WP Kitchen + Bar - Greensboro Ratings and Reviews
Really disappointed. Waited over an hour for out entree to be served. Three different pasta dishes and they were all not as advertised and disappointing. Restaurant was 1/2 full for dinner and waitress said multiple times the delay was due to an influx of orders. Thanks,
We stopped in for brunch today. Brunch menu in the restaurant was much smaller than what we saw on the online menu. We found the food underwhelming and overpriced. Sidebar: my husband did not care for the fact that his steak was served to him already sliced.
The place was all a buzz and lively without question. A Saturday night crowd. We ordered a bottle of wine and first round of apps and salads. That all came out quickly enough. Not quickly but we waited a solid 45 for our entrees, the special for the evening, wild boar. I had asked the waitress about the special prior to ordering. Was it a shank where the meat falls off the bone. She assured me it was. We asked about the entrees becaus it hadn’t taken so long. They came out and were nothing less than a hockey puk. Dry and hard. The manager claimed that was what wild boar was like. I have had it before and it was nothing like my puk I was given. He allowed us to order Dom etching else and we did. Another solid 25 minutes and we were almost too tired to eat.
Food was good this time out but the timing ruined it. Slow slow slow
Interesting. First time eaten there for dinner. Nice, quiet environment. Service was exceptional. Thank you Jordan! Two at the table had pasta. Neither liked their pasta. "Oily" was used by both to describe. I tasted one with meatballs and it was not good. They need to work on their pasta dishes. However two at the table ordered the half chicken and it was excellent. I would order it again. One didn't like the hot spices on top but I did. Chicken was very clean tasting and prepared exceptional. Calimari appetizer was excellent but the smoked salmon would not order again. Bottom line I would go back. If there had been a 3.5 overall rating I would chosen it.
It was a nice departure to try WP Kitchen. I would go back again to try some of their other dishes. Service was as good as any of the top restaurants in Greensboro and much better than most.
We enjoyed the ambiance and service. The only downside was a more limited menu than we expected and smaller than "normal" portion sizes. The special was a sirloin steak. We didn't order it because the waitress said it was a 6 oz steak. I've never seen a steak that small on a menu before and didn't want to risk leaving there hungry. I had a pasta dish that was good but undersized. The other guests had meals that were small but with an appetizer, we all left satisfied. I'd go back, but probably not when I was really hungry.
Not sure why this place is not packed all the time. They have a very good variety on their menu and it is very good for the price. In addition to this we have always received great service. Their Caesar salad is one of the best in the area and have a large portion that they will gladly split which is just right for 2 people. When this place first open I felt their prices were on the high side and the menu limited, but they have changed their menu and pricing structure that makes it a much better value especially for the quality of the food. Definitely worth trying if you haven't been here before or have been away for awhile.
We had a delicious meal at WP Kitchen and Bar. The salads were tasty and generously portioned, and pur steak specials were scrumptious. Since it was Thursday we had two for one craft cocktails, and they really hit the spot. I must mention the warm, professional service too.
We visited Greensboro and WP Kitchen + Bar once again and brought our daughter this time to enjoy the great food offerings. I had the flat iron stake with side vegetables and blue cheese crumbles on top and it was cooked to perfection. My wife enjoyed North Carolina Mountain trout with snow pea, asparagus, and onions sauteed which she ate every bit of and enjoyed very much. Our daughter a fish sandwich on flat bread with fries and she said it was excellent. I will return the next time I'm in town to enjoy the fine food at WP Kitchen + Bar.
Overall a good experience. Food was tasty if not all that inspired, avoid the pizza if you are looking for an authentic Italian slice. Calamari was well prepared but was no different than at most similar restaurants. Chicken and trout were both delicious - would go back for either. One of many similar restaurants in Greensboro, you may want to explore more locally owned (and less pricey) options rather than going to this Wolfgang Puck chain restaurant.
We have eaten at this restaurant several times. It has always been good. WP Kitchen has now changed its name and menu. The menu is a definite improvement. The pizza, salmon, and the arugula, burrata, and prosciutto salad was very good. The service was satisfactory. We will return in the future.
Did not enjoy the dining experience. Waiter didn't provide his name and didn't let us know if there were (or weren't specials). Manager not dressed well. Could see boxers through jeans with holes. Service was a little slow and surprising given that there were only 10 tables occupied at 7 PM.
Food was not worth the price. Steak was over-seasoned and over-cooked. Fries came out cold. Brick chicken was overcooked and without flavor. Broccoli side was not roasted long enough and came out bitter and overdressed.
Was very disappointed in the experience and will not be back.
Went there for Mother's Day. Got there and seated by 11:15am. We did not receive our food until after noon. They claimed that the issue was a big party they had inside. There were so few customer in general it is hard to believe. It also is less believable when our inattentive waitress tell us that the menu for today was modified to make things smoother because they knew they were going to be busy.
Food tasted good, but portions are small and overpriced. Managers comped our two mimosas but still would not recommend.
An unexpectedly great experience! We were remiss in making reservations for dinner on Saturday night and found WP kitchen and bar with available seating for our party of three. I was under the (wrong) impression that this was just a pizza and burger place, which it does have, but the menu was more extensive and more interesting than most I have found in Greensboro. Our meals were interesting and delicious. Our server Courtney, was pleasant, accommodating and efficient. Overall a very pleasant surprise and a lovely evening
The restaurant is very loud when it's full so you can feel like you are creaming across the table just to be heard. The food was good but we had someone with us that has a real Gluten allergy and to get any bread would have cost her $5 more. That seems a little high when you have Gluten free pizza dough... The Blue Cheese Truffle chips were really good and a nice plate to share as an appetizer. My fennel sausage pizza wasn't nearly has good as my husbands goat cheese pizza. The pizzas really aren't large enough to be shared but were pretty reasonably priced. All in all, it's was ok. I'm not sure I would rush back to go again, but it was ok.
Friendly and knowledgeable server, good food and reasonably priced, however the wait time for our food was very long with only a half full restaurant for lunch. It took about 30 minutes for our flash fried calamari appetizer and hot chips from order time. Another 20-30 minutes for our lunch. What should have been an hour turned into almost 2 hours. We skipped coffee and dessert due to time.
