The atmosphere was perfect for a post valentines date. Cocktails were fun to try and made to perfection. I had the malt shop and it was divine. Food was elegant with adequate portion sizes ! We were obsessed!
Excellent service and food. Just wished we could have stayed longer
Excellent food with good size portions and great cocktails
I found the prices a bit on the high side. When we were finished dinner three of four of us had leftovers we wanted to take home but only two of us got the doggy bag. When asked the waiter said he didn't hear the request and discarded half the lamb shank! Very disappointing!
Excellent food and service. The wines were a bit overpriced
Want to begin by saying that the food and the service were fabulous. I should then repeat that the the food and the service were fabulous. This will allow me to raise my two concerns. While the curved tables and benches on the ends of open-style rows are both cosy and roomy, those of us with regular little rectangular tables were squeezed a little. It's a problem in winter with no real, secure coat-check. That's a quibble. The concern that really is a problem is the lack of hot beverages after the meal. No tea or coffee. I know that there is a long-term plumbing issue, and I know that boutique beverages are on brand and on vibe, but for all that is good and holy please get a drip coffee pot as a temporary measure. Why would I spend $25 on desserts just to have to consume them with water? And as a business owner looking for places for post-interview dinners, I could never recommend taking people out without being able to finish a meal and conversation with anything other than hooch. I am sorry. For 80 of my 90 minutes, I thought I had my new favourite restaurant. Make a game of it: steep your own teabag with tapwater; bring your own keurig pod. But please solve this problem. The food and the service are too good to be undone by a problem with a minor but essential part of the dining experience.
Great dining made with care. Excellent cocktail menu. And overall nice vibe.
Service was excellent... as always, the food was very good. The cocktails were delicious...fun and inspired.
Restaurant was very good, food was very tasty and good size portion. The only issue I have is that it was a bit loud. Not a lot of range when it comes to the menu.
Server seemed to take a while to even acknowledge us as we sat for a while. Food was creative and was good for sharing. Cocktails were worth the value.
Wonderful food - loved the brussel sprout dish. Filling meals. Very full of action and therefore quite noisy, but the atmosphere was fun. The craft beer on tap was quite good.
Service was exceptional. Food was way overpriced and mediocre. Drinks were expensive but unique and exotic. That being said, I basically paid $14 for a glassful of ice. I think this restaurant is trendy but likely won’t last.
Wonderful meal and service. Our server was great with recommendations with both cocktails and food!
Great food. Great drinks. The wood smell is delightful. We will be back 😁
Woodwork is very on-trend with its craft cocktails and of-the-moment menu. The wine list is good but not what I would call value-driven. It is very popular. Every time I have been, it has been loud. Its very close-together tables have been crowded. The servers visited us, but not that often. The food was very good. For three people, dinner cost $220 - and two of us had only appetizers - not mains. I think it is time for me to let the rest of Edmonton take its turn to experience this very popular restaurant.
Stupidly noisy. Walls waaay too dark..c'mon use some muted colour but not an abyss. Booths comfy. Bar visually impressive. Waitress great. Most dishes mediocre. Can't anyone have a menu sans kale? Do you have to absolutely CHAR the brussels sprouts which is carcinogenic? Fennel sausage dish excellent. You need a tad more tweeking and you will be there. Need more bread and butter on the table for hungry late nighters. And salt and pepper why not. Frites absolutely boring bland. Belgravia Hub frites WIN.
Cocktail list great. Need list of your availabe spirits.
Great location downtown, within short walking distance to the Citadel, Winspear and not too far from the arena and from all central hotels. Friendly, attentive and professional service as well as a great menu. Amazing cocktails and great choices of wine by the glass. Uptown atmosphere at its best.
Extensive spirits selection. Thorough understanding of ingredients. Best cocktails in Edmonton.
Ordered the slow cook prime rib and it was cold they were very apologetic which we thought they would give us a new meal but they warmed up the meat and it was them well done so dry you could hardly swallow it. Not a very good experience as this was our first time there from out of town and was highly recommended would try other restaurants before going back
My partner and I had an okay time here. It was too loud for us to talk and the food was over-seasoned for our tastes. However, the desert and cocktails were excellent and the servers were competent.
The cocktail I was served was not drinkable because of a huge piece of ice. The lamb shank was not hot and had to be sent back . It was a poor choice.
I’ve been several times, love this place. My date had never been, it was her birthday. We had a great time.
Appetizers and entrees were excellent as always. Only complaint is that our table was by the front door, so we got a cold breeze every time someone entered or left the restaurant. It would be great if they reconfigured the curtains by the door or looked into something else to redirect or contain the air currents away from main room. However, food and service were great, and would certainly recommend.
The food was DELICIOUS. All caps, seriously. I can't remember the last time I really felt that about a restaurant. The service was great.
The only negative, a thing that I 'felt,' was an aloofness from the staff, from the host to our server. And damn it, maybe it's an age-ism thing, my guest and I are over 50...
I'll be going back anyway.
Recently had dinner there and the place was brutally cold. They do not have a double door (or double curtain) at the front entrance so every time the front door opens, a rush of cold air enters. Even though we were far from the door and near the kitchen our group was freezing cold. We actually wrapped up the meal early and went to have cocktails elsewhere. Pretty sad that a place in a winter climate can not anticipate cold weather. We have been there prior and had a similar issue - just not as bad as the weather was not as cold. Guess this will be a May to September place to eat! Too bad. A simply double curtain would probably do the trick. Everything else was actually very good.
We both are gin drinkers and asked the bartender to create a couple of different drinks with an herbal twist and he didn’t disappoint. They were excellent. Will be back!
Had empty wine glasses a few times, and long wait between courses.
Been to better places that had more value/ quality food for cost. Ie. Bridgette Bar or mercato in Calgary.
Food and portions were great. Disappointed there was no chicken on the menu and only option was to go vegetarian. But the rest of my group loved the lamb.
Haven't been at Woodworks for a while, and we were quite disappointed. The cocktails (which are typically very creative and delicious) were weak/watered down; the kale salad was a far distant second to their brassica salad (which is still noted on their on-line menu); our lobster entree came out raw/cold (although the accompanying veggies were very tasty). Our server was absolutely wonderful: she was knowledgeable about the cocktails and food offerings, and made recommendations for both- she was the highlight of our dining experience. Not sure if we will be returning anytime soon....
I was really disappointed with Woodwork. The mussels were not cleaned properly, the salad was overbearing and tough (Kale), and the drinks were expensive. Sorry, would not go back.
