Xi'an is an upscale Chinese restaurant located in the heart of Beverly Hills. Its lunch offers healthy, vegetarian options like the Snow Peas with Vermicelli or Tofu with Black Mushroom. If you're famished and craving more protein at lunch, one of Xi'an's more popular lunch orders is the Mongolian Beef or Kung Pao Shrimp. For dinner, start with the Crispy Onion Pancakes appetizer followed by Xi'an's Spinach Tofu Soup. The dinner selections range from noodles and rice to chicken, duck, and beef entrées. The Surf and Turf Fried Rice, served with shrimp and BBQ pork fried rice, is a favored order at Xi'an. However, if you are feeling more exclusive, check out the Fusion purview and pair that with a Lychee Mojito or a deliciously sweet plum wine. Xi'an's selection is as astounding as it is healthy, so be sure to frequently enjoy.

Second visit this month. Have visited before. Food last month was very good. Portions this visit were smaller and not as tasty than last month. Disappointing

My only suggestion would be better wines. They will cook things the way you want them.

Not sure what they are called but I am writing about those hard, shell like spices that are red, about 1.5 to 2 inches long. Those should never be served to a customer because of choking hazard. My husband had orange beef yesterday and there were 4 on his plate. He left 3 and 1 was found in the take home leftover box today. I called the restaurant this afternoon but the person I spoke with did not understand English well enough to know what I was talking about.

Years ago I read in the New England Journal of Medicine an article by a doctor who inadvertently swallowed one and had to go to the emergency room. It lodged in his throat. THEY MUST NEVER BE PUT ONTO A PLATE SERVED TO A CUSTOMER. Serious medical hazard. I will write to the restaurant and send them the spice.

Note: We had reservations and still got placed in the poorest location in the restaurant.
If you are one of the lucky ones that gets a table outside then you may have a different opinion of this place. Food was good. Waiter was very rushed, impatient, border line rude in the beginning. We had to beg for one of the drinks he forgot to order. Did not like the service, did not like the vibes.

Food quality ,presentation and flavor were excellent. Noise level made conversation a challenge. Service was slow and indifferent. Some items were much pricier than at like establishments.

My go-to first choice for consistent, great food. Whatever dish you're craving,, they do it and do iit well. Good bar and contemporary, Asian theme decor. Can't miss this eatery.... If you can remember how to say and spell it. Lucky we have progressed beyond 411 and have open table ....

Brought an out of town visitor from NYC for dinner on Memorial Day evening and he insisted on coming back the next night with his former colleague who has relocated here to LA and introduce her to what he called the best Chinese food he had had in years! For a jaded New Yorker to rave, you know it's good.

Great food and hostess was nice and very accommodating for our party. -I would definitely go back there again. Food was good Restaurant can be loud so we sat outside and it was perfect.

Michael and Kami are the type of servers that make an evening extra special. Great personalities, and attentive service. They are two of the reasons we keep going back. BTW, the food is terrific,

We had to ask for water 3 times only to just get it ourselves at the bar. Food was fabulous though. Very busy but we were in and out in an hour on a Saturday night. Served us dessert before dinner plates were removed which was awkward. Felt rushed.

Incredibly poor service with very average food. Pretty much ignored by our waiter who never once smiled or acted remotely intetested in serving us. Empty water glasses for 1/2 of meal. Peking duck fatty. Orange chicken and beef lo mein good but nothing special. Best part of meal were the yummy dumpling appetizers and spring rolls. Will not return! Too many other good choices in Beverly Hills!!

Service was sort of bizarre -- first ignored us, then rushed us. Didn't want to let us have a cocktail first, kept pushing food at us while I was trying to catch up with an old friend. There were plenty of empty tables so it wasn't that. Anyway, wouldn't go back.

Our meat dishes were heavily processed leading to bad texture and taste. Service was unfriendly and rushed.

My family, friends and I have been eating at Xi'an 2-3 times per month for the past 5 years. The food, service is usually excellent. This past weekend, our server was rude, inattentive and seemed to be generally annoyed with being there. She brought us the wrong dish and the rest of our food was completely overcooked. Although the manager was pleasant, she did nothing to help us. Needless to say, I won't be going back anytime soon.
