Woodman Lodge Ratings and Reviews
Sadly, This was our third and last visit at a restaurant that is a few miles from our home. Nothing went well this time, as the previous 2 times. The first thing that came was our cold entries. Then the warm white wine. Then salads after one of us ordered soup and the restaurant ran out of soup. We made reservations for Thanksgiving a month in advance specifying one guest to be dairy free. I understand holiday meals with food allergies sometimes require substitutions at extra cost. There’s was no offer of substitution, so one meal was less than 50% of the food and the same price with no offered substitution. One of us finished dinner at home after spending $75 on a meal at a fine dining establishment. Poor service, poor food, and poor handling of diners.
I had heard great things and so was very surprised at the Thanksgiving dinner we were served. We all had prime rib which was good. The ice cream scoop shaped mash potatoes were cold in center. Stuffing scoop was too mushy. 4 asparagus stalks for vegetables. Plate was hot so the cranberry sauce was melting through rest of food.
It was not the menu that was online, when I searched....which had lots more choices. There was apple pie and pumpkin pie as dessert choices. Soup or salad for starter.
We ordered a certain wine. We did not pay attention when he brought it. Turned out to be $20 more than one we ordered.
During middle of dinner, a bus boy went by and said..."oh, you did not get your bread" . By then we did not need it.
it was okay but not a $58 per person meal.
Another couple leaving when we did, loudly exclaimed it was worst Thanksgiving food they ever had
Thank you Opentable for the last minute Thanksgiving dinner suggestion in my email.
We drove up to Snoqualmie and had a blast! This was the most perfect way to celebrate thanksgiving with friends. The food was delicious, the service was awesome, the decor was cozy. Would do it again in a heartbeat!
I discovered the Woodsman during an internet search of the area. My husband and I were spending a vacation in the area and we were so lucky to find this gem of a restaurant. I enjoyed the atmosphere it felt like we had discovered a real local favorite. We had steak for dinner generously portioned and a luscious chocolate chip cookie baked in a skillet with vanilla ice-cream.
Great and varied menu, nice atmosphere. Service has ranged from five to eight out of ten. Food typically very good. Sometimes it seems you just get ignored for too long waiting for a check or dessert menu. Also, maybe just me, but the little round-handled forks and spoons drive me nuts. Hard to handle. There’s a reason it’s called flatware! But we’ll be back.
My wife and I were going to the casino and wanted to have dinner. I got the baby back ribs and my wife got prime rib. My ribs were only so-so with a mediocre very sweet BBQ sauce not to my preference. My wife's prime rib was reported to be very good. Both of us enjoyed our roasted vegetables. Service was very good. Ambience is old school wood cabin with stuffed critters on the wall and or skins.
Great food! The steaks are truly amazing if cooked as you request. The scallops are cooked perfectly and the cioppino is flavorful and spicy! The chili is a hearty substitute if you would like a less expensive dinner. The cocktails are creative and potent as well. For dessert, try the molten chocolate cake or the 6" hot fudge sundae- definitely enough for 3! The most recent night we dined there one server was manning the entire restaurant. Not sure who called in sick but service was incredibly slow- frustrating -but the food made up for it! Great find in the heart of Snoqualmie!
This was a surprise. Once you get past the stuffed animals on the walls...lodge style not kid toys...you can appreciate this place. Lovely tin roof (which blocks cell reception) and old fashioned bar. The food is good and basic. Definitely a fun place to meet friends after work.
Was recommended to visit Woodman Lodge by the Salish Lodge hotel. Booked through Open Table.
Starter had Coconut Tiger Prawns - deep fried for way too long - dry and tasteless.
Mains we had burgers which were ok but nothing special. Lacking an imaginative sauce/dressing, only served with ketchup. The fries were nice though.
Perhaps we should have had the steak but at $50-60 each we didn't trust it would be good enough.
Generally we thought this restaurant was way over priced for what is a very average American grill.
Afterwards OpenTable received a report that we hadn't turned up. Disappointing!
Let me start saying my wife and I had a great 20 th anaversay dinner, service was professional as should be. We had the flet' s and they were outstanding. Robert, the exec. Chef came by and spent more time with us then expected, we will be going back every chance possible.
THe Woodman is known for it's fine food and there is obviously a reason for that. Not only is it excellent in taste, it is excellent in variety.. Moose-ka-bobs anyone? I really like a good Mojito and theiers are the BEST. Their steak is really good and it is what I order most often. The serice was a bit slow Thursdaybut they weerereally corowed for a Thursday . The drinks were slow in coming, again I guess to a lot of patrons that evening.
Great food. Steaks were a bit small this time. Awesome atmosphere... They added a self playing piano... Fun! Service was not great this time. We had to ask for service after we were seated. Waiter hadn't memorized his liquor options, which is a problem if you don't have it anywhere on your menu. Appetizers were awesome by the way. Overall good experience but have had better dinners there... Bit too bad as these is/was or favorite restaurant.
