We went on a Sunday evening for a GNO birthday dinner, so not much going on. A few of the dishes were not served as ordered and the salads did not have all the ingredients listed on the menu. In fact, the Steak salad came without items on it and had raisans added, which was not listed on the menu and not good.
However, the experience there is usually much better so will give it another try.
Group dinner for seven people Saturday night. Great starters: Charcuterie plate (cheese cold cuts), original bruschetta formulation. Great trout with couscous. Nicely done steak, salads.
Wine list is extensive and well-chosen.
Well-prepared inexpensive (well, relatively inexpensive) cocktails.
We'll be back.
The food was good with a variety of options for everyone. Service was very attentive and the wine suggestions were accurate and delicious. It is a very busy restaurant so there is noise but not over the top so conversation is possible without hollering. Desert choices were adequate and varied.
We've been going to this place for years, as the food historically has been very good with a nice selections of wines and seasonal specials. The food on our recent visit (a casual Friday night out) was quite good, as were the menu selections and wine list. The wait staff and manager were very attentive and the timing of the courses was spot on.
However, on the last two visits I have noticed a significant and unpleasant increase in their intrusiveness. This visit was the same as the last one, with the waiter constantly interrupting our conversation and foisting his commentary upon us, and it completely ruined the experience. It's as if every member of the wait staff is a newly minted sommelier who just can't wait to spout off their command of the subject. The trouble is they are really not that knowledgeable. It is so amped-up that the process is more like buying a new vehicle than having a quiet dinner. Since it has happened on two consecutive visits, I must assume that this is trained behavior. Probably won't be back.
I just found this place and loved it. We drove 32 miles to get here and we were not disappointed. The person who greeted us was awesome, Max the server made great recommendations, and the food was fabulous. I don't often overeat at Sunday brunches but I did this past Sunday.
Must eat include the bacon, the traditional eggs Benedict, and the individual vanilla creme brûlées. There was also snow crab and shrimp that was amazing. I cannot wait to go back.
Overall it was a great meal, everyone seemed very pleased with their entree's and choices. Cocktails were fun too and had several specialty ones. A bit loud for a business dinner so don't think I'll do that again and we were even at a round table. Desserts were wonderful and only let down was probably the crab cakes.
The power went out earlier in the day and they closed the restaurant. We didn’t find out until we got there due to a sign taped to the door and it was too late to make reservations anywhere else. I wish they had called us because we were going out for my boyfriend’s birthday and we had to scramble last minute to find a restaurant open at 8pm+the time to get there. We ended up going somewhere not nearly as nice because it was our only option.
Two nights in a row I had dinner at this place, one, because food was very good, two, the server, both nights, one Sam, and the next night , several severs took very good care of me, BUT, yes there was a ‘But’, one of the managers approached me and asked me if I was still going to wait for my guest, when I was at that time waiting for my dessert, And I had no guess coming with me ... He came a couple of times ... and asked the server to give me my check when I didn’t ask for it ... next time Mr Manager , do your homework before trying to kick people out , I was there two nights in a row ... and check my bills, I consumed more then the two gentlemen that were next to me and only had a beer each of them, and within 45 minutes ....
