Deep within a major boulevard, tucked under the cosmopolitan venues of Brooklyn brownstones, dances in our thoughts a familiar character that we can all relate to. He is juggling his light-hearted smile with a goblet in one hand, pipe in the other; the promise of your good time sparkling in his eyes. He is our Satyr, and meant to remind all that enter our door, that the Woodland still exists, along with its fun, flavor, and song.

Woodland Ratings and Reviews
Sat at the bar for Happy Hour and the cocktails were very good and well priced for Happy Hour.
We had dinner reservations and our meal was very nicely prepared and the salmon was excellent. There was a nice wine selection.
The ribs as an appetizer were excellent. Would definitely go back!
Food and service was excellent but the noise level was off the hook even though the place wasn't crowded. In addition, the music was blasting way too loud. I can't imagine who thought it would be a good idea to crank up the volume in the dining room as though it was the club downstairs. you couldn't hear one another speak unless you screamed at the top of your lungs like the small group of adolescents seated near the front door. Also on one of the hottest days of summer the beer wasn't cold. That is unforgivable.
great place for a fun night out w/friends. It was crowded & the music was great but a little too loud. Had the salmon burger w/onion rings. It was delicious with the spicy mustard. The jerk chicken wings were great as well. Ordered an apple martini. It was ok but sour. I highly recommend Woodland for the ambiance
Service was abysmal. We had a concert to go to at the Barclay Center and while not late, we got there without a second to spare. Server told us kitchen was backed up because of large amount of diners. But they should have known by the reservations they had.
Never have I experienced such a horrible dining experience. We ordered our food and after 1 hour and 40 minutes it never came. The waitress kept saying it would be soon. We only ordered burgers. We left as well as other customers who waited the same about of time as we did; they were told they ran out of chicken after waiting an hour and one-half. Not even a complimentary beverage or sorry for the inconvenience but quick to get out check for the beverage order!!!!
Ignore the ratings and read the reviews. The noise level is highest of any restaurant I've ever been in. Think euro club at 3 am. The room is attractive and staff efficient and friendly. But the food was terrible Tomato and burrata had a thin sauce? Maybe citrus ? that overwhelmed all other flavor. And how do you ruin plain chicken? Massive amounts of salt. And the topper. We were two tables from bar but frequent strong odor of bleach flowed across our table. A terrible overall experience.
The spot was very nice and I had a good time. The two complaints I have was that the music was way to loud. We had to yell at each other to converse with one another. It was not a night club, so I did not expect the music to be so loud that you can't keep a conversation. The second complaint is being charged to check out the downstairs level. After spending $300 on dinner and drinks I would think that going to the club level would be a courtesy. I can understand if it was a private party, then no. But it was not.
It was my first time visiting here and I have nothing but exceptional things to say. First, the service was absolutely outstanding. It is very rare that I can say the hostess, server, and busboy all went above and beyond to make my experience that much greater. Next, the atmosphere was awesome, great decorations and really set a good tone. The server helped me select all my food - and she was spot on. The Mac and Cheese, Woodland Burger, and Salmon were delicious (and I don't even like seafood!). They accommodated my party since we were rushing to get to an Islanders game, so I can't wait to go back again and get dessert.
Woodland was a terrific experience. I brought my wife for her birthday before the Madonna concert.
Since we live in Park Slope this was an easy ten minute walk. We have always wanted to try the restaurant as we often drive past or walk by on our way to work. The decor, lighting and layout are relaxing but inviting. We were unaware that the restaurant had an outdoor eating area in the backyard.
As the host brought us to our table outside we were pleasantly surprised by location and mood. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable and we did not wait very long for drinks or food. The menu offers a nice mix of fish, meat or other options. My wife had a burger and it was cooked properly. The truffle-infused french fries were fantastic - no other ketchup or sauce was needed.
It's a shame because the interior was nice, great location, decent food...but impossible to enjoy a meal with a friend. The music was ridiculously loud, to the point where my table was vibrating and I had to ask to move my table, which didn't really help. It is advertised as a restaurant with a bar online, not as a club. PLEASE TURN DOWN THE MUSIC A FEW NOTCHES!! And our waiter was awkward to say the least.
Busy night as Bette Midler was performing at Barclays. Restaurant was packed with concert goers although I'm sure that is common place on a show night. Staff accommodated us arriving 20 min. early but that's the last good thing that happened. Waitress was polite but had to be reminded to bring my drink. We placed our rather simple order immediately and let waitress know we were going to the show but food didn't arrive until we had only 10 min to wolf it down. Numerous patrons were complaining about the delayed food delivery. Some were flat out irate and threatening to leave. Many had only ordered burgers but still had to wait over an hour before the food arrived. We saw at least two groups cancel their order to get up and leave. Also saw numerous patrons complain to the manager but she just didn't seem to get why people were upset and walking out, even after they inquired about when their meal was coming two or three times. Hint: the kitchen staff was poorly managed as food orders only trickled out to the floor. For whatever reason they couldn't keep up with what would have been a very manageable crowd for any other establishment. Patrons were then given lame excuses by the manager. I'm sure this place relies heavily on Barclay's events to stay profitable but if this evening was an indicator of typical service they are in big trouble!! People will not wait around forever for a pre show bite to eat, especially if it means being late to the show!! Overall this is a very poorly managed establishment!!! Advice: Stay away unless you have all night to spend at a restaurant.
While they advertise as a great place to go before an event at the Barclays Center (and they are close in proximity), we were one of at least 10 tables that was disappointed by the lack of attentive service and delays in getting food to us. Aside from not ever getting our drinks, we witnessed two other tables (who arrived before us) get up and leave prior to their food arriving because there simply was no time left to eat it before the show (we arrived 90 mins before showtime)
The food was good in the end, but not worth the stress of waiting to see if it would come to us in time
Close to BAM, but don't expect to get out of there in time for your show. We ordered drinks waited an hour. Then someone came over and told us they were out of an ingredient of the drink we ordered. Waitress came back and said the bar was still working on our order. We informed her they were not and ordered red wine. She came back ( 10 min) later with the drink menu. We reminded her we had ordered red wine. She came with ... White wine. And charged us for the more expensive original drinks. Appetizers came out quickly, but had to go track a manager down to get our entree. The food itself was good ( not great).
I was very sad to come here on a Tuesday at 10 pm . I came after my college graduation at the Barclay's center. I didn't get a congrats from the waitress. She messed up 3 times on my mothers drink order. I don't blame her for how slow she was moving because she had a big party and 7 other tables. She was new and she needed help and no one wanted to help her. This place needs team work. I saw other workers on their phone while the new waitress struggled. The food is great though. My family loved the food, I was happy they got one thing right. We recommend the woodland wings chipotle bbq, the Mac and cheese, the shrimp scampi, the salmon burger with sweet potato fries, the steak and mashed potatoes, and the chicken and waffles.
I've been to Woodlands before and always had great service. This time not so much. The thing is she wasn't rude she was just like a robot. She was no friendly, didn't check back with us too see if we needed anything we had to seek her out. Just very "uninviting". When you fine someplace outside of the food you want to feel welcome and provide a relaxing customer experience out service was lackluster. Luckily the hostess made up for all of this! She on the other hand was inviting, jovial, and very accommodating. I'll be back but avoiding that other waitress.
