Woodfire Grille Ratings and Reviews
The restaurant was beautiful but the service was very slow. It took more than 10 minutes after seated for our server to come over and greet us. Luckily we had grabbed a drink at the bar before seated but even that took 10 minutes to get because there was only one bartender for the whole restaurant. Food was ok...I ordered filet minion medium well and it came out kinda burnt on the outside but medium on inside. My husbands lobster was over cooked. Our server was very nice but definitely not able to give us great service because she was spread too thin which wasn’t her fault. I overheard the group next to us getting upset that it was taking so long to get their drinks as well. Too expensive to not have top notch service. Glad I went but I won’t go back.
Food was amazing at it always is! I have been to Woodfire multiple times and have always been pleased. The ONLY thing that was lacking this time was the service. I am use to having a very friendly and informative server, always going above and beyond. Our server this time was simply an order taker. She did a great job BUT was just there to take our order. She never offered any specials or desserts, to be honest I don't think she even told us her name. There was some discrepancy at the end because the tabs were not divided up correctly... That issue took a little longer than expected to resolve. Any way, the service was just, okay. Something I am not use to there but also not worth bringing to the managers attention at the time. Everyone has their off days.
The food was less than impressive, not worth the cost when I can find a steak with more flavor for less. The toast with the charcuterie plate was way burnt and not edible. Service was good aside from water being filled and the wait between the food. I wouldn't visit again.
The restaurant was having a bad day. They didn’t seat us until 15 minutes after our reservations even though we were there at 635 for a 645 reservation. After being seated at 7 no one came to take our drink order until 715. Our drinks were not brought including wine and soft drinks for another 30 minutes. We immediately turned in our dinner order and it was 45 minutes until we received salad/bread. Our steaks/salmon came out soon after. One steak had to be returned twice and they finally brought it back inedible, crunchy charred. No manager ever came by. All the servers were stressed and were not receiving any help from management. We had to flag people down to get refills etc.
This was a bad experience & nothing like previous visits have been. We definitely won’t be rushing back. One dinner should have been refunded and at the very least dessert offered. That is what you do when you wish to retain customers.
My boyfriend and I tried WFG for my birthday. We had reservations and arrived at a little early, so we still had about a 15 minute wait. We ordered drinks at the bar, but the one I requested from the menu I saw online, they no longer had available. I went with a Midori Sour, which was very tasty. The bartender seemed a bit unfriendly. He seemed more like a stuffy professor, than a bartender.
For appetizers, we ordered the crab cakes and the smoke short rib ravioli, both, which were very good. The crab cakes were a little fishy tasting, but with lemon juice drizzled on the, the flavor was much better. For dinner, I ordered the 7 oz. Filet Mignon, which was seasoned very well and quite tender. I really enjoyed it. My boyfriend had the surf and turf, which is was very pleased with. We did order a side of rosemary truffle fries, but we couldn't eat them all. The fries were quite tasty and cooked very well.
The only issue I really had with this restaurant, is that several people were dressed in like they were going to Walmart. One girl showed up with pajama bottoms under her "dress". While I'm not a fancy dresser, I expected more people to dress up. In my opinion, it ruined the ambience. Our waitress, was nice, and professional, but she forgot one of our drinks, twice, along with the butter for the lobster.
While the food was outstanding, it is very pricey. I most likely will not going back anytime soon.
Waiter was friendly but very slow about refills and never asked my wife about her meal. My steak was very good, the asperagas was so tuff you had to use a knife. My wife need a steak knife to cut the lobster, we'll use the second tail for something cooked at home, maybe, very poorly cooked.
Great food, the orange cream on the cheesecake was not a good match taste wise. Great waiter, very professional and helpful. Got 2 filets, wine, lobster bisque and 2 wedge salads. The filets were medium, perfectly cooked, delicious.
We were not impressed by the hostess/greeter. She (didnt catch her name, but short blackish hair) basically ignored us when we walked in. We stood there for quite a while before she even acknowledged us, then proceeded to answer the phone while we waited. Someone else came and seated us. Except for the hostess and the cheesecake I would have given it 5 stars.
The food was good. The chicken dish did not taste to good. It was very weird texture when chewing. I eat chicken dishes when dining out, because I not a big beef eater. The beef wellington was better than the chicken. I will not order the chicken dish again. We do like the Woodfire Grille and would eat their again.
We have dined at Woodfire 2 other times for special dates and the food was excellent. This time both of our steaks were very charred on the outside and tasted burnt to the point we had to cut the outer layers off to eat them. The asparagus tasted very woody and undercooked. Disappointing for a fairly expensive meal.
Dinner was delicious! Derek, our server, was extremely accommodating and very
pleasant. I have no negatives to report.
I love the Creamy Italian Dressing you serve. Hats off to the chef!
I have on occasion suggested to friends to try the Woodfire Grille. Thank you again!!
Service was exceptional. Ambiace was perfect. My guest ordered steak medium, I ordered steak medium rare. My guest's steak was medium rare and mine was medium. Although, I must complement the chef because the steak's flavor was great. Even though we didn't get the steak prepared as ordered, I will go back.
