Xiandu Thai Fusion Cuisine
The food was really good! My boyfriend and I shared one soup, a salad, and appetizer, and an entree. The Tom Khaa soup was out of this world. Everything was crisp and fresh.
We selected this restaurant because it is vegan-friendly. I was very pleased that our waiter was knowledgeable about vegan eating and what the menu offers for vegans. He pointed out not just one dish but several that I could eat as a vegan. In addition, the food was very good, the service was excellent and the overall restaurant experience was really very pleasant.
My family, including two kids, had a great experience on a Saturday evening at this restaurant. The food was great and the server was really helpful. I highly recommend Xiandu.
Such good food. Great service. The lemongrass sauteed and lettuce wraps were both healthy and delicious. Would definitely go back.
Tasty food. Calamari had tentacles (which I love). Service was prompt and responsive.
We really enjoyed our pre-show dinner. The service was great. We had cocktails, appetizers and entrees that were tasty. Our only suggestion would be to replace the shrimp shumai with a house made version as your house made offerings are great. The restaurant is so convenient for pre-theatre meals. We would definitely come again.
Dinner after Musical
Excellent service, food and value. Convenient location for Forrest Theater! Not too crowded after a matinée performance, but as it became more crowded, the noise level increased dramatically. We sat in a corner that had a dirt smudge on the wall that was unpleasant and would be easy to clean or paint over. There is no decor except for orange/coral walls. Minimalist in style, but wall at eye level of diners should be cleaned. Despite that minor complaint, I would be delighted to return.
Picked this place for its proximity to the Forrest Theater (right across the street) and it didn’t disappoint! Ordered a variety of appetizers which were all very enjoyable and the value of the entrees was unbeatable! Great service as well.
Good food at reasonable price. The chicken satay was just OK. The pad Thai was very good. The parang curry was a standout.
We were out with friends and wanted a Thai restaurant. We had never been to Xiandu, but are glad we went. Though the service was a bit cursory, the food and value were excellent.
We were a party of four, two couples. We both got caught in traffic and were late, but the restaurant was very gracious in holding our table. Two of us ordered the shrimp pad thai. It was a lot of food. There were 5 shrimp that I could find. It was a little too sweet for me. Another of our party ordered the chicken salad and proclaimed it was delicious. Also ordered was the split pea soup which was very good. I had the Tom Kha soup which I really loved.
Very accommodating staff. Enjoyable food. My only disappointment was that the restaurant does not donate gift cards to non-profits, which not only would help the nonprofit also market the restaurant to other diners.
There was a group of 6 and we shared 3 appetizers and 3 entrees. The food was good, especially the appetizers.
Not sure why the price was different on the check versus on the menu?????? I didn’t ask since the server was busy.
Food lacked taste and was unappetizing. I stated I did not like it and it was as if I spoke to a wall. I ordered the sexy fingers, which were cooked too hard and the curry puffs, very bland lacked flavor, and red apple sangria, no comment. I left all of the untouched items on the counter. Will not go there again nor will I recommend this establishment.
We went here before seeing a show. The server asked us if we had tickets and when she found out we did, she made sure our food came out quickly. The pad Thai was delicious with lots of shrimp. Generous portions and very tasty.
It was overall excellent!
Pork chops...amazing, wait staff...awesome and nice young lady.
The pad thai needs more tofu (with veg and tofu) but otherwise it was tastey - staff was very sweet and service was solid - good place for a business lunch -
Nicely presented good food, generous quantities without being overwhelming. Delicious steamed dumplings. Attentive, pleasant staff. We were early so it was initially very quiet but remained at a comfortable volume even when more people were seated.
Pad Thai was very sweet and too heavily sauced. Atmosphere is very nice. Waiter did not offer dessert or coffee.
Nice restaurant, good service, good food, fair prices, large portions , across the street from the forrest theater, but very loud.
Brian was an excellent waiter. Generous portions and great taste. Highly recommend.
The first time we went our waitress was really helpful with recommendations and accommodations. This time was different. The food and choices we made, also after asking for recommendations were not very good.
Great food, fast service and well worth the money. Great for pre show as it’s right across from the Forrest theatre
My wife and I were blown away by the quality of the food and service. We will definitely return to sample other items on the menu.
The appetizers were delicious, we had crispy spring rolls and the salmon spring roll. The Tom Yum soup is one of the best things I've ever eaten. A real treat! My friend had the Bee Hoon with beef. He loved it and finished every last bit. I ordered the chicken saute with garlic and wine sauce. That was the only disappointment of the night. It was very bland, there was no garlic taste at all.
saw Hamilton. Great meal.
The best Thai food I've ever had - extremely fresh.
Great dinner before the theater. Three course pre-theatre meal was enjoyed by one in party. Those who wanted lighter fare ordered appetizers and soup. Many dishes on menu can be spicy but they tell you up front.
I have been here several times and knew that a Saturday night would be busy and noisy so I can not complain. However, management made the decision (on a hot and humid evening) to have the front of the restaurant wide opening to the street. It made the restaurant (for me) unpleasantly hot.
The place has a good ambiance, and the food was amazing!
Excellent food and drinks
Fantastic atmosphere, friendly staff and lots of delicious food for your buck.
We were there earlier in the evening and had seats upstairs. Our waitress was extra considerate, friendly, and responsive; she should be commended for her excellent service. The food was excellent and served quickly. Will most definitely come back and recommend to friends.
Good food, great value and outstanding service! Xiandu has the best Thai food in Philly! We've been never disappointed with our food and drink selections. Bonnie (owner & manager) is always welcoming and friendly, and she and her staff always are helpful, quick and satisfying when servicing our meals. This visit for my (pre)birthday celebration was great -- as always!
Always great food and service
Food was fair. Service good.
1st time at Xiandu for my wife and me. Food, ambiance, and server Foley were top shelf. Foley knew her menu and was very pleasant and attentive. Amazingly inexpensive and short walk to all the theaters.
