Our favorite restaurant! The fireplaces booths set a romantic relaxing ambiance. It's always quiet and not overcrowded allowing an intimate atmosphere. The food is always phenomenal, the best in Dubuque. Service is outstanding and so personalized. They remember who you are and are genuinely excited to see you and help make your celebrations wonderful.

We love the ambiance of the dining room with the gas fireplaces. Service was outstanding. We really enjoyed the chopped salad. The tomahawk steak was not as good as was in the past, less flavorful and less edible meat. The roasted Brussels sprouts were very good and the au gratin potatoes were delicious.

WE had the Poterhouse steak special it was very good and cooked just right. WE noticed that right before serving the whole meal, starch meat and veg had been sprinkled with course salt. It would have been better with out so much salt. The brocilli became very salty. We had a nice left over portion for lunch the next day. I had a Makers Mark wiskey sour that was too sour. I would recomend making your wiskey sours with real lemmon, simple suryp and a little egg white. I was also served with oud garnish and could have used a slice of orange on the glass. Not well made or good value for a $11.00 cocktail.

Order the Wednesday Porterhouse for 2. Enough for 3. Server was excellent. We usually order steak medium rare but this time we ordered medium which was a good choice. Was done closer to medium rare. Meal was worth the $99. Leftovers for sure for 2.

We had date night and wanted to check out a high quality restaurant not too far from where we live and Woodfire did not disappoint! We started with the sirloin tips and like this blue cheese fondue. I have a gluten allergy so more limited, but this was GF and the chef let us try the cheese ahead of ordering it as not fans of blue cheese, but our waitress was knowledgeable and had tried the things we asked about (nice job chef!!) and told us we’d prob like it. She was right! Sirloin very tasty. Still a little blue cheese taste but manageable and didn’t dip a lot of it. I had the sea bass over a bed of sautéed spinach and my husband had the seafood pasta.The sea bass was cooked perfectly with good flavor but not a lot….had the Cajun and I think if I would have dipped it in the sauce it came on the plate more initially, it would have been even more amazing! I love this dish in the Ozarks so I was nervous it may not be as good, but it was fabulous and I’d get it again here! My husbands pasta was more bland and he wouldn’t get it again. The sauce definitely helped but had a sweet and sour flavor, which for a higher dining experience, we were looking for something more unique. The GF brownies were awesome!! Came as two and two tiny scoops of ice cream. This tasted like 5 star dining. Drinks were great too!!
