I’ve been here several times and this last visit we got their special. A lobster tail. Thinking it was traditional, we got it. The tail had a glaze on it that just ruined the lobster. We did let our waiter know and that we didn’t expect anything in return, but I’d advise folks to double check how their food is prepared. Having just a lobster tail with drawn butter would have been perfect.
Was a very good experience til a big group of drunks sat next to us and ruined the mood, noise level was very loud, felt like a bar upstrairs. Other than that it was quite pleasant
As always, everything was excellent. Jesse is an excellent waiter, and a pleasure to work with.
Been to Woodman lodge before and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere, but today was a different story.....We arrived early for our reservation and sat in the bar for a drink before we were seated. All the servers and bartender were great but I ordered a shot of whiskey that was supposed to be $21 and was charged $27....add that with one martini and it was over $50 for 2 drinks. Once we sat at our table we were informed they only had a basic 4course meal for Valentine’s Day which was $85 a person! There was no mention of the limited menu when making our reservation. They were out of the appetizers and had nothing to offer except doubling your starter choice. We opted to not get the double portion of salad or buffalo shrimp. There was only a couple choices from each course and they weren’t that great. I had the buffalo shrimp starter... it literally was 2 small shrimp and two cheese puffs, what a joke. For the entree my date had the filet, which was good but came with 3 asparagus. I had the lobster which was very small and cold with a small scoop of potatoes. The dessert portion was also sad, extremely small and not great. For a $180 dollar meal this was by far one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. I will definitely think twice before going back or recommending Woodman lodge to anyone ever again. For these prices there is way to many better options to go to then pay for sub-par food. I doubt I will ever go there again, which is sad because I use to enjoy this place.
Outstanding all around best food and best service! Our waiter Doug was professional, kind, and best server all around! Will absolutely be going back!
Poor service on Valentine's day when you know you're going to be busy. Food portions were small and left still hungry for a "special " Valentine's day menu. They were out of food on the "special " menu. When food arrived, it was cold. Very slow bringing out courses. All that for 300 bucks for two person meal. Very, very disappointing.
Valentine's day dinner was too expensive for the amount of food.
My wife and I truly enjoyed our Valentine's dinner. The menu was fabulous and every one of the four courses we choose were fantastic. That tomato soup, DELICIOUS! We were impressed with the service, the food and the atmosphere. This will become our annual dinner!
A real gem on the eastside
Food is good, prices a bit high but worth it. Been to the Woodman twice. First time our server was a jerk and basically asked us to finish up so he can seat another reservation. Our server this time was nice, not pushy and very playful! Glad I gave this restaurant another chance after the horrible first experience.
Best cocktails in the valley! Every time we make it in food and service are always on point!
Fine dining Steak House in historical building.
Easy drive. Seafood options available as well as poultry vegetarian and salads.
Loved the artichoke appetizer and large bottled wine selection.
The food was amazing and the service was spectacular! We were very lucky to eat here for our honeymoon and were even treated to a delicious dessert.
Great bar and friendly bartenders!Had slow food service. Forgot our appetizer. Pork Chop was extremely fatty... very little meat.Overall... not a good experience.
I made reservations online. We were a few minutes early, so we were asked to wait in the bar. We had not finished our glass of wine yet when 3 different hostesses came to tell us our table was ready and they were very adamant that we cash out at the bar first...which is pretty unprofessional for a nice restaurant when the bar is in the same space as the tables. Took forever to get the bartenders attention to pay the bill. Meanwhile hostesses kept coming over to tell us to tab out..We were seated at a miniscule table, the size of small writing desk, with a narrow space and another table on either side. We ordered the artichoke as an appetizer which we could not finish as there literally was not enough room on the table when our main dishes arrived. If you are going to use gigantic plates then you should not have tables so small that two entrees do not leave enough room for one appetizer. I asked for a condiment, which was not brought until my meal was basically finished. The waiter had to wedge himself between our table and the next one to take a party of six's order, which meant his backside was basically over our table for a good 5 minutes. Overall a very mediocre experience for an expensive meal. The food was good but not exceptional.
I always have a great time at woodman. The food is great and the service was excellent.
We really enjoyed our night there.
Great food and exceptional service from our waiter, Patrick. We will be back! Thank you!
We made dinner reservations early and it worked out perfectly. Many times we get there too late and they're closing. We enjoyed our waiter, the food and drinks. Of course, we love the atmosphere and steaks are always delicious. Had a very nice relaxing and enjoyable evening!
Great atmosphere. Great cocktails. Mediocre food for the price. I came to the Snoqualmie area from Oakland, CA to nerd out on the Twin Peaks locales for my 40th birthday extravaganza. Decided to hit up Woodman for my official birthday dinner because of the great reviews, and because it WASN'T a Twin Peaks location (but looked like it could be). It had an old-timey workman's lodge vibe, with taxidermy on the walls, but it had major-metropolitan prices. That being the case in a small town, I expected to be blown away by the food, but I just wasn't--I've cooked better food at home.
Tuesday is "all-you-can-eat ribs" night. For less than the usual entrée price on other days, you get two sides and as many half-racks of barbecued pork ribs that you can eat. I was told there are people that make it through eight half-racks, though we did not get close to that. Arrive early (they open at 4:00 PM) or make a reservation, as it started to get busy after 5:00 PM.
Beyond the logistics, the food and service is good. Beyond rib night, prices are close to what you would see at other higher-end steakhouses.
