Ya Ya's Euro Bistro - Denver Ratings and Reviews
Despite a reservation, we were seated 15 minutes late. In the interim we were offered a mimosa, but never got it. At the buffet, we had to wait for plates. The table we were given was wobbly. We were passed up by our waitress and others were served before us. When I stood up to complain , the waitress did make it her business to try and give us good service after that. But, Overall not a very nice experience.
Met up here with friends for my fiancé’s birthday. We did brunch with endless mimosas. Rebecca was our server and she was fantastic! Very attentive and fun to talk to. She even brought a plate of desserts with “happy birthday” on it and a candle. Can’t wait to go back!
The setting is very modern, attractive and comfortable. The extensive use of sound-deadening fabric on the walls and booths made the large, and fairly well populated, room nice and quiet...easy for conversation. Our request for a quiet corner was accommodated very nicely. Our server, Austin, was very courteous and attentive to our needs. However, the restaurant's system of tag-teaming the delivery of food is a bust!! Our main courses arrived when we were only 3/4 of the way through our appetizers; and we felt rushed. Apologies were offered, but this is a management failure.
Nice wine list; and several of the appetizers sounded great. We settled on the beef carpaccio (perfectly paper-thin slices of raw beef with a great aioli and capers!!) and the chicken piadini (very tasty Italian quesadilla with a little bowl of equally tasty hummus). Both were successes from our point of view. And the main courses were also very good. The Trout Amandine was butterflied and deboned, and had very delicate flavor and texture...well prepared. The Lamb Shank was a generous portion of fall-off-the-bone meat, tender and moist. The accompanying sauce was a touch too sweet for my taste, but the meat's flavor was great. The sides appeared to be a tablespoon of mashed potatoes and a few leaves of sauteed spinach, hidden under the meat!?!?! The plating could use a little more effort and imagination. Tasty, but sparse.
The Belgian Chocolate Soufflé was beautiful to look at and had a nice crust on top and along the sides of the ramekin. However, the interior was just soupy. Intense chocolate flavor, but no texture. Soufflés are very difficult to make correctly, and this one needs tweaking.
Bottom line: We know of other places that get a $200 meal done better.
Another fabulous dinner while visiting our son in Denver! Pork tenderloin w/smoked Gouda grits, trout and filet as usual terrific! Can’t say enough about how wonderful our server, Claire, was! Attentive, conversational and great recommendations! We’ll be back for the fabulous food but we’ll also ask for Claire to round out another great meal!
Food was great. Not a bad dish was ordered and we tried a lot of items. The soup of the day (potato parsnip), the bruschetta, hummus, salmon salad, lasagna, lamb shank and angel hair pasta were all fantastic. Service was excellent at first, until our waiter ended up with a giant private party and left us for a while. It was handled well and he was very apologetic. We were over charged for the $45 duo, but they had taken off some apps for on the bill for the service blip, so we didn’t mention it. Overall great experience, and we will come back again and again.
Food, as always was good. Our waiter was a bit off on his timing. Pre-dinner cocktails did not arrive until after the appetizer/salad, and then our hot meals came out too quickly. Other than that, no issues and we will definitely go back to Ya Ya's as it is one of our favorite places.
Bobby is the best. He is very warm, super attentive, remembers our unique orders when it comes to beverages and, entertains us with his bubbly personality. Most of all he knows how to read his guest. I have dined in his section over 10 times in the last year each time with different guest for an assortment of reasons. Every experience was crafted to fit my needs based on the guest i was entertaining. Truly a master of his craft! Oh and don't let me forget the cream brulee just as sweet as the entire visit.
