lasagna which came out as a soup bowl of raw vegetables in a cream sauce and no ricotta. We sent back and again the waitress apologize and told us they were having problems in kitchen. The waitress was very nice but never offered us another meal she just gave us the check less the dinners but we left disappointed and hungry , so we went to another restaurant for dinner. Very disappointed and someone should teach the chef on how to make lasagna or simply change the name to vegetable soup in a cream sauce.
Tonight’s dinner was easily the worst dining experience we’ve ever had in Naples.
Atmosphere similar to a Disney-property dining room.
Cilantro allergy made clear and first dish comes piled high with — guess what — cilantro. Waiter removed cilantro right there in front of us — with his hands. Revolting.
Water glass chipped and with long crack.
“6.5 oz.” file fish was actually minute. The accompanying “mixed vegetables” was actually all squash.
Salt and pepper shakers appear to never have been wiped, with greasy handprints all over them.
Food arrived over-cooked, cold, and late. Dishes inaccurately described.
Clean utensils requested never arrived.
AC blowing so hard we were chilled for 20 minutes after we left.
Loud rock music and abundance of loud children made this the perfect storm of horrible-ness.
Kitchen was likely overwhelmed, but there’s no excuse for having such a poorly trained staff in Naples at high Season.
This is a great restaurant if you don’t mind the organized chaos. Our reservation was for 7:30 but didn’t get seated until 8:15. Once we sat down the service was great. Food and drinks where delivered on a timely basis. Our waitress was great, very nice, friendly and very profesional. Desserts where awesome. I would highly recommend to friends and family.
We have been occasional diners at your restaurant for many years. We found the overall experience disappointing compared to the past. The Grouper Scampi lacked taste . The mixed green salad was good and the wine and drinks were good. Our friends felt that their meals lacked taste also. We did not have any beef so we can not comment on that.
It was Valentines Day and while we were rushed to order, we learned that our server was helping us to take advantage of the early dining prices until 5:30 so it was fine. My only disappointment was that I chose from the full price menu & ordered 1 stone crab claw of the largest size. It was $16 a piece and I got maybe 2 bites from it. Not reasonable at all. Otherwise the food was good.
I requested a window seat inside and was told there were not any available but, I could "wait " for someone in a window seat to finish. If I wanted to wait I wouldn't have made a reservation with "detailed request" We were seated outside near the bar where loud music (not even good music) was playing. The music was loud inside as well, which is why I requested a front window where it doesn't seem to be as loud in that area. The food was just ok. The waitress was nice and tried her best to accommodate us.
We arrived a little early, but were greeted by a very nice hostess and told it would only be a few min tired before
They opened. As soon as we were able to enter we were quickly taken to a large table (since we had s party of 8)
Service was quick, the waitress answered our questions and was very precessional and polite..
Food was very good. They have a good selection of Gluten Free options and they are currently offering bottles of wine at retail +$1 which is a nice option at a great price. Catherine our server was attentive and knowledgeable and the food arrived quickly once we ordered.
We live in town and have dined here many times. We were taking our friend for her birthday. I wrote it as a note when I made the reservation on line. I mentioned it to the person who seated us as well as our waiter. There was a birthday at the next table and that person was served a small desert with a candle. Nothing was offered to our friend. Cheap....
Also, the coke was served flat. When the waiter brought the replacement, that was flat also.
He then stated that they ran out of C02 cartridges but he thought it would be fixed in several minutes. All in all, somewhat disappointing.