Bartender was condescending and waitress never checked on us until we flagged her down to pay. Food is very good but only hostess at door was polite. Sad because I have been there in the past and it wasn’t ever like that. Used to work in food service myself so i understand being busy, just don’t understand the rudeness of the bartender.
Giving two stars hopefully it’ll go back to being a calmer more welcoming restaurant.
I was referred to this restaurant for the excellent food, ambiance, and the wait staff. It was all the above. Thank you!
First time ever at Woodman Lodge. I’d highly recommend it. Great steak and Salmon too.
Everything about Woodman was amazing!
The decor was incredible, gas lamps on the walls, trophy heads and pelts, an amazing wood trimmed bar. It was like eating in an upscale hunting lodge.
I loved the buffalo chili and the blue cheese wedge salad somehow had a smoky flavor. The baked beans were incredible, ribs were great and falling off the bone, and the half rack was more than enough.
The service was attentive and polite and the three of us were raving about the experience all the way home.
One of our favorite places! Cozy lodge experience. Great service and steak.
We love going to Woodman Lodge however this was our first time sitting upstairs which I wouldn’t recommend. It could have just been the night but it felt like the section where anyone with kids was out. It was loud and it wasn’t our normal experience. Still love this place but will request to sit downstairs from now on.
Loved the authentic atmosphere, great service, and expertly prepared food. However, there is a big difference in decor between the upstairs and downstairs seating areas. As it was our first time visiting the restaurant, we were very excited about experiencing the authentic decor. It is unfortunate that you cannot request and expect to be able to be seated in the area of your choosing when making reservations, as there were many families with noisy children seated in the upstairs area.
Excellent service! Great food!
40 minute wait (with children) for a confirmed reservation. The front of house was run by very young confused people taking their lead from a similarly confused woman working a computerized reservation system. Our reservation was for 5:45 and they were already in the weeds. This set a very poor beginning for what should have been a seamless dinner.
We were finally seated by 6:25. Our waiter was experienced and polite and did a fine job in contrast to the front of house circus. It certainly wasn’t his fault with the way we started out and although the evening was less than perfect I left him a 20% tip.
The food was not memorable. Baked potatoes held too long and were starchy. Steak was adequate. We ordered a piece of cheesecake to go. $12 and again not good went uneaten.
Pretty sad experience. We won’t be back. A lost opportunity for Woodman Lodge.
A disappointing visit. Haven't been there in about a year. Excited for the Christmas Eve service. They weren't making the Prime Rib Dip despite it being on the menu. The server said menu items were gluten free and didn't offer to check with the kitchen. Even the usually reliable hot fudge sundae with candied pecans was subpar. The pecans weren't candied! Maybe our expectations were just high since we hadn't been there in a while and it was a favorite when we lived in town.
Took my family here for our Christmas dinner. We were seated upstairs next to an enormous grizzly bear on display. I couldn’t take my eyes off of the filthy walls; I felt like we were in the “overflow” area. The ambience was dark and sparse. Two of my family didn’t get the prime rib dinner they were expecting, because, as it was explained to me, the prime rib is cooked Friday and has to last all weekend, so if they run out, then too bad. We were there Sunday evening, no old cooked prime rib to salvage and apparently we’re not important enough for the chef to have more ready for Christmas dinners, 2 days before Christmas. My order of ciopinio was horrible, all the fish over cooked and unappealing. The main entrees include NO SIDE DISHES, just the chunk of meat, even their hamburger was just a patty on a bun. Not one of us was satisfied with our meal
Total for 5 with a toddler and 3 people who had a glass of wine with dinner was $265. A huge disappointment for me as a $265 dinner should wow us in some way.
We enjoy the Woodman for it's local historical value and exceptional cuisine.
Ambiance was nice. Service was good. However, the food for the price was sub-par. My mashed potatoes were cold. When I asked that they be warmed, I was given more potatoes that were just a bit warmer than the originals. I did not finish my steak. It was not very good. Also, my wife’s Sea bass tasted funny and she had an upset stomach after her meal. Our starter salads were delicious. The flourless cake, was dry. In short, it seems as though the quality of food has decreased. Can’t say that we will return, being that there are several restaurants closer to our home that offer far superior food with just as nice and/or better ambiance and service.
Customer service was spot on. The only disappointment was the appraiser. 12$ for 8 tiny bites of sweetened, over cooked steak is not worth it. Otherwise the prime rib was delicious and servers were very attentive and friendly.
Always look forward to dinner here! One of our favorite all time restaurants!
The Flat iron 9oz I had was cooked perfectly. The Bartender was great as well, drinks were consistent. The staff was really busy and handled everything very well.
Great for dude’s night
I would recommend with a few reservations as we have had better experiences in the past!
Ordered cocktails and an appetizer. Beef Tips were good...
Bar was out of Jack Daniel's for 2nd round of deinks
Had to ask for water for the table
For an expensive meal plating of food did nothing to enhance the meal
Brought desert menu before all were done with their meal
Special noted on menu did not match the real special on the board
A plate of ribs brought to our table in error
A minute later they can and got them back and served them to the correct table.
Felt rushed to leave as waiter seemed to be closing up around tables near us an hour before closing.
That said, the meal was tasty but in my opinion it just seemed like the place was running on automatic pilot.
Our go to for special occasions or entertaining out of town friends or family. The ambiance is unique and the steaks are outstanding!
Best restaurant I have ever been to, best food quality, every was amazing!
