We made reservations last minute and were very nicely accommodated.
Birthday. I had submitted through this app that we were coming for my mother-in-law’s birthday. The servers did not do anything for the occasion. The server was also not very attentive. We didn’t have water at he table for the first 15 minutes and we were very thirsty. I had a flag him down to ask.
To start with, the Tortilla soup presentation was unusually different - won't spoil it, but they don't just place a bowl of soup in front of you. Very generous portions. Outdoor seating as weather permits. A different Mexican eatery.
Comida auténtica mexicana. Buena área para representar la comida mexicana.
Great service and excellent food. Fun for all times.
We come to XOC many times. Normally, we enjoy the restaurant, the food, drinks and service. On this particular occasion, it was disappointing. It was very busy. As a result, the delivery of food and drinks to the table was very slow. Our waiter was very good but apparently was battling with the bar and kitchen to get our food and drinks on a timely basis. Despite this occasion, we will return.
Family moving from Texas to California.
Great experience! The setting is beautiful and customer service was satisfying. Must try the shrimp tacos
I am glad I was able to go but unfortunately my reservations were not found? I even called back the Restuarant to confirm via phone. When I got to the restaurant they said they couldn’t find my reservation and I felt very embarrassed in front of my friend even thought I booked a reservation through open table and called back the restaurant to confirm my reservations. They were accommodating bc they were not busy by how about if they were?!
Everything was great ! Food was sooooo good and great service
The service was great!
Love the music and atmosphere. But the chairs outdoors were very uncomfortable.
Food was delicious, service was a bit slow but he was very attentive
Great location with excellent food and fun ambiance. Good for gatherings and celebrations. Must try the tacos and flautas as they are well done.
Great Margs! Love their tamarindo marg. Also excellent table side guac
The food was good just need to add more on their fresh fruit and include mimosas in their buffet price.
Awesome service and great food!!!
It's a pity, such a good restaurant with great potential in a fantastic location has this aweful service.
Had a Blast! Strong drinks, great food..first class service!
Dined here for the first time. The patio is great and food good, but my food did not come as ordered. Things happen, I get it, but it's the recovery that counts. My plate was removed, my husband was almost on his last bite when the manager came and apologized and advised they were working on my plate and removed the cost from our bill. Ok, great, but it was probably another 20 min before I got my food. Again, food was good, but we might as well eaten at different tables because we sure didn't eat together.
Excellent tequila so that's always nice. Had table side guacamole which was good, ceviche was fair, tacos were good. Overall, good for a casual date...sit outside by one of the fire pits.
Brunch was good but used to have lox, which was nice.
Bundle up if you go on a cold night. The inside was cold and every time the door opened a cold breeze came i .
Our overall experience was good. Our waiter Antonio was at first rude and somewhat unprofessional the chief was exceptional and very insightful would differently return. Next time we will request a table were Antonio is not serving.
Good food and good servers. But as other reviewers have stated, the hostesses are completely useless.
There's no point to getting a reservation, because they'll lose it or ask you to wait while they seat people with no reservation before you.
The food was a 5 out of 10 based on the two dishes and the appetizer that we got. The fajitas were spiced great, but there were too few beans for the amount of rice given. The tortillas were clearly store bought, and chemical lased. They were getting hard by the end of the meal.
Chili rellenos are always a tough thing to cook, and unfortunately they failed miserably at making them. The outer egg fluff was way too thin and chewy. They sauce was unremarkable, and my date asked for them to be mild, but they left in all the seeds and it was burning hot with spice.
The service was poor, but was probably due to a new waiter with little experience. We ordered a starter of guacamole, and they did not bring out any chips. Our food came to the table before the chips did, and whats worse, the chips were asked for about 5 times from three different waiters, with no explanation.
I had been here before, and the bartenders really know how to make their drinks. Plus the atmosphere is very nice, but a bit loud if you are trying to hear your date speak over the music.
The food was good. Our server was fantastic, very attentive and right on the ball. The hostess however was not the brightest shining star. It’s good for large groups but keep in mind that if you want a place to talk it is very loud inside the restaurant. My husband and I were very surprised about the food. It was very tasty, which to be honest, we were kind of expecting it to be just so-so. Since we were a large party (6.5 total) I wanted something that would accommodate everyone’s dietary needs and also something new (for us). One HUGE PLUS for me, as my husband was a restaurant manager, is that they brought the kids food super fast. Again, our server was right on the ball which I really appreciated as I had a hangry 1.5 year old. As my husband says, it shows that the manager trained his/her staff well. The only downer was the hostess. I don’t want to go into too much detail, but the kicker was when she walked up to our party and said two adults and 4 kids right? (with 4 kids menus in her hand) and there were clearly 4 adults in our party of 6. She also did not check us in with Open Table, because at 8:30 pm I received and email saying we missed our reservation. I don’t want to be rude or also belittle my sex, but if you are going to hire someone pretty to be the face of your establishment - I would also make sure they have some intelligence. Other than that, I would go back but have a reservation if you are going to be group larger than 4 people as this is a family friendly establishment and it gets pretty busy.
Had chicken enchiladas. They were very dry. The strawberry margarita had no taste.
My first time to XOC. We really enjoyed it. Service was great. Food was great. Sat on the patio and enjoyed the people watching. We enjoyed everything about it. If you like mexican food with a healthier twist, XOC is an excellent choice. Will definitely be back.
The service was lousy at best. The cocktails were not dry good . The soup ordered was delivered after the entree, the jalapeño ordered never arrived.
Great place, variety of dishes and very tasty food. Excellent service and fun location.
This place never fails to deliver when he comes to service! The servers are Pleasant, well-informed, and always willing to go the extra step to make you happy. Pablo, a tenured service at XOC, and Daniel, a great new addition to the staff, made my last visit memorable. Michael, one of the owners, is engaged and has a very pleasant disposition. I highly recommend this local gem!
Our service was not that great. We waited what seemed like forever for our waitress to come and greet us even though she was in the area for quite sometime. I was surprised to find out that she was actually our waitress because she had ignored us for so long. Our strawberry margaritas were lacking flavor however the steak and chicken taco dishes we ordered were good and flavorful. The outdoor seating area was really nice. I liked the food, however it would take a lot to get me back there because it was quite expensive with small portions.
Not impressed in general. Food was mediocre and while our server was nice, he seemed distracted. I did love my cheese crisp. That’s all.
We were really disappointed dining here. The food was very bland with a TON of salt and there was really nothing special to it that separated it from the local
Chili's. My sangria was undrinkable - it was very heavy on the Malibu to the point that I felt I was swallowing a fragrance.
Our waiter seemed rushed and crazed. He tried to take our card without bringing us the bill and then told
Us to have a good night without taking our form of payment once he did bring it.
The biggest problem was the temperature. In the middle
Of this heat wave it was the same temperature inside as it was outside. I was drenched in sweat by the end of my meal and feeling sick.
Overall we won't be coming back.
Glassware dirty, guacamole bland, messed up salad and included item I said I did not want, longer wait for food. Had to complain and they ended up comping food but generally was an ehhhh experience.
Love this place always happy
There is a good variety of food options here and also a great happy hour menu. They don't really do spicy food so that was a disappointment, but I enjoyed the enchiladas and queso. The drinks were good.
