Yabba Island Grill Ratings and Reviews
This was our first visit in 10 years. The menu was creative. The scrimp plate was very good. The salad was very good and tasty. My wife had the pork chop which was delicious, tender and cooked perfectly. My snapper was dry and tasteless. We would return and pick our choices.
We have always had a good meal but not this time. All four meals were not very good and it was freezing to the point of being really uncomfortable. We were there for a birthday dinner and we were very disappointed. It will be awhile before we will try it again.
We had a great meal with family and friends. Two of us are vegan and our server, Julie, was great in making recommendations on their vegan options and offered to speak with the chef to make other options available. She is certainly a fine representative of spectacular customer service.
Service and Food was great. Stephanie, our server, was a "rockstar". Wife LOVED the Vegetable Lasagna...prepared and served very uniquely. Chopped wedge salad was OK...not epic. Cedar Plank Salmon was very tasty and had a bit of different citrus based glaze. Excellent. Management on-site making certain that all goes well.
There were 7 of us in our party, 4 adults and 3 children. Everyone had a different dish and all enjoyed their dinner. However, the place is extremely noisy and could barely hear what each other was saying, and we were in the front room area. One waitress had 5 or 6 big tables, so service was quite slow.
It started out rocky but ended very well thanks to the amazing manager & great staff. We arrived just before 8pm for our reservation. Our table wasn’t ready & we were told we’d receive a text in 10 minutes. After a 30 minute wait, I asked the hostess about our table. Unfortunately our reservation was deleted & our table was given to someone else. They quickly found a table for us, and later on the manager delivered two signature appetizers. The staff worked hard to make our experience better too. Thank you Yabba! You really know how to turn on the charm. We will return!
Awful, the only positive I can give is the young waitress who served us was very polite. But this has to be the worst dining experience ever. It started with cramming our party of 8 at a table way to small. Other parties in the room at the same size table were parties of 4. When we raised it with the manager, his very arrogant response was “this is acceptable to the owner.” We got passed that and looked forward to the meal which we have enjoyed here before.... but no, steaks burned to a black char and tough, fish over cooked and dry, steamed veggies still raw... Not the dining experience one looks for when dining on 5th avenue in Naples.
The hostesses barely made eye contact with us, we were shown to our table where we waited 10 minutes before we were greeted by our server.
Finally got some water and menus, ordered drinks and our dinner and waited another 15 minutes before getting the first course/apps and had to ask for our drinks!
We waited again for our main course, the burger was awful, the potato not loaded and the gf salad had croutons!
Needless to say we will not recommend this restaurant nor will we be back!
Very disappointed. Started our experience with our reservation requiring another 20 minute wait. That would have been ok considering how busy Naples was that night. But once seated we were surrounded by people standing at the outside bar waiting for tables and talking loudly, standing right over our table. Ok, that's acceptable when it is busy. But the food was terrible. Vegetarian lasagna was average and my salmon was literally the tail piece that you always pass over at the grocery. Salmon only 1/2 inch thick and burned so badly that it could not be eaten. The cost was deducted from our bill but I never had a meal - only a small baked potato and some side veggies. In the middle of Naples with all the great restaurants this is definitely not one I would recommend.
We sat just outside the bar. Great location on a beautiful evening. Pork Chop was superb as was all the food. However the music was very loud....and it was oldies from the 60s which we love, but not at a place like this! Also, the drink blender at the bar was loud every time a drink got blended....which was often. Hard to have a conversation.
This was my first time visiting Yabba Island Grille. I won't be going back. Nice ambiance and great location in the center of it all on 5th Ave, but slow service and disinterested wait staff were disappointing. The food was okay but not great - my salmon was undercooked. There are so many good choices in Naples, I was disappointed Yabba didn't do better.
We went here for a casual, affordable dinner during our Honeymoon stay. After visiting many of the more expensive "fancy" places on 5th, this surpassed the others. The food was great, starting with the jalapeno corn bread and finishing with the sweet and spicy steak. It was awesome there. I will be coming back in April and this will be a "must visit" for us. Take advantage of the Happy Hour specials. This place will not disappoint.
Live in town and have enjoyed Yabba’s before and really liked it. We decided to try for Xmas eve. Yabba’s did an excellent job on a very busy evening. Food very good, service was good, great environment and fun part of town. Worth a visit.
