Xiandu Thai Fusion Cuisine Ratings and Reviews
Food was really good, with creative sauces. They had a very-difficult time handling a gluten allergy, despite saying they could do it on an advance call. And the server (Jeff) was nice but spoke so quickly we couldn’t understand him, & didn’t stay at our table for more than 5 seconds at a time, even though we had unanswered questions - frustrating.
First time here, but won’t be the last. Ordered 3 or 4 different appetizers to start and they were all so delicious, we couldn’t wait for the entrees. Pad Thai and chicken curry are a must. The food was so wonderful, we wanted to go back the next day for lunch. Professional and engaging service. Loved our waiter. Wish I could remember his name. Wonderful Thai food and a dining must!
We had such a good time the last time we were there that we decided to try it again. I guess the first experience was the best because this time left us feeling a bit flat. It just wasn't as much fun! The waiter was new and not very friendly or just didn't extend himself at all. The waiter we had the first time was fun and outgoing and willing to go out of his way to be friendly. Sometimes that makes the whole experience so much better. We probably won't go back again.
Met a friend at Xiandu on a weekday night after working late.
Started with roti canai and chicken wings; both were tasty but not outstanding.
Entrees were green curry and the Xiandu chicken. Both dishes were extremely flavorful and not overly heavy.
Service was attentive, polite, and did not helicopter.
I suspect that the decor was super comfortable and hip when the restaurant opened. The space remains meticulously clean, but showing subtle signs of age. For instance, my chair sagged more than one should.
Wine selection is limited but reasonably good and fairly priced.
All-in-all, enjoyed the meal a great deal.
I chose this restaurant from the guide Walnut Street Theater gives out to its subscribers. I never heard of it or knew anything about it. Since Saturday night, I have recommended this place to several of my friends. The food was delicious and nicely offered. The service was excellent and the wait staff friendly. I am sure I will be returning.
Amazing Thai cuisine as always. Xiandu is always at the top of their game with fantastic cocktails and expertly prepared entrees. I enjoyed the Tom Kha Soup and was so happy I did. Perfectly blended flavors with super fresh ingredients (WOW). My wife loved her fried dumplings, fresh and perfectly done. My Singapore Pai-koot - Braised spare ribs are so delicious I rarely pass it by on the menu Saturday was no exception. The meat falls off the bone and the grilled lettuce makes the dish. Ownership is truly best in the city !!!
Lunch entrees were very large and delicious. Enough to take some home. Servers are friendly and helpful. When it's not crowded, it is quiet enough for conversation because they do not play loud music. Menu has something for everyone. I have dined there many times and will return and recommend it to friends.
The only misstep here was a friend asked for beef as her protein and got shrimp. Otherwise, the food was quick, and very tasty. Equal options for vegetarians and meat eaters, and I think the taste was very authentic. It could have been a bit more spicy, but I think they cater a little more towards American tastes and tolerance. Went for lunch, portion size was great for lunch and price was awesome. Tables are a bit close together, but the place is really cute, nice tables/chairs/color scheme. We will be back to try the other menu items.
Convenient to Forrest Theatre. My entre had a choice of protein, which I am always thankful for. It included all the way from tofu to beef. I chose the shrimp. They were cooked properly. It was supposed to include eggplant. There were only 2 pieces of eggplant in entire dish. It was very heavy on green beans and peppers. I like both but not to the exclusion of the eggplant. I don't like well cooked vegetables, but these were much too crisp. Nearly raw. Jasmine rice was wonderful. Service was excellent. My friend was happy with Pad Thai. Nice that they offered chop sticks. Chicken satay was very good. Peanut sauce and salad was an excellent accompaniment. Chicken was unevenly cooked. I would like to try other items on menu.
