XO Prime Steaks Downtown Cleveland Ratings and Reviews
I was in Cleveland for a long weekend and someone recommended XO. It was ok, both steaks had to be returned because they were under cooked. Grautin potatoes had a thick layer of cheese that over powered the potatoes. Truffle mac & cheese was flavorless and swimming in cheese sauce. Overall, not impressed. I’d try elsewhere since you have options.
The restaurant has valet, but they are not affiliated with the restaurant. We had trouble getting our car back from valet. They lost our keys and car and shut down before we were done with our meal and did not notify us about our car until we went to retrieve it. It took over an hour to get ahold of the valet company and get this mess all straightened up. This was an extreme hassle. The manager was somewhat helpful, but continued to say that they were not affiliated with valet and not responsible.
5 of us went out for an out of town get together/birthday celebration. Wife`s chicken was dry and my bone in filet was only about 1" thick, which I found very odd, and not cooked per order as I asked for a slightly pink center but, it was cooked all the way through. One of our friends got the scallops and risotto, which he liked and I thought the risotto was good. lobster mac and cheese was barely enough for one person let alone for sharing as a side. Since everything's ala carte, you typically order for the table but, portions were the smallest for a steak house I`ve ever seen. Overall value for price was lacking, in my opinion. Will not be going back as I believe many more, better options, downtown.
My wife and I went for our wedding anniversary and the atmosphere was good. I had the wagyu strip which was a 10oz for $120 and my wife has the bell and Evans chicken. The steak was just okay, and my wife did not actually eat her meal because the chicken was tough and chewy. The crab cake appetizer had good flavor the downside was it was just one small piece.
Without a doubt one of the best meals I can remember eating in a Long time. The bill with tip was $140 for my girlfriend and I , and was worth every penny! She had a 7 oz. filet that she said was cooked to perfection. I chose the surf and turf with 4 oz filet and Prawn. I was a little sceptical ordering a small portion of meat but was pleasantly surprised by how it filled me. We also got a side of garlic mashed, and THE BIGGEST , FRESHEST Asparagus I'VE EVER SEEN !! I must mention the salad as well... I'm not particularly fond of iceberg lettuce but this Wedge Salad was one of thw best salads I've had, it was COVERED in dressing and very different presentation then ibwas familiar with. The server asked what brought us in and I informed him it was my gf birthday and he brought out a beautiful Lava Cake for her.
Well done XO... cya again soon
I've been to Mortons, Reds and now XO. I note this because it gives me the ability to compare quality of the steaks as served. Two points that I would like to bring to your attention.
1) I ordered the 10 ounce filet and my fiance ordered the 7 ounce filet. THEY WERE THE SAME SIZE!
2) Both steaks were ordered medium rare and they were both cooked correctly. BUT, they both somehow were dry, dry dry! Reds and Mortons both served juicy medium rare filets!
Very good ambance. Reservation was as scheduled and I was greeted nicely at the host stand. Service was good but we felt a bit rushed. (My entree was literally taken from under my nose before I had finished. ) The au gratin potatoes were very bland with an almost cardboard taste; however, all of our entrees were well prepared. Overall good dining experience with just a few glitches.
Made a special reservation specifically to celebrate my husband's birthday at his favorite restaurant. Was disappointed from the NOT FREE valet parking option at the start! But we plowed through with anticipation of the great night that lay agead! I was pleased that the reservation was acknowledged as a special "birthday celebration", and we were led to our corner table, where our server Richie soon appeared. He asked for our drink orders and gave specias when they were presented and promptly took the entree orders. It was when we were served, tht we realized we had not ordered or been asked about the french onion or lobster bisque soup for appetizers (missed that course enturely) . The entrees were wonderful, neither of us were disappointed by the scallops and risotto or the surf and turf. Even the drinks were dood. Byt Ricjie was too preoccupied by the tavke of ten seated adjacent to us . . . Couldn't do enough for THEM, so OUR service suffered thrughout the evening. And Richie never mentioned or acknowledged our celebratory dinner. Usually, something cute is written on the dessert plate - - - NOTHING! We enjoyed the chef's meal, but Richie's mediocre service really put a damper on the evening. Our disappointing experience was reflected in the tip, Richie; now you know how we felt.
I went here with my father the night before a Brown's game. Service and food started off excellent. My dad said his was the best steak he's ever had. My steak was over cooked (asked for Medium, it was cooked Medium-Well to Well Done). Once I sent my steak back, the service really went downhill. Our server disappeared for long periods of time, even though we needed drink refills and other things. When the manager came by, he apologized for my steak being "a little over Medium." It was way beyond Medium, my friend. Not a bad meal but the experience left something to be desired for this type of establishment.
I had a great experience....melody who stepped me through the process was so nice and sweet everytime I had spoken with her....my guest was pleased with the food......my mom felt rich:)... the table cloths were perfectly white...yes would I return yes....the manager was awesome very soft spoken wen, he and I spoke about menu and how things was going to be prepared.... thanks for the sevice..... but I forgot to get my cheesecake for having the party there:) thanks xo prime steak...
Went here for my daughter 21st and Husband Birthday to celebrate. First time visit food was good not outstanding, Ribeye steak was not the the best we ever had for the price we paid 48.00 for a 18oz. Not thick at all or seasoned! Scallops where just okay I have had better tasting on the scallops also for the same price. I would mark this as a okay place to visit. The waiter was OUTSTANDING and very attentive!!, Atmosphere was nice and cozy but a little to chilly with the air conditioning set to low for comfort.
My fiancé and I went to XO for the very first time for our anniversary. It needs some updating, but I did like that the darkness, makes it feel intimate. Two people recommended this restaurant based on food; they did include that it was pricey. But for our anniversary, we decided to go all out and spend a bit more than usual. The steak was not cooked to our preferences, not much flavoring even though they gave us a couple other sauces to try. The lobster tail was decent. The mashed potatoes, asparagus and complimentary cheesecake we received due to our disappointment in the food was excellent. I would've rathered they had taken some money off our bill versus a couple desserts. For what we paid, I would've honestly went to Outback for a third of the price and for a great meal! Maybe it was just an off day but for the $165 we spent, it was no where near worth it.
