We have dined here multiple times when we visit the Casino. The food is always quite tasty! Staff is pleasant, professional and attentive. Will enjoy another meal/reservation again soon.
Awesome as always. Staff was terrific. Jonha our waitress was AMAZING.
We have been here several times , the food is always good with good portions. The staff is friendly and sometimes a little on the slow side but overall real good place.
Ben is the best server ever. We will request him on our next visit.
The Woodfire Grille never disappoints us. The staff is as amazing as the food! We usually order steaks & they are cooked exactly how we order them. If you have never tried their ice cream, I suggest that you do so. The Chef makes it in-house. What a treat!
I've been here several times and it's been great. This time, however, not so great. The service was somewhat slow, but that can happen from time to time, so no big deal on that. What really bothered me was the manager (or at least I thought he was the manager). Our party consisted of two couples and about halfway through the meal, he came over and asked how we were doing and if our meals were to our liking. We all said yes and he said he would like to buy us dessert. We all thought that was very nice of him. Each couple ordered 1 dessert to share between the two and when our bills came, he removed the dessert from our friends bill, but charged us for ours. Not that the price of the desert was out of line, but as a manager, if you tell the table that you will but their dessert, make sure it happens. We did not bring this to the attention of the manager because we didn't want to cause a scene, but we thought it was in bad form to make an offer and not follow through. That said, we will go back because the food is very good.
Our trip to the Wood Fire Grill seemed different from the moment we stepped inside. We were greeted warmly even though we were about 5 to 10 minutes early. When I made the reservation I had requested a booth and the hostess had already made note of that and took us directly to a booth. Our waiter was an absolute gem, he introduced himself and his trainee to us. Ben is the ultimate server, he seems to have a sixth sense about his customers and Rick and I felt like royalty from the moment we sat down to when we left the restaurant after lingering briefly just to absorb a little more of the excellent treatment. The food we ordered was superb, prepared perfectly and served with a flourish. An added bonus was we got to meet the Executive Chef and had a delightful conversation.
We always love the Woodfire Grille! Food, service and ambience is impeccable.
The food is outstanding, drinks are outstanding, and the service is outstanding. It’s me and my wife’s spot for all of our special occasions
We are always impressed with the quality of food and the professional treatment of the waitstaff. Our decision to eat at the Wood Fire Grill was last minute, we were pleased to be able to get a reservation.
Food was delicious, our entrees were great. We ordered the Mac and cheese and mushrooms as sides and they were a good value for the portions we received. However we only received three shrimp for the appetizer and it was $12. That was very steep, they could have at least done four so it could have been split evenly by us. Our biggest complaints though we're horrible service. A server never came by after we were seated so after 15 minutes we finally had to go find a manager and ask for one. Also, my husband ordered a salad and we never received it. The waiter also never came by to check and see if our food came out correctly and see if our steaks were cooked properly. The food we did have was delicious, but service severely lacking, especially when there were plenty of empty tables.
Always delicious! Love the atmosphere! Always look forward to eating here!
Great food prepared perfectly and served flawlessly. We appreciate that we can have a conversation without all the noise from the casino. It makes it a relaxed enjoyable meal. We have come to expect excellence at the Woodfire Grille and have never been disappointed.
Damion was fantastic. Food and wine was on point. Great ambience.
Excellent. Server was knowledgeable and friendly. Food was delicious! Off the charts! Loved it and would recommend to everyone.
Food & service was excellent! The restaurant has a nice ambiance and it's our go to restaurant before attending an event at the casino.
Good food and good service as always!
The waiter was excellent, the atmosphere was very pleasant. The meal in my opinion was not anything special.
Ben was our waiter and he was the best ever. Will definitely ask for him on our next visit
Service was great. Food was cooked perfectly. Wine was perfect. Overall "PERFECT"
Unfortunately, the wood fire grill has really regressed, from three or four years ago. The food was close to unedible. The prime rib was not bad, but my chopped salad and my asparagus were horrible. The only reason I said nothing was because our server, Derek, was a fantastic waiter and we did not want to hurt his feelings. He was top notch. My wife had pasta with white sauce and shrimp. The sauce was very watery, which made the flavor very bland. The bread and butter was very good. Will not eat here again, as all of the restaurants at the Kansas Star are pretty bad. This used to be a good trip, but not anymore.
