Excellent new menu. A real find if you're looking for a well-priced sit-down meal in the FiDi.

This used to be my "go to" place for business lunches and after work drinks. Under new ownership, the food is inedible. I've tried a number of things but all are terrible. Could anyone ruin a burger? YES. Make it thin and over priced and put it on a Wonder Bread bun and then present it on a tin tray. Their plating is overly pretentious. It is all about looks now and nothing about substance. Service is terrible when they do remember to bring you what you ordered. The music is so loud you can't have a conversation. The bartenders ignore you. Not surprisingly, the after work bar scene is completely gone as is the lunch crowd. It is a "one and done" place with tumbleweed blowing through the empty space.

Horror show at its best! everything that could go wrong, went wrong. main entrees came before drinks!!!! are you kidding me? half the menu did not have produce available, on friday night at 630pm reservation you dont have steaks??? or lobster salad?? 1 item for stale deserts??

mixed up orders, lack of attention and uncooked salmon garanteed. they even managed to add
insult to injury by charging 20% gratuity fee. if it wasnt for special occasion and respect for people at the table, whole staff and owner would have been sent marching to go f themselves.

apparently you can ignore all previous reviews because the place is under new management, was sold few months ago.

STAY AWAY!!

The service was exceptional since the minute we walked thru the door. A waiter welcomed me and when I told him I had a reservation, they had the table ready. We were lucky to score a table by the window--perfect for people watching. This is centrally located across the street from NY City Hall so its a perfect spot for business meetings. The clientele is clearly business-like around lunch time. The food was delivered in a prompt manner in a nice presentation. They have high ceilings and its quite spacious.

I had the turkey sandwich and it was delicious. The bacon was crispy and the bread toasted just right. The fries were freshly made as was the side salad.

We were not rushed to leave and the waiter came to the table at the appropriate time to check in on us. We were very satisfied and I will place this restaurant on the rotation.

Since it has the name tower, I thought it would be high with a view. Food wasn't special. Good service and I could talk with friends but disappointed it wasn't a special place for my get together with friends!

Used to go here 2-3 times a week; will go much less often now. For some reason they've changed the décor so it's no longer unique/quirky. Also much less comfortable with the pleather banquette seating, tiny wood tables (used to have ample round tables with tablecloths). The space could be ANYWHERE -- Upper West Side, Upper East Side, Midtown. All personality is gone. The food is quite good, though. Unfortunately, someone decided that the personality of the place had to go. It's a shame. Now rather run-of-the-mill. It's good, but no longer special.

Ordered Turkey and Brie sandwich for lunch. Roll was cold (not fresh), and the serving of Brie on both halves of the sandwich was the size of a postage stamp (no exaggeration). When I asked the server about it, she was clearly unhappy and offered to show me the menu so I could see the description. I declined politely, telling her that I knew what was supposed to be on the sandwich (which is why I ordered it in the first place). She walked off without saying anything and got the manager, who kindly offered to add more Brie. After the sandwich was returned to me, the server didn't come back to the table until it was time to ask if we wanted dessert. She left us there another 30 minutes waiting for the bill.

My colleagues said the food was average at best. The crab cake was lukewarm, and the salmon was dry. Good feedback about the calamari salad. $90 for lunch for 4, no beverages other than water. Based on the lousy service alone (manager was the exception), we won't be returning with or without any clients.

We started with a nice bottle of Prosecco and shared the coconut shrimp. My dining partner ordered the mac and cheese and I had the paella. We shared the chocolate cake for dessert.

Overall, the food was good but not exceptional.
The decor is pleasant but, again, not memorable. In fact, the ambiance is rather sedate.
Service was okay but given the few diners could have been more attentive. I had to refill our own champagne flutes myself a couple of times. Mid way through our waitress was gone and replaced by another waiter. I guess they didn't need two wait staff!

The owner/ manager needs to do more to advertise and attract both new diners and develop a base of regulars.

I live in walking distance but Kitchen as is wouldn't be one of my regulars nor one of the 'must dine' destinations for special occasions or for bringing out- of- town guests.

