Had empty wine glasses a few times, and long wait between courses.
Limited menu.
Been to better places that had more value/ quality food for cost. Ie. Bridgette Bar or mercato in Calgary.

Food and portions were great. Disappointed there was no chicken on the menu and only option was to go vegetarian. But the rest of my group loved the lamb.

Haven't been at Woodworks for a while, and we were quite disappointed. The cocktails (which are typically very creative and delicious) were weak/watered down; the kale salad was a far distant second to their brassica salad (which is still noted on their on-line menu); our lobster entree came out raw/cold (although the accompanying veggies were very tasty). Our server was absolutely wonderful: she was knowledgeable about the cocktails and food offerings, and made recommendations for both- she was the highlight of our dining experience. Not sure if we will be returning anytime soon....

I was really disappointed with Woodwork. The mussels were not cleaned properly, the salad was overbearing and tough (Kale), and the drinks were expensive. Sorry, would not go back.

Woodwork is an Edmonton staple for anyone who wants to escape the humdrum Irish pub that blights our city. Great hand crafted drinks and great food.

Good food and location for work after work meetings. Limited wine and bar menu is good. I am not looking for waldo.

Overall nice ambience in the restaurant. I ordered the striploin, and though it was seasoned well and cooked to order, the steak and sides were lukewarm and the steak had quite a bit of gristle. The quality of the steak didn't seem to match its price. I enjoyed my glass of wine. We didn't order dessert but had hoped to have coffee and tea, and thought it was unusual that coffee and tea service were not offered. Overall it was a good meal, but it could have been a bit better for the price.

Food was great! The restaurant was incredibly busy for 530pm and the lone server and hostess were excellent in handling everything. Very professional, organized, and welcoming service.

The food was phenomenal. The music did not fit with the French restaurant setting. It would be great if the restaurant would install a wind curtain at the entrance so the cold wind coming from the street does not enter the restaurant.

The service was excellent. Food extremely well prepared and the atmosphere was fantastic. Very cosy. We started talking to the people at the next table and it ended in a big social event. The restaurant lends itself to engaging people around you.
Thanks guys I will be back and back and back!

The food was excellent and our server was welcoming and pleasant. The cocktails were also fantastic; we tried three different varieties of old fashioned and they were all delectable. Service was a bit slow and we did have to wait a bit for our table in spite of our reservation, but dessert was on the house to compensate, and our table was situated near the back, away from the front door which was nice for such a cold evening. The venue is fairly loud but we could still hear each other's conversation. The ambiance was lovely. Woodwork is a great restaurant with good food and cocktails, I would certainly recommend it.

Food is generally too salty. At least 25% more than normal. Good if you are going to have a couple bottles of wine to wash it down. The chef did pay attention to the combination of different ingredients and the food is outstanding.

We visited Woodwork early on a Friday evening for a date night and had a lovely meal. The restaurant filled up quickly but despite being very busy, our server was very polite and efficient. This is perhaps not the easiest venue for quiet dinner conversation, as the atmosphere was decidedly energetic by 6:30 pm, but watching the bartenders was quite entertaining. We thoroughly enjoyed a foray into their large mixed drink menu, which were artfully presented and dangerously delicious. Their wine list (although we didn't order from it this time) had grown a bit since the last time we were at Woodwork. We split several dishes: hickory frites to start, the homemade pasta special, the caramelized brussel sprouts, and the sticky toffee pudding. Everything was very tasty. We have been to Woodwork a couple of times already, and we will certainly be back again.

Great food. Good service. Nice restaurant. Only down side is the door lets in cool drafts. They need to put in a second door (alcove door) to prevent that. It will be very cool and draft come January.

Craaaaaaaaazy delicious! Price is bang on for the quality of food you're getting. I would say with an appy, glass of wine, and main, you're looking at about $60/person for 2. But crazy crazy delicious. Cocktails were great. Wine was great. Food was great. Yummy. 100% recommend

My husband and I were given gift cards to this restaurant, so we decided to book a table for 2 for 5pm to celebrate our anniversary. They opened the doors about 10 minutes late, we were the first to be seated. We had to wait over 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order, then we had to wait another 15 minutes before anyone took our food order. No one came in between to see how we were doing if we needed a drink refill... The kitchen staff were on the ball with getting dishes out quickly, they got us our meals in a very speedy manner, but the servers didn't seem too concerned to get our food to us as soon as they kitchen rang the bell. We ate and our plates were cleared from the table right away, and that is were the speediness died. We waited over 15 minutes for our bill. So all in all we waited longer for service than it took to cook and eat our food. When I booked the table I had put that it was our anniversary, and most restaurants make a point to acknowledge a special occasion, but not this restaurant. I was highly irritated with the whole service, minus the kitchen who prepared 2 great dishes. Sadly we still have money left on the gift card and I can't bring myself to want to go back.
