food was very good, the service outstanding! the elk tartare was a highlight
The food was excellent and the wine we had was very good. Our waiter however was flat in tone with us and never offered to pour our wine the rest of the night other than when we had the original taste test at the beginning. Other than that, everything was amazing.
The night started out with an inexperienced front of the house with the greeting and seating staff. They were young, flustered and inexperienced. We changed our reservation to be 30 mins later since we had hit traffic from Seattle. We got there at the original reservation time. Even though the table we eventually sat at was available the whole time we stood there, they didn't see us until 10 mins after our new reservation. (waiting 40 mins)
We ordered the Wagyu sirloin w/fully loaded bake potatoes and fried Brussel sprouts. First, the steak meat didn't taste like Wagyu. There was barely any marbling, caramelization or flavor. The steak was burnt/charred on the outside, the demi-glaze that was smeared on it didn't help, and the steak was not seasoned at all. I had to put salt/pepper on every cut of the steak. The baked potato was supposed to be fully loaded. It was a large potato, but it came to the table super dry on the inside. There was barely any butter, sour cream or bacon, nor was there any seasoning on the thing. I have had gloriously fried, and delicious, Brussel sprouts before. These were not it. The Brussel sprouts were greasy and over-fried, with little to no caramelization or taste. I forgot to mention our waiter. Wow! He was super awkward. Within 10 seconds of sitting down, he was trying to get us to choose drinks from the bar. We asked for more time, he came back 30 seconds later. My partner didn't know what he wanted and asked for more time, the waiter just stood there awkwardly waiting. My partner took an extra 5 mins because it was super weird. He just stood there staring! What the heck?! Every time I come back to this place, there is a new staff, and something else is wrong with it. I spent $200 on a meal I could have paid $100 less and felt more satisfied by going to other places in the area. Like at Salish around the corner. Really disappointed in the Staff and the food.
We were there for dinner on a busy Saturday night. Husband got Prime Rib, and I had the Salmon special. Both were very good. Service was good and friendly. The décor of the place is unique and interesting. It is a bit noisy but not too bad. We live in the area and had not been there in maybe 5 years due to poor previous experiences - so we were pleasantly surprised this visit that the service, food and overall value was much better.
The drinks are great, the brussel sprouts are very good, but the ambiance is why you go to the restaurant. A beautifully restored century old building. Fortunately there's plenty to look at while you wait a loooong time for your food.
A hidden gem. One of my favorite spots! The food is top notch.
Great restaurant for a decent price. Food was excellent.
Our Valentines family dinner was wonderful. Loved the balloons and roses. Food and wine and service was amazing as always!
Had a wonderful Valentines Day experience at Woodmans Lodge. Was disappointed in Open Table as I made reservations 2 weeks in advance and the app said The earliest we could get reservations was 4:15pm. A little early but hey it was Valentine’s Day. When we arrived we were immediately seated and there were only 3-4 couples dining. By 5:15pm they were only 40% filled. I wish I could have received better information from Open Table so that I could have managed my day better and received a reservation around 6pm instead of 90 minutes earlier.
As always, The Woodman Lodge is an amazing restaurant. The food, service, and ambiance is always consistently wonderful.
Our server Patrick did an excellent job & all the staff treated us like we were vip’s. Well done!
Our waitress mentioned a new chef took over - steak first came out over cooked majorly - then came back extremely raw - I didn’t eat....same w dessert, was either raw or burnt
No hostess was there for over five minutes after walked in. Waited at bar until table was ready and was not even acknowledged but with a head node. Sat before bartender asked us about drinks. Server was attentive and had a good knowledge of menu. Got a martini which has very icy but ok. Wedge salad came and was just ok. Lamb shank was good but a little dry. Steak had to be sent back as it was blu but ordered medium. Mash potatoes tasted like instant and watery. This seems crazy to me. The Atmosphere is great. But wow I was so unimpressed with quality of food. It did come fast. I really wanted to enjoy it but sad the costs are very high for quality.
