Wu’s house is a Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar which serves the highest quality seafood, steaks and chicken. Located on La Grange Road, we strive to make Wu’s House the taste of elegance. With exciting food, great ambiance, and fabulous hosts you can count on very time, we will become the finest restaurant in town. I have only ever ordered takeout from a Wu's House. Never actually visited a location until this night. My fiancee and I brought our son here for a hibachi birthday dinner. It was a lovely experience. We were sat at a table with 3 other groups. The server was attentive to our table when needed, and our chef definitely showed our table a good time. The food was excellent. The only two downsides: 1) My fiancee noticed his plate was dirty when we first sat down. 2) After our meat was served (which is really the culmination of the experience), we were all pretty much rushed out of there. Mere minutes after we started really eating everything, the server was handing out unsolicited takeout boxes to everyone. Nobody at the table looked happy about it and we all just started packing up our food instead of really eating it. We had only been there for about an hour, a big chunk of which was not even spent eating anything as you wait a bit for them to coordinate drinks, orders, and setup when you're seated. All in all, we had a good time but I didn't care for how the night ended.

Arrived early for my reservation at 7:15, and was finally seated at 7:45. The manager asked us if we wanted to eat in the grill or in the restaurant, and we requested to eat in the grill. I didn’t want Hibachi, but I wanted to eat my sushi and watch the entertainment. Turns out that’s frowned upon. When the waiter took our order and I ordered sushi, he grabbed the manager and she got in my face telling me I had to leave. She said “I asked you…”, so I said “you asked where we wanted to eat, not what we wanted to eat.” She made a huge scene and demanded we leave the grill. We laughed it off, grabbed our drinks, then moved to the restaurant (which was basically a sad ihop booth). My wife ordered the veggie egg rolls, and fortunately I took the first bite because my wife is allergic to shellfish and the waitress brought us shrimp egg rolls. It was a disaster that amused us more than it probably should have. 2 sushi rolls, egg rolls, and chicken Lo Mein was $88. Why was it $88? Well, this restaurant has mostly a black clientele. Their other grill is in a rich white town. One of them charges an automatic 18% “service fee” on all final bills…the other doesn’t. Yep, they tax their black customers. That’s when the entire experience stopped being funny. Outside of the unnecessary rudeness of the manager and staff, and the poor service, this could have been rectified. But after seeing that they stereotype their customer base, and apply fees based on racial stereotypes, it is clear to me that they want the revenue but have disdain for the customers they serve. I would gladly starve before I give them another dollar. They saw a boring white couple that they thought wouldn’t say anything, but after a week of organizing my thoughts I want to make sure as many people as possible understand how this place treats people, and make an informed decision before visiting this restaurant.

Absolutely amazing! Definitely sit at the grill! From the food to the waiters simply amazing and definitely worth the price. Will be visiting again.

The cook who did our first hibachi experience was wonderful. Very cheerful and funny. Plus the food was amazing.