The Woolworth Tower Kitchen is on the ground floor of this landmark building, nowhere near a tower. It does not resemble the classy place depicted online. The walls are dismal gray. Wooden chairs are uncomfortable. There are booths, but the waitstaff will not seat anyone there although I had a dinner reservation. The lasagna was so-so. Empty for dinner, I was told it draws a large business lunch crowd from WTC and Wall Street. My waiter was polite and efficient.

I like this place a lot - good option for lunch near WTC. Salad was not as good as it usually is; in fact, it was soggy (WTK salad with shrimp). Certainly willing to go back & try again...

Consistently good food. Lots of daily specials, and the salads are generous portions with plenty of grilled chicken or shrimp that you can add. Quinoa salad was tasty, and smoked salmon special looked very good.

I've been here several times, and took my team of six people out to lunch. Everyone's entree arrived except mine. When I got the attention of my waitress, she checked the computer and said she had forgotten to put the order in for my entree, but it would be right out. It was a bit of a wait, and the rest of the group had already finished eating by the time my entree arrived. Also, one person's steak needed to be returned, as it was very rare, and not "medium." I would expect something to be comped when these things happen. Coffee, dessert, or we're very sorry....anything.

Tucked away on Barclay St, Woolworth Kitchen is worth finding. Excellent choice of salads, and added grilled chicken on top was tasty & moist. Linguini dish looked good, too. Definitely recommend!

Will not waste my time re-living my awful experience with the unbelievably unprofessional wait service from Johnny the server so will paste my Yelp review...

I can't believe my very first restaurant review on Yelp has to be a bad one but I was so disappointed with my experience at WTK. I couldn't wait to meet my friends for dinner. They work in the area so they've dined at this restaurant for lunch. I read the menu and already knew what I would have for dinner.

I arrived at the restaurant psyched for a great time and great meal, walked in and all the excitement died off while I waited 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge me and seat me. I had to walk over to the bartender to get help and he got one of the waiters to help me. I had to ask about drinks, ask for a drink menu and ask if there were any specials. And it kept going downhill. They brought out our appetizers and then minutes later brought out our entrees, cramming everything onto the small table. The waiter never came to check on us, the busboy never even came by to refill our water, nor did he or the waiter come by to clear our plates. I was so fascinated by dining surrounded by all piled plates and now cold food that I had to take a picture of it. I work in television and for one split second I thought we were in the middle of some insane reality prank show but nope, it was real. My friend finally lost it with the waiter who was unbelievably rude and asked for the manager. No manager on the premises. The bartender, bless him, helped and comped some of our bill. FYI - never eat at Johnny's station! Totally unprofessional.

I will say my dumplings were delicious. My pasta was cold but flavorful. Had to bring it home. I did like the food but I would never go back to a place that has waitstaff who act like they're doing me a favor. A shame.

Very simple menu of American standards like meatloaf and steak. It is not a place for foodies. You go for the ambiance - a huge and quiet space with decor from the 70s - actually it looks like something you might have found in Warsaw or Bucharest in the 70s. No effort put into making it stylish. This disregard for fads is what makes it so appealing.

Cordial and efficient hostess/waitress. Extremely noisy bar scene - drinks were generous and good. Food was plentiful "home cooking" style: meatloaf tasty, seafood risotto ok. Very convenient to Pace University Schimmel Theater, so served the purpose.

Meeting a peer for a catch- up lunch, I was excited to go to the beautiful Woolworth Building downtown. Although the staff was very nice and efficient, the food and beverage was not acceptable. We both had beet salad expected with goat cheese and added grilled salmon on top. When the dishes arrived we both could not identify the fish, the walnuts had gone bad, the beets were odd tasting laying on sad lettuce with unsalted feta-like cheese with the goat missing. Being in such a good mood, I thought I would just enjoy a breadstick and order some de café coffee. I could not break the breadstick no matter how hard I tried. The coffee was like a water with half and half as the only saving grace. Pass.

Depressing spot. Virtually empty. One server. I ordered the special omelette of the day. I ce out with the vegetables inside ice cold. Sent it back. Came out with a new omelette but the cook forgot to add the cheese. To their credit , they didn't charge us for my omelet but I ate after my dinner companion finished his meal. Server explained that they had a "new cook". First and last time at this restaurant.