We love the Woodman. We always make a reservation which makes things so easy. The staff are so amazing that they even remember our likes/dislikes. This time, they had our favorite bottle of wine sitting at the table for us when we arrived. Great food, great service.
Nestled in the heart of ol' Snoqualmie town is a wonderful steak house. The steak dinner/dessert would rival Seattle steak houses, the ambience with the elegant antique bar and wait staff dressed for the time, as well as their friendliness and attentive service produced a perfect evening. Definitely a restaurant to add to your must go to list.
We live in the area and have been to Woodman lodge many times. However, last time we were there was incredibly disappointing. Not only did the food not taste good but they tried to charge us $40 for a Ceaser Wedge salad with Salmon on top. Their reasoning was that the salmon entree is $32 and the additional $8 was for the salad ....which find whatever but when you think about it, $40 for a salmon ceaser salad is ridiculous! I mean if it were amazingly prepared then I’d pay that but it was below average at best. Anyway, just a heads up for those looking to go for amazing food you won’t get it here and for the below average food that you’ll get just know you’ll pay top dollar for it so mineaswell go somewhere we’re it’s worth it.
It was a great meal with great service
Always love coming back to the Woodman. Our four grown sons love having the ribs & cocktails for family get-togethers!
Outstanding meal and service. Expensive but overall a great experience.
This place is a gem. Never knew it was tucked away there. Very happy we chose to eat here. We will be back.
One of the better steaks I have had on the Eastside.
I have eaten at the woodman several times and continues to deliver.
They have great food and service was excellent.
It was New Year's Even, not really a to dine out, and the experience overall was not totally negative. The service was excellent, but the food was mediocre. My steak was tough, grisly and fat without much taste. My wife's pork chop was alright, but when it came, her meal didn't include the potato selection she ordered. I wouldn't tell anyone not to go there, but we probably won't go back for dinner. One of these days, though, we will most likely try their lunch.
The food rating I gave was based on the fact that one of the two steaks ordered was under cooked to the rare side and ordered to be medium. The Lamb shank was salty. The noise level was high but it was New Years Eve and not an issue for us. Overall we enjoyed the restaurant.
Dinner was amazing. Good wine. Great service. Highly recommend
We always enjoy our meal and our experience at Woodman Lodge. Great food! Love the ambience!
Wonderful, just what we wanted.
Only disappointment was the on line menu and the actual menu we not the same, they no longer have mussels which was what my husband was wanting...
I had the chicken with wild rice soup as my starter and the sea bass, while my wife had the wedge salad and a steak. Everything was delicious! Service was also good, although the place wasn't terribly busy when we were there, which helped. Music was a bit loud and we had to ask to have it turned down a little so that we could actually have a conversation without shouting. They accommodated the request, which was great. Very positive experience.
Delicious meal that was worth the wait from the kitchen
As always, the Woodman Lodge was great. You really can't go wrong with any of the food and the service as fantastic! We were celebrating two birthdays and they were kind enough to force a dessert upon us, so no complaints here!
All you can eat rib night is a great value.
Had a great time with the family on all you can eat rib night. Food was good, service was ok and we had a good time.
I would recommend the Woodman to adults, sadly it seems to be a place that no longer welcomes kids, no kid's menu, etc. We have long celebrated birthdays here and in the last year they have recently changed their welcoming of children with limited kid offerings and the ambiance seems to be pushing towards adults only, sad...Also, the steak i had was undercooked, i aske for it to be fixed, they cooked it more which blackened the outside even more, not what i was looking for...so i am not sure if I would recommend the Woodman as much as I would have a year or so ago...
I was disappointed in the fixed menu. For $52 it should have included dessert. I also thought the sides were very small for the price which was extra. I felt the food wasn’t as good as it usually is.
Great service and environment and was thankful they were open and available to serve my family.
Great place for Thanksgiving , Service excellent. Will be going back.
Another wonderful Thanksgiving dinner and the food is just amazing.
Definitely will make the 45 minute drive for dinner again!
Patrick was our server and he was great. The food was unbelievably good but he made the experience so much better than just good food. We will be back and i will recommend this restaurant to everyone. Well done.
