WORKSHOP kitchen + culture
They accommodated our requests with no trouble, really appreciated it!
Wonderful dining experience
Food was great and the service was spot on
There needs to be more education in gluten free options with the servers. I ended up getting sick from the potatoes which I think were cooked in the same deep fryer as wheat. Cross contamination needs to be understood and addressed. Otherwise great place
Great dining experience all around and one of better restaurants I have been to in Calgary. I did find the wine list over priced relative to other comparable restaurants, but despite that, still well worth going.
I will definitely be back.
It was good. Food was amazing.
I was a bit disappointed in the fish feature. The fish itself was fine but the chickpea curry was watery and a bit tasteless and I did not like the naan bread underneath the sauce. Usually the food is outstanding so this was a bit unusual.
Good fresh tasting food. Did the 3 course taster. Bobby was awesome. Great place to go as a group
What a great restaurant! Loved every bite. Knowledgable staff, fresh food.
We ordered the 5 course Chefs Menu and it was amazing, although we chose our own wine off the bat before ordering our food (and was a good choice) we would go with the wine pairing next time.
Our server was knowledgeable and experienced.
It was a great night.
Great food with delicious flavours. Had the Improv chefs choice meal, told the server we had a show to get to and he was able to compromise with a 4 course meal with wine pairing (rather than the 5 which would have been crunched for time) interesting flavours inspired by South America, France, Thailand, sounds like a mix but went really well together on our taster meal. Would definitely recommend for a date or special occasion!
Thoroughly enjoyed the “3 course surprise” dinner. Would not normally order duck but it was wonderful. Will definitely return.
Was just in for the soup and salad and it was excellent. Great quality food and the price is reasonable. They are also very flexible with making changes to the meal which I always appreciate.
Excellent! Will definitely be back. Gluten Friendly
The food was absolutely delicious and the Lougheed Lunch is a great deal. Awesome ambiance and service!
Our server mixed up the order and had we not questioned the cutlery presented we would have been served the wrong meals. We also did not get refills or water without asking. I expect those services for this price point.
One of the best meals I’ve had in years. Our server was attentive to our every need. Even helped us decide what would work best for my sister’s pregnancy restrictions. I will recommend this experience to everyone that asks for a restaurant recommendation. I will return as often as I am able
One of the best meals I ever had in Calgary. Amazing.
Amazing food as always. The quality and creativity of the dishes served here are superb. It's a bit pricey which is why we only go for special occasions but it is well worth it.
Amazing food, great service. Tried foods I never would have and it was all amazing.
Workshop is one of my favorite restaurants in Calgary. Service and execution of the set menu was great. My only complain would have to be that I felt the dishes were very ‘safe’ and didn’t have the creativity that sets the restaurants apart from others.
Staff and food were excellent, will definitely go back.
My Mother’s birthday
The food never disappoints at Workshop. The lougheed lunch is great for a business lunch, they always get me back to work within the hour. I do find it rather chilly on the cold winter days though (it’s an old building), but the ambience is generally very good.
I love Workshop for lunch - consistently great food, good value, and quiet enough to have a conversation at the table!
We loved our off-menu Monday dinner. The three course meal was inventive, delicious, and perfectly portioned. The chef was also very accommodating of my food restrictions. I’m looking forward to another off-menu experience!
As usual our meal was outstanding. The Artic Char was melt-in-your-mouth wonderful while the soup and salad were both flavourful and fresh.
Soooo...apparently the chef is a 23 year old female! She’s INCREDIBLE! So talented! Our 4 course dinner was worth every penny and each course was like a piece of art! I love this place!
Food was incredible! Had a great dining experience.
The food was incredible and the service was outstanding. I would recommend the Workshop to anyone!
Not my first time here, but the food is always terrific, you can share sides (get Brussels sprouts AND cauliflower), portions are just right, a few superb choices and one mystery meal, rather than pages of undifferentiated options. It is like eating art. I love the ambiance, too ... you come in through the ornate remains of the Grand Theatre, walk in, and then it’s all Bauhaus. Light, easy, but attentive service, with focus on the food.
The quality of the food is consistently excellent. I love coming to this restaurant!
Appies were terrific (beef tar tar and cauliflower), however the main salmon dish was not (Hard risotto gave poor texture). The service needs work. The person did not explain Lougheed lunch and lunch ran 20 minute too long and two clients had to run out with to go bags.
This is a great restaurant that I will continue to bring clients to, however a little work on the service part is needed.
I've eaten twice here for business lunches and both times the meals were excellent. The service is friendly and prompt. Good food and reasonably priced.
The food, service and space was amazing. It’s a bit pricy but really you get what you pay for! One of the best experiences I’ve had in a very long time. We did the 3 course chef pairing and was perfection. Will definitely go again
Went there for a date night and had the 5 course tasting menu. Everything was delicious and creative. The wine pairing was really good to! The service was amazing, the staff were all friendly and very efficient! Since they change their tasting menu everyday I will definitely go back! It was a perfect evening! Thank you!
Amazing restaurant, the food was delicious, our server was super professional and knew every plate, the environment was super good. We went there to celebrate our anniversary and for sure we will come back.
The kitchen was loud today! Always a great place
Would be nice if they did the Lougheed Lunch for vegetarians. What they offered me for the $25 was not a very good value. Love the polenta lasagna though and wish that half of that could be included for the vegetarian Lougheed lunch.
We had a team lunch this week. We’ve all been before on several occasions with great experiences, however we were all disappointed by the most recent visit. To start, our lunch took about 2 hours (from about 1230 to 230) which is far from ideal for a workday lunch downtown. We didn’t order anything extravagant so I don’t see why it would take so long. And to top it off, we were double charged for the automatic gratuity (36% instead of 18%). Additionally, and I don’t know if this is standard, but the gst was applied after the gratuity, also increasing the bill. After notifying the staff, the manager credited the mistake (although took a couple attempts after recharging one of the bills). Other than that, there was no real apology or acknowledgement of the issue which wasn’t great. It makes us wonder how many other groups that day had been double billed without knowing.
