X2O Xaviars on the Hudson
X2O is always our favorite restaurant. Since we eat there often, it would be nice to see different options on the menu. We usually order the special because we are tired of the same choices. Otherwise, we always enjoy our eating experience at X2O.
Chef Peter has couple restaurants under his administration and it’s really hard to choose the best one, however X2O has some plus that it’s only possible due it’s location the view of hudson river it’s so great and the loyal staff it’s superb. I definitely would recommend for events I had my wedding there and it was just perfect, that’s a qualified opinion since my previous job was with events and this venue score so many points. I definitely recommend the brunch at Sunday those are always sold out and require reservations.
Consistently outstanding across the board. Quintessential dining experience on par with the finest NYC has to offer as in multiple Michelin star worthy! Spot on!!
The place is outstanding and service impeccable .. Would suggest the ravioli appetizer to be cooked a little more , other then that it’s a fantastic experience and we highly recommend it to everyone. Can’t wait to go back!!!
I have been to X20 many times before and always had a great experience!
This time, the service we received from our waiter was terrible!
Everything about this restaurant was excellent, the food choices, the service, and the ambiance.
Ambiance and service were outstanding. Food was presented beautifully, but taste was just average. The cost of the meal was overpriced. The lowest bottle of wine was $57 . Wasn't up to previous Peter Kelly restaurant experiences.
Perfect! Great food and ambiance for a wonderful Anniversary celebration.
5 star service and selections. Been here on holidays, every days, and just because days. Love, love, love.
Planning to go on Tuesday "casual nights" next.
Love the place and the food was amazing but we had a Groupon and they forgot to give us our free prosecco.
I reserved a table for 4 people and requested to be seated next to a window. My husband and I arrived before our friends and were shown to a table for 2 in the middle of the room. I let the hostess know the reservation was for 4 and she brought us to another table in the middle of the room. Oh well.. you can't always get what you want.
My friend ordered a salad with dressing on the side and the salad arrived full of dressing. It was sent back and replaced. Of the 4 entrees we ordered the quail and the chicken were cloyingly sweet. The other 2 entrees were satisfactory. At $30 plus per entree I feel the food , service & ambiance should justify the price.
Food was good but not great. My uncle’s pork chop was a bit dry and there was nothing even remotely vegan on the menu. The service was SLOW. Drinks did not come together so we all had to wait for the birthday toast. It’s not my first time to X2O and was surprised how things have slipped from great to fair.
Always a terrific evening to share a spectacular meal with friends. Service is top notch.
Mixed review. Delicious specials (swordfish, soft shell crabs), chocolate cake; but, skimpy, unattractive heritage tomato salad (a special), tasteless strawberry sorbet. Uneven service. Twenty minute wait for car.
Superb food at a discount - lunch prix fixe. We are frequent diners at X2O for lunch and in my opinion it is the best combination of quality and value. The $27 three-course meal (doesn't include coffee) never fails to meet or exceed expectations, and the menu changes constantly. Almost always one can find creative salads, good soups (excellent gazpacho this time), risottos, etc. for the first course. Entrees include 1-2 fish selections, along with poultry (great duck), a steak, pork, and vegetarian item. Desserts run the gamut, and the three of us chose different items (four are offered). Keep up the good work Peter Kelly.
Skirt steak too tough to eat. Coffee was like mud. Both were replaced. Never had a complaint about the food before.
Food was good and spot is nice but service was very poor
Lives up to its five star reputation, and then some. There were two or three large – table birthday or anniversary celebrations when we were there, and everyone seemed to have a great time. The food is fantastic, and the Hudson river views are one of a kind.
X2O is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is always delicious and, on our recent date, the service was impeccable -- attentive without being overbearing. The staff knew when to give us our space but were there immediately if we needed something. The weather and time of day were perfect and, therefore, we enjoyed watching the sky change colors as we dined. Having eaten there a couple of times in the last few weeks, my only critique would be that the dining chairs need a pick-me-up. They are showing their age and should be re-covered to match the level of cuisine and service for which X2O is known.
All and all a very good Resturant. Extremely nice when the sun is setting. The staff is polite and courteous. A definite place to keep in the date night rotation.
We had a 5:30 PM reservation. When we checked in, we were told the restaurant was not open yet. We were instructed to go to the bar until our table was ready. After 10 min. the hostess came and escorted us to the table. We were the first people seated although 4 other tables were quickly filled. We had seen the other people in the bar area. The service staff were efficient and courteous. My husband had asked for a shrimp cocktail, which was not on the menu. The manager went into the kitchen and informed us that the kitchen staff were making him the appetizer. My husband's striped bass special was delicious. I ordered the duck breast which was tough and bland. We have previously eaten at X2O and have had good experiences. We will not let one experience taint our view but will not make a 5:30 reservation and will stay away from duck dishes.