Good steak. Ben is the best.
The food was wonderful and our service was excellent. If smoking troubles you, be aware that you have to walk through the casino to get into the restaurant. Nobody was smoking in the restaurant, but many were smoking in the casino.
Excellent dining experience!
This was a very exceptional find, also at a very comparable price. The food was very tasty and enough of it. I really found the place to be very pleasant and low key but yet very good overall.
The only restaurant to accept children at the hotel, and was a little surprised that they didn’t have a kids menu. Hmm! It is ala carte so you can probably find something for most “not too picky” eaters. The wine list was amazing!! By glass or bottle, the selection amazed me. My steak and lobster were cooked to perfection and the dessert (chocolate cake) was amazing. While the casino hotel is attached to the hotel, you cannot take a glass of wine to your room, however you could purchase a bottle to take back with you if you desire. Ambience was relaxing and or romantic, quiet, yet had TVs around area for sports watching. The center had a wonderful fireplace which helped bring a warming environment. Food was well prepared, garnished and timely but not rushed. Our server was impeccable, knowledgeable and did not barge in while we tried to have conversations. Will definitely visit when back in town again!
very disappointed in the steak. ribeye was not tender at all. approximately one half inch thick .
Service was good and the ambiance and food was excellent, as previous. As the restaurant has aged, it needs a good cleaning, Mirrors on the bar and glass are foggy. As the "by the glass" wine dispenser has become non-functional, the restaurant would benefit from something new or even just a wine storage place in its place. The dispenser creates a misimpression that things are just worn out and not functioning, when, in fact, the experience is quite exceptional.
I found a wrapper in my salad. My wife steak was not done correctly. She also received a 7oz in lieu of the 10oz she ordered. I'm the one who caught it, otherwise we would have paid for it. Both steaks were burnt on the outside, not seared - burnt. Which is a shame, I could tell the tomahawk was a really good cut of meat. I can overlook a wrapper. It happens. But I don't believe a steak place should make the mistakes with steaks that way.
Our waitress was less than enthusiastic....we nicknamed her Debbie Downer.
Steak was good....mixed vegetables that accompany meal was a bit misleading. Three pieces of asparagus & three cherry tomatoes seemed a bit skimpy.
Our dinner at the Wood Fire Grille was absolute perfection from the moment we were greeted upon entering the restaurant, shown to our booth, to when we exited after having a fabulous dinner.
The steak was over cooked and burnt, the baked potato was brown and so cild the butter won't melt. It was not a very good experience for us at all.
Yes they took great care of us the waitress was spot on food was great as well.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was amazing. Was disappointed in a few things. Did not receive the kind of wine I ordered. Some of the food was just average. Not what I would expect for an expensive restaurant. The first thing I ordered was not available but did not find this out until about a half hour after we had ordered. My son did love his Prime rib though and my husband said his salad was very good.
Food, service and ambiance was super! Thank you for a wonderful evening!
We were told by many people that the steaks we're great not ours the ribeye was tough and the prime rib had a lot of fat
Outstanding in all areas and we will definitely be visiting again. Great staff, friendly, excellent meal. You have a wonderful establishment all the way around. Thanks for the experience.
Service very slow. Took 30 minutes to pay the check.
The food and portions were great! Our waiter Ben was very good!
The restaurant was beautiful but the service was very slow. It took more than 10 minutes after seated for our server to come over and greet us. Luckily we had grabbed a drink at the bar before seated but even that took 10 minutes to get because there was only one bartender for the whole restaurant. Food was ok...I ordered filet minion medium well and it came out kinda burnt on the outside but medium on inside. My husbands lobster was over cooked. Our server was very nice but definitely not able to give us great service because she was spread too thin which wasn’t her fault. I overheard the group next to us getting upset that it was taking so long to get their drinks as well. Too expensive to not have top notch service. Glad I went but I won’t go back.
