Founded in 2013 by Davin and Jessica Waite, Wrench & Rodent is a space for culinary exploration and collaboration. This cozy, eclectic restaurant quickly became a destination for those who appreciated Chef Davin’s creative approach to celebrating local and responsibly sourced fish and produce.

In addition to a set sushi menu, Wrench offers an omakase as well as a list of specials that change daily. The team is committed to reducing waste and enhancing flavor by elevating all cuts of fish and veggies, as well as featuring a diverse range of species. Many menu items are simple, fresh and creative, with a lesser-known fish species complimented by ingredients from the backyard garden. Byproduct utilization drives the menu as well, and recent explorations with aging techniques have led to a dry aged fish program. Plant-forward preparations are also celebrated, and a vegan omakase is available upon request.

Aiming for zero waste, almost every fish part is used. The menu, which includes a showstopping omakase, reflects chef Davin's Japanese and French culinary training. Expect ever-changing dishes that might include squid sashimi with jalapeño, lingcod nigiri with uni butter, and mackerel apple tabbouleh with sea grapes. Pair it with one of the top-notch sakes or cocktails on the menu.

    This nightly omakase features the freshest local fish and produce, blending a strong commitment to culinary tradition with the playful irreverence that sets our team apart. Courses include thoughtful sashimi presentations, a broad array of nigiri, as well as a unique salad and a hot course. Our team is committed to reducing waste and enhancing flavor by elevating all cuts of fish and veggies, as well as featuring a diverse range of species. Many menu items are simple, fresh and creative, with a lesser-known fish species complimented by ingredients from the backyard garden; a recent example is local rockfish in nasturtium and mint water. Byproduct utilization drives the menu as well, with preparations like ‘seared black cod with black cod liver poached in wagu beef fat’ making an appearance. Recent explorations with aging techniques have led to a dry aged fish program that yields dishes such as aged toro with shio koji orange juice, dry aged salmon with chamomile, and aged kampachi with confit tomatoes and wagyu lardo. Plant-forward preparations are also celebrated, and a vegan omakase is available upon request.

Hosted inside Wrench & Rodent Seabasstropub on Monday and Tuesday nights, this limited seating format allows for an up-close and personal experience reminiscent of the early days of Wrench. Since opening their first restaurant together more than a decade ago Davin and Jess have come full circle, building multiple acclaimed restaurants (and closing a few), only to realize how much they crave the intimacy and connection of a small dining room. Waite & Sea is a hyper-local and hands-on answer to this calling for connection. The menu will consist of 12+ courses designed to excite, inspire and challenge diners. For those who crave it, a lively conversation will evolve around the tenants of sustainability featured in the meal, the reverence for cultural tradition embedded in their ethos, and a rally cry for a bold new future of food. Part tasting menu, part food lab, and full of Davin Waite debauchery, Waite & Sea is a rebellious journey in a two hour dining experience.

    We have always enjoyed eating at Wrench and Rodent but the Waite and Sea and was an amazing experience. Davin has taken sushi to a whole different level. Great to experience the mind behind all the wonderful dishes set before us. He and his wife Jess make a great team!!

    Went to wrench and Rodent to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We have been here once before and they did not disappoint, the service was wonderful and the food is unique and so tasty. Love this place and will definitely be going back.

    After reading some mixed reviews, I was a little apprehensive about trying this place, but we got a gift card from my daughter. We were not disappointed in how great the food was! We had this special salmon collar. Not a big fan and we never need to do that again but Eight dollars, we couldn’t go wrong. We had two of the specialty rolls for $22 each and they were delicious. Avoid the fried one though that is top on their menu. The chicken fried rice was unlike anything I have ever tasted before! It was not traditional at all! It had big chunks of Chicken And so many yummy vegetables! Just an excellent flavor! A beer and a sake, and we got out of there for $100! Not bad for a date night! We will be back and tell everybody about it! Morgan was an excellent server! I enjoyed seeing the kitchen staff look like they were having so much fun and were full of smiles

    we had the omekase menu. regular and plant based. one of each. the flavors were very strong. sauces and toppings drowned out the taste of the actual food being served. i’m not sure if i agree with the favor combinations also. service and atm were great though. i would say next time, i would get the rolls which looked very filling and were beautiful.

    Great food! We tried several different items and all were delicious. Geovani (probably spelled wrong) was a very good server with excellent recommendations. Will definitely be back again.

    Nigiri rice seamed old, the service was slow at the beginning which set a bad tone. We were over charged, didn’t see it until after I paid, and was told I’d get credited back— still waiting for that but haven’t been able to get anyone on the line. We had the omakase. The portions were good but the value moot point if it was just meh. Some dishes were good, some were okay, I’m not a gazpacho fan but my table didn’t like it either, nothing blew me away.
