Anniversary and new adventure. Something new and original.
Great food and a reasonable price for seafood restaurant
I'm not sure how this place gets any bad reviews. The food is excellent and the meal was reasonably priced.
Love this plan!!!! Best spot in Oside!
It was good, not great. Definitely white people sushi. Too much going on, on most dishes. The fish bone was amazing though. Service was also kind of lacking
As always, a great experience. Our guests are still talking about it!
This place was ok. I was expecting to be blown away after the the buzz that has been going on about this place. Server wasn't very helpful in helping to chose what to eat. It was our first time and anytime I asked they just responded "its good". The NZ Mt. Cook salmon sashimi was to die for but everything else was just ok. I am hoping for a better experience next time.
I have been coming to Wrench and Rodents for several years now, and I have never had a bad meal or experience. Wrench and Rodents truly is, one of a kind.
Wrench is one of our favorite places. Really fresh, creative and great service.
Food & presentation were absolutely wonderful 😍, we went for an anniversary dinner & found our new place , very cool neighborhood bar vibe ,we will be back , can’t wait 😋
incredible experience on all categories, but the overall winner is the food. if your palate prefers freshness you can taste and your fantasy demands imaginative innovation and execution... this is the experience for you.
had a delicious dinner, enjoyed chattingvw our neighboring table!
Love this place every time I spend an evening there. Creative and delicious food and service always great. I will continue to return...over and over and will recommend it highly to all of my friends!
Brilliant take on Japanese food that I've never seen captured anywhere else - truly a gourmet experience! You have to try it to believe it!
My husband and I were spending a lovely evening on our 7th wedding Anniversary at this wonderful establishment... Thank you W&R for making this memorable for us. My only criticism would be the lack of parking… But other than that everything was wonderful!
Legitimately one of the top places to eat in North County, and particularly in South O.
Owned & run by locals who live here, doing crazy inventive sushi & fresh seafood dishes, which you can mix & match with the Ramen shop they own next door. Is a loud boisterous dive bar of a sushi place, staffed by happy energetic people throwing out fantastic food. Love this place.
True artists behind the sushi bar. Great service and the best food what more do you need!
Always a pleasure to experience the amazing creations that W&R produce!
great food, reasonable price for the quality. I would definitely come back again
This is one of our favorite restaurants in all the world. The inventiveness of the food, the flavors, the atmosphere, and the service all combine to make this a truly must-eat if you’re ever ANYWHERE near San Diego.
Casual atmosphere. Friendly and efficient service. We chose the omakase option and were so glad we did. Every single dish was amazing. Davin's heterodox approach to sushi is incredibly refreshing. We will definitely be back. Definitely check out the well executed website to find out more about the owners and their food.
All our visits(3) have been excellent. Now I want to return for omakase at the bar and interact with Maistro and the chefs!
Service and food were incredible. My friends and I enjoyed our meal- we had the omakase and left the dishes up to the chef. Highly recommend!
Food is always top notch.
Food was ok, service was ok. Ambience is underwhelming and felt a little dirty. Menus were filthy, had to request clean ones. Menu selection is sparse for a sushi joint. Value isn't really there, it's overpriced for what you get.
Really great spot- only for special occasions for us though. Definitely a low-key vibe in the place with amazing(!) and creative seafood focused dishes. The only reason it's more for special occasions in my mind is the price. I don't mind paying a fair price for locally, fairly sourced and awesome food, which this is, but it doesn't mean I can afford it all the time. Will definitely go back, even if the service was a bit slow that night. The baked scallop appetizer was fantastic; though we will definitely try their Omakase "chef's choice" next time to get a chance to try even more!
Good but a little bit over-hyped. Chef is innovative experimenting with flavors sweets and salts with sushi. The entree items were creative and perhaps a little better than the sushi.
Sit at the bar and request chefs choice! Those guys are complete sushi artists and enjoy what they do!! Highly recommend.
Our waiter was a sweet kind young man who may have forgotten a few items we ordered at the end, but that didn’t matter to us! He was still very attentive and sure to make our experience delightful, the food was incredible, great birthday dinner.
Such a fantastic spot! The dishes are amazing- definitely recommend opting in to the omakase. Cool ambiance to top things off!
Some of the most unique sushi I have ever encountered. Every item we ordered was delicious to the point my wife (who usually does not eat sushi) coulnd not say which was the best. They were all great. Service is perfect and knowledgeable and while the seating area is tight and noisy, the ambience is still there.
Over priced, disappointing omakase. Cost over $180 for 2 people with 8 "tastings", 1 beer, 1 glass wine and a $15 corkage fee. Ridiculously expensive, left hungry and felt taken advantage of with the pricing. Wish I had ordered off the menu instead. The service and food quality were fine only half the meal was good. The other half consisted of overly sweetened fish and lackluster kitchen offerings. Definitely not going back any time soon.
Food was just ok. Service was good but over priced
Amazing food! Everything we ordered was delicious!
As always, wonderful food and company. Best sushi in town.
I sat at the sushi bar and ordered omakase. The chefs brought me everything from prepared food and sashimi from set menu to unique dishes not available on the menu. I wish I lived closer so I could go back all the time!
Terrible vegetarian options
A unique culinary experience. Every time I dine here I am blown away!
Delicious food and the specials were terrific. The cod exceptional and so was the pork bellies with mushrooms
Fun and funky with terrific food.
Amazing food, amazing service, amazing people. Remember Mandatory Chronic Roll!
