   Good choice of tables according to your preference. Waiter was witty and knew his food. Service was prompt. I can recommend the liver followed by pavlova. I will definitely be back.

   Everyone in our party enjoyed the food, which came nicely served. I have marked it down because my rump steak, while cooked as requested- medium rare, was full of gristle and difficult to eat. Probably I should have returned it. The dining area at the Worplesden Place has always lacked atmosphere so no change there. We chose the Malbec at £18 which was fine but this was the only affordable wine on the list. A few more would be welcome. The serving staff were generally helpful but our waitress (Jen) in particular was exceptional.

   The setting itself is okay. But tired. The staff didn't seem to have a clue what they were doing. Our waiter never seem to check if we needed drinks so we were going up to the bar to get them ourselves. The bar staff couldn't cope with even an order of two drinks without getting confused they were more interested in socialising with their friends the other side of the bar. The food was okay but that's as far as that goes. The steak was tough, the burgers tasted like kebab meat and the fish was very greasy. I would not recommend this place and will not return either

   Fantastic Sunday Roast. Now it has new owner it is so much better than it used to be! We had a great Sunday lunch there for a reasonable price.

   My husband and I booked here for Valentines Day (Daughter was out in town for her birthday as we wouldn't normally go out for Valentines dinner). So to start we were sat next on top of a radiator that is possible as hot as the surface of the sun! Husband was at the valve end of that so we turned it off but was still blasting out heat all meal. The first waitress was pleasant enough, however trying to get her attention for drinks refill was next to impossible. Starters were both ok. Main course was duck, which was massively overcooked and tough as old boots. The Risotto was passable. Ordered deserts with a different waitress, much better. However we were given Soup Spoons to eat it with, but were changed to desert spoons without hassle when we asked. As we had to pick up daughter we asked for the bill at the same time as coffee, the bill came but then no one returned to take the money. We then had to chase someone down after finishing coffees just to pay. The whole time the Manager (?) spent the whole time striding from the Dining Room through to the Bar and back again, with the face of thunder, this was a bit off putting. It was also slightly annoying that he decided to hold conversations with the regulars as they were leaving, about 10 inches from my back. I think if you were a regular then you probably do ok, but I certainly won't be returning or recommending.

   The service and food are excellent now. The staff are very friendly and service was well timed. The food is really excellent now, definitely gastropub territory. When we moved to the area a few years ago the food was pretty grim - defrosted tired pub 'classics'. Now the food is in another much better class, if you haven't been for a while I recommend giving it a new try. Open log Fire in dining room also a nice touch. We will did entirely be back!

   The menu was quite limited and bore little resemblance to the website. Food and service were adequate but definitely nothing special. We'd booked for a birthday treat and travelled about 20 minutes. We needn't have bothered as most of our local pub restaurants would have been at least equal. If in the area and hungry it'll do but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit again.

   Enjoyed a lovely Saturday lunch to celebrate a birthday. I asked for a table near the window overlooking garden and the setting couldn't have been more perfect. The tables were well-spaced, so we had some privacy and it made the meal feel special. The food was delicious, presented beautifully, hot and fresh. Vegetables were 'al dente'. Large portions so you don't need more than 2 courses. Good value for money for quality, attentive staff. We waited a while for each course, food looked like it had been cooked from scratch, which explained the wait. Best for special meals in unhurried atmosphere.

   Service was very slow. Waited 45minutes for our mains and then the same again for our desserts, which then turned up without spoons. When we asked for some we got soup spoons.

    I have eaten here quite a lot since it has changed hands. The service is excellent. The food is good and very well presented. The menu choice needs to alter though from time to time. Otherwise ise great!