As always, Peter Xavier Kelly does not disappoint. Despite living in Rockland , dining here is worth the trip. The price fixed lunch was exquisite; delicious and creative. My friend is a first time diner here and he loved everything about the restaurant, from the food to the view to the first class service. I’ll be back
My husband and I were there 2 weeks ago for a Sunday luncheon and loved what we had. So when we were both off this Friday I knew i wanted to go back. For appetizer the risotto was outstanding. The chicken liver pate was so-so. The most disappointing was our entree. The duck confit which I had 2 weekends before was outstanding so I was looking forward to it again. This time though I would say the duck skin was burnt and possible the worst duck confit I ever had. The side was not as good either. My husband ordered the sirloin steak but we were informed that instead of sirloin they had hangar. So ok. But it was so tough that for the first time ever we complained about our food, his in particular. So they offered to replace it. In the meantime I gave my duck to my husband to finish as I was already disappointed. So the 2nd steak arrives and though a tad better it was still tough and chewy. To my surprise when my husband declared he was done, he left about 1/3 of the steak and when I asked him why (normally he would not leave a crumb on his plate) he said he was tired of chewing. Not wanting to leave food on the plate (as my mother taught me), I just ate it. For dessert, the panna cotta was excellent which unfortunately cannot be said of the strawberry trifle. So overall it was quite disappointing.
Nothin like having a wonderful meal and then finding a mouse scurrying back and forth from table to table and freaking out all the diners. Other than this, the food was delicious. We ordered the Japanese Steamed Custard with Uni which I highly recommend. Also the tuna tartare. For entrees we had the Montauk Skate and the Diver Scallops which was phenomenal. Definitely recommend the Crispy Cauliflower side dish too. We sat by the window and watched the sunset. So everything was great up until J was told by several diners around me that the mouse was hiding in the drapes just behind me
Found on top Westchester list and not see besides the view how it made it on that list. The restaurant was dated and the food was just not good. I actually didn’t finish my main as the sauce was just too rich to eat much of it.
Wonderful dinner as usual!
Service was slow. Dessert cane but never brought the coffee.
Terrific lunch. Perfect spot on a summer's day. This restaurant doesn't disappoint. Have enjoyed dinners and brunch here too
Had not been in a while and had a great overall experience. We were five couples, all good friends and the food, service and ambiance were all excellent. View was much better than I remember and on a hot summer night sitting in the air conditioned dining room with views up and down the Hudson was great!
I went with 2 friends from Connecticut and we are still talking about how fantastic the meal was. The food was absolutely delicious, the service friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. I had as an appetiser the green onion risotto with mushrooms, that if I could have taken a tub home with me I would have been very happy. We all had different entrees and each one was totally delighted with the quality, flavor and plating. The setting is delightful, looking over the Hudson River and was wonderful even though it was quite haze and humid so we were barely able to see the Whitestone Bridge. We plan to return in the fall for another opportunity and hopefully this time the view north.
Finding the restaurant was a bit challenging using the Garmin and there is a very small valet parking area.
Besides the problem with the AC, everything was great. Nice sunset views, great service.
Everything was very good except that the a/c was not working properly. That's the reason for the overall 3
Short & sweet, I didn't see or taste anything that would lead me to the center of all the fuss Xaviars over the past couple of years. The service was genuinely terrific, the location could be super, however, it's still in the midst of low-rent Downtown Yonkers. Lipstick on the pig, etc.
Cunilarily, the offerings are distinct enough, but missing the 'pow & wow'. For the neighborhood it's very good, but downtown? I don't see this place easily going head to head in Manhattan with this particlular menu at these prices. Truth be told, I have to say that the food was just kind of 'eh'. Wished it was better and as good as the potato gratin, which was singularly very good.
We went to celebrate my sons birthday. The food and service were amazing as always. The only problem I had was it was so unbearably hot. It was a hot day but it was after sun down so I think their A/C was not working. We were all sweating.
One of 3 the main Dining Room light fixtures was not working. The baseboard heating cover in the corner of the Dining Rm was completely off the wall and laying by the curtain. The dining chairs were noticeably old, nicked and shabby. The carpeting was dirty and worn. While the wait staff tried their best, they were notably undertrained for the level of service this restaurant should command. The disorganized management seemed to be operating noticeably stressed. Hugely disappointing and certainly not worth a return visit. The 4.5 rating on OpenTable does not compare to that of other restaurants, completely deceiving. ....Too many better restaurant options in Westchester providing much better food, value, service and ambiance for the money. Not even an option for consideration as a last resort.
Food and Service was spot on. The issue was the air conditioning wasn’t working and would be days before being repaired. It was so bad we were rushing to get dinner over with.
About our fifth visit there and it gets better each time. The staff was very gracious and attentive. Owner Peter Kelly visited our table a few times to check on us. Very relaxed atmosphere and every food course was fabulous. Very reasonably priced that close to NYC. Traveled from upstate, just wish the place was closer to us! Metro North stops right out front, very convenient. Highly recommended.
I’ve been coming for years and unfortunately have to say X2O was not on point Saturday night. Food was quality but not fantastic. Service was good but entree orders were wrong— forcing two plates to return to kitchen for warming (not good! and no apology!!) so those meats were dry when brought back. Not sure if the a/c was broken but many patrons were uncomfortable and the dining room is starting to look worn. View saved the night. Disappointed overall.
Everything was great except that on a day when the restaurant was not full, the service was very slow. It took a long time for someone to take our order and for the food to come. Ditto simple beverages like Coke.
The food was very good, the music was at the right level. Maitre D and waiter were on point. I was impressed with its location and the view.
